CHAPTER 9

I ran out the side gate of the house and I kept running until I was far enough away from the house that I knew they weren’t following me. But even then, I didn’t slow my pace.

I kept running at a steady speed until I hit the highway and I was running along the highway. It was getting later in the afternoon and the chill in the air was getting more prominent. But I still had my big hoodie on and my boots. Plus I was running, so I wasn’t too concerned about the weather.

The cold didn’t bother werewolves as much as it bothered humans. We had a hotter body temperature to them on any given day. So we were pretty fortunate like that.

But when I decided that it was going to take me hours to get back to the cabin like this, I ran until I got to the woods.

I got deep enough into the woods and I took my clothes off and I put my phone and wallet in my pocket and I shifted into my wolf. I then picked my clothes up in my mouth and I kept running through the woods.
