Author’s POV

Hannah folded her arms, watching Lily closely. She could not imagine that she had spent years feeling so little since Lily took her boyfriend from her, but now looking at her now, all she could see was a small and uncertain girl who had no clue what she was doing. Hannah sighed heavily, the tension thick between them.

“Well?” She asked, her voice sharp. “What are you doing here?”

Lily hesitated, her eyes darting to the ground. It was as though she was struggling to find the right words or anything to say, but still, the words were unable to form. Frustrated, Hannah, turned on her heel to walk away.

“Wait!” Lily’s voice broke through the quiet, her ton tinged with desperation and fear. “I’m here because of you.”

Hannah froze mid-step, and slowly turned back, her face unreadable but her eyes hinting with curiousity. “What do you mean, ‘because of me?’”

Lily moved uncomfortably, looking anywhere but at Hannah. She opened her mouth to speak, but before any words could come

Ethan took a deep breath, his heart pounding in his chest as he watched Hannah’s wide, terrified eyes. She sat on the edge of the bed, her hands twisted together in her lap, the tension in her shoulders so tight it looked like she might snap.He hesitated, running his hand through his hair, trying to find the right words, but there were no right words for this.“Hannah,” he said softly, moving to sit beside her. He took her hand, feeling the cold, nervous tremble in her fingers. “I need you to hear me out, okay?”She looked up at him, her eyes already filling with tears. “Ethan, just say it. Please.”He swallowed, squeezing her hand. “Dr. Reed… he found something during Bella’s checkup. It’s a small complication, but it might be serious. But it’s not something we can’t handle.”Hannah’s breath hitched, and her hand flew to her mouth as she tried to suppress a sob.“What… what kind of complication?” she whispered, her voice breaking.Ethan exhaled slowly, his heart aching as he saw the

Hannah sat cross-legged on the living room rug, the warm morning light streaming through the tall windows. Toys scattered around her—a stuffed giraffe, a rattle, a few brightly colored blocks and a few feet from her, Julian chuckled happily beside her, his chubby hands slapping against the soft mat.She glanced at Bella, who sat a few feet away, quietly chewing on a teething ring, her wide eyes fixed on the sunlight dancing on the floor. She looked so small, so fragile, her tiny fingers grasping the plastic toy like it held all the answers in the world.Hannah’s heart tightened. She had noticed it a few days ago—how Bella seemed to watch her brothers with a sort of quiet detachment, how she took longer to reach for the toys, how her babbling was softer, less frequent. At first, she brushed it off as normal. Every baby developed at their own pace, she told herself. But as the days stretched into a week, the nagging fear in the back of her mind grew louder. That night, after the kids we

Hannah was already halfway through typing a scene when the baby monitor crackled and instantly she paused. Her fingers hovered over the keys and her heart dropped as Bella’s thin, rasping cry echoed through the small speaker. Not the usual hungry whimper. This was different. She could tell the moment she heard it. She pushed her laptop aside, nearly knocking over her coffee, and rushed down the hallway.Ethan was in the kitchen pouring himself a late-night espresso, when he heard it too. His head snapped up, a familiar panic flashing in his eyes. He set the cup down, barely noticing it sloshing over the rim, and followed her.Bella was curled up in her crib, her tiny face flushed, and her breathing came in short, uneven gasps.“Oh God,” Hannah whispered, reaching down to scoop her up. She cradled Bella against her chest, the baby’s forehead burning against her skin. “She’s burning up, Ethan.”Ethan moved closer, placed his large hand against Bella’s back, feeling the heat radiating th

Hannah stared at the blinking cursor on her laptop screen for what felt like an eternity. She’d been trying to write again, but she was just stuck. The words should’ve been flowing by now, she knew that. It didn’t use to be this hard. She used to fill pages without a second thought, scripts usually poured from her fingertips, every scene clear in her mind. But now, the blank page felt like a wall she couldn’t climb. She glanced over her shoulder at the baby monitor, partly hoping for a distraction. Anything to get her mind off the fear that was rising. The fear that she’d lost her creative touch. But then guilt crept in.How could she spend time writing when there were bottles to wash, laundry to fold, and three little lives depending on her?She knew it wasn’t normal to feel this way. Just because she had these kids to cater for, didn’t mean she couldn’t pursue her own life. But still, the guilt was so overwhelming, she finally closed the laptop with a sigh, and leaned back into the

