chapter Twenty-nine

Graeme Clough tapped his foot as he hummed his favorite song while rocking his chair back and forth. The process seemed to be longer than he thought, besides he never wanted to sit idle while Diane did all the work, but she'd earlier told him to do so since he'd no medical knowledge whatsoever. More so, she thought he would be a big distraction, which he actually was, by engaging her in discussions she wouldn't want to be a part of. Security, politics, and clocks were the favorite of his topics. She'd always wondered but kept mute anytime he began his talks on clocks.

She definitely wouldn't tell him how it felt, but within the few minutes he'd say a thing or two about it, she felt a hollow weakness in the pit of her stomach. Although, she never did speak to him about, but compared to the ill feeling the clock gave her, the rocking chair and tapping foot felt worse.

She raised her eyes and smiled at him whilst placing her thumb firmly on the marked spot on Johan's corpse.