The sun was shining early that morning and the park was alive with the sound of children’s laughter and the scent of fresh-cut grass. Ethan held the picnic basket in one hand, his other arm wrapped around Hannah’s waist as they strolled toward the spot his parents had picked—a quiet area under a massive oak tree in the family compound. Hannah glanced at a distance and saw the kids playing with other children. Today was not so bad, they only had to worry about Julian and Bella.“This is nice,” she said, leaning into him. “Feels… normal.”Ethan smiled, leaned down and kissed the top of her head. “It is. Just us and the kids. No boardrooms. No spreadsheets.”As they approached his parents, Margaret waved them over, feigning surprise. “There you are! I was starting to think you got lost.”“We had a minor situation in the parking lot,” Ethan replied, setting the basket down. He reached to greet his mother as his father, Richard, stepped in front of them.“Look at you,” Richard said, his ey

It was 1:47 a.m. Hannah hadn’t closed her eyes in more than twenty hours. The house was dim, but the nursery glowed from the soft monitor’s light. Suddenly a loud cry pierced the silence like sirens. It was happening again. She kicked off the covers and sat up, wincing at the sharp ache in her back. “They’re up.”Ethan groaned from beside her. “Already?”“They never really went down.”He sat up slowly, rubbing his eyes. His hair was a mess, his face pale with exhaustion. “Alright. I’ll take the boys. You get Bella.”“No, I’ll get the boys. They hate your handling technique,” Hannah said, already on her feet.Ethan sighed but didn’t argue. Fifteen minutes later, they were at the school. Ethan tried to burp Bella but she squirmed like she wanted out of his arms.“I swear, they were easier in the hospital,” he muttered.Hannah snapped, “That’s because we had five nurses and morphine.”Ethan shot her a tired look. “You want to do this all on your own forever?”She didn’t answer. Just rock

  • Hired My Ex's Sister as Wife   Home at Last

The gates slowly opened, revealing their new home. It was wide, grand, and glowing in the soft afternoon sun, almost like a picturesque scene from a fairytale romance movie. The long driveway curved like a red carpet toward the mansion that looked like it had been pulled out of a dream. White walls, floor-to-ceiling windows, a wraparound porch and a warm ambiance that already made it feel like home. The house wasn’t just luxurious, it was everything that a new family needed. Hannah stepped out of the SUV first, holding her youngest children in her arms. The third was still fast asleep in the back seat. Her hair was pulled into a loose bun, and her clothes were wrinkled from the long drive. But there was a light in her eyes. Tired, but proud.Ethan followed, pausing for a second to take it all in. This was his idea, the home, the space, the future, yet looking at it now, it still didn’t feel so real. He had spent millions on the design. Every room was built around the idea of raising

The ocean stretched endlessly before them, its deep blue waters shimmering under the afternoon sun. The waves crashed rhythmically against the shore, filling the air with the scent of salt and freedom. The soft hum of distant laughter, the occasional cry of a seagull, and the warmth of the sand beneath his feet made Ethan feel something he hadn’t in a long time—at peace. He lay back in his beach chair, sunglasses shielding his eyes as he took in the scene before him. Hannah and Lily were walking along the shoreline, their bare feet sinking into the wet sand with each step. Hannah’s laughter carried over the breeze, light and unguarded.Ethan couldn’t stop staring at her. It had been years since he’d seen her this carefree. No worries, no burdens—just pure, unfiltered joy.Lucian, lounging beside him, sipped his drink and smirked. “Didn’t think you were the vacation type.”Ethan chuckled, shaking his head. “Didn’t think I’d get a second chance at this kind of peace.”Lucian nodded slow

The evening air carried the soft scent of roses and freshly cut grass as the sun dipped lower in the sky, casting a golden glow over the garden. Strings of twinkling lights hung above, flickering gently in the breeze. It was simple, intimate—exactly what they needed.Ethan adjusted the cuff of his suit, taking a deep breath. He never thought he’d be standing here again, vowing himself to Hannah, not because they had to, but because they chose to.Lucian clapped a hand on his shoulder. “Nervous?”Ethan scoffed. “Since when do I get nervous?”Lucian smirked. “You’re literally sweating.”Ethan wiped his palms against his pants, rolling his eyes. “It’s just hot out.”Lucian chuckled. “Sure it is.”But the truth was, Ethan was nervous—not because he doubted what he was about to do, but because of how much it meant. He glanced around. The guest list was small, just their closest friends and family. Noah stood in the corner, ever the watchful guardian. Lily adjusted Hannah’s bouquet, whisper
