When I woke up the next day, it was afternoon and there was no sign of Sebastian anywhere. I was relieved, I got dressed and stepped downstairs to the main wing where I met with the head steward of the house. I knew this because he had introduced himself to me. “Where is my husband?” The words sounded foreign against my lips. “Mrs. Wolfe, the master is at work. Would you like for me to send a message to him?” Master? Why did they have to call him that? It sounded so strange. “No, I will go to him myself” Edward, the head of steward seemed to be at a loss for wordss but I noticed how he shifted uncomfortably. “A moment then.” He excused himself to make a call. Although he stood only a few feet away, his back turned to me, I could not make out the words he was whispering into the phone. Was I supposed to seek permission before seeing Sebastian? When I could just drive to his office. Eventually, he turned around and said the master would see me now. Then he ordered a car around and we drove out of the compound. When I thought we would have reached the office, we kept on driving. The journey was beginning to seem longer than I had imagined so I questioned him. “Where are we going?” “To the airport.” “The airport?!” There was a slight note of panic in my voice which Edward l picked up on immediately. “Oh do not be alarmed Mrs. Wolfe, a private jet has been arranged for the trip. Your safety is of highest importance to us.” “My safety? I am not worried about that. Where are we going?” “To see Master Sebastian, as you requested.” “And he’s waiting for me in a private jet? What happened to his office?” “No, of course not. He’s waiting for you in France.” My mouth hung open but I couldn’t get to ask the million questions reverberating in my head. We had reached the airport and the driver was talking with Edward. We drove around to a private hangar where I met with the crew I was going to be traveling with. “What is this Edward? I don’t have my things with me, I have a company to run and I can't be here playing silly games” “Don’t worry about that, Mrs. Wolfe, the master already took care of everything.Have a wonderful trip.” What did he mean by that? What did Sebastian take care of? I didn't have time to ask as thebodyguard assigned to me for the trip escorted me into the plane behind the crew. As soon as I was seated, I was offered a drink and some food all of which I could not touch because I was still in a daze. How had Sebastian made it to France between last night and this afternoon? I tried to g****e to find out what was in France but everything about Sebastian in the public was clearly incomplete. It seemed like someone was being paid to carefully construct what little the media did know about him. Finally, I gave up on even lookin and just decided to enjoy the flight. I had never been to France before. I should try to enjoy my first time at least. Several hours later, we landed in France. A French driver was leaning against a glossy black Maserati, waiting for us in the hangar. “Bon arrive.” He smiled as he opened the door for me. The escort got in the front seat with me and we drove all the way to a gated neighborhood in what looked like the countryside. “Where exactly are we?” “Reims, madame. The Wolfe’s vineyards.” The Wolfe had a vineyard? Why was I not surprised? The car wound up a hill that stretched for miles, around us vast fields of grapes ran for miles beyond my site. The air was filled with the cool, clean air characteristic of sparsely populated areas with dense vegetation. At some point I thought the ride would never end and just when I did not want it to, the car was brought to a halt. I looked up at the manor reminiscent of the French aristocracy. A beautiful stone house that instantly took my breath away. I got out of the car on the escorts prompting and followed him into the building which he seemed very familiar with. Uniformed staff milled about the place, none of which spared us more than a glance and a mumbles greeting. They seemed to be preparing for something of some sort. I followed my bodyguard through a series of connecting doors which led us to the back of the estate where a group of people where seated around a round table, having a discussion over wine and some pastries I could not name. A man was standing and beside him Sebastian sat, the only person not laughing amongst the group. His eyes met mine in that way it usually did, held it for a second before he stood up causing the others to turn their heads. He met me halfway to the table and laid his hands gently on the small of my back. Even though it was for public show, it didn't make my skin crawl. “How was your trip?” “Surprisingly quick,” I chuckled nervously, anxious about being under the gaze of several strange eyes. “Brilliant. There are some people I would like you to meet.” There were five men other than Sebastian around the table and he introduced all of them starting with the one who had been leading the conversation. They were his business partners who he invariably considered family. “Please, have a seat. My aunt and cousins should be here any minute.” “What is going on?” I whispered to him as conversation continued around us. “In order for the alliance to be complete, you must meet The Nameless.” “The nameless?” “Yes the nameless. In other words, my extended family.” My heart sank at the thought of another set of family members who will judge me.Sebastian POV“She’s easy on the eyes, cousin”I did not have to turn around to know it was Alex –Al as our mothers liked to call him, who had spoken. In his hand, he held a plate of food piled high. “Whose eyes?” I asked without looking at him.“Come on, it’s hard not to look”“But not impossible, try”He chuckled, recognizing my twisted sense of humor for what it was even though a part of me was serious.I looked away from him just as he picked up another piece of chicken from his plate and took a large bite.It was one of the greatest mysteries of Alex. How did he manage to eat that much and still remain fit. With his inconsistencies at the gym and several social disorders. But I knew how. Which was exactly why I was giving him the look I currently was.“What?” He laughed and struck my arm with his elbow, playfully of course.“You know what”“Relax, I’m not going to touch her. She’s your wife. Come on, man, you’ve got to give me more credit than that”Then I really looked at him a
AlinaI was suddenly nervous at the prospect of meeting his other family, I was even more confused on what exactly I was doing here.“Do you want to shower and get changed first?” Sebastian went on, unperturbed by my worries,My palms were sweaty. I indiscreetly rubbed them against my skirt while he stood there peering at me curiously like he could see through the brave mask I was trying to put on.“Actually, I was hoping to talk to you first”Sebastian only raised his brow for a second before turning around. “We’d go somewhere private”I followed him around the curve of the staircase to the hallway beyond. There were a series of doors leading out of the hallway on both sides of us. Large windows flanked the exterior walls revealing the fields around the house. I decided that if I had time to do anything else, I would walk around the grounds. Finally, Sebastian turned open a door and we descended three steps into a sunken den decorated with plush carpets and dark walls. He offered me

AlinaI felt ashamed that she had caught us in that position but my mind was already focused on something else. This woman was so fucking beautiful. Why didn't he want her?“What is this news I hear? What madness is this Seb?” Her tone was harsh but her words seemed soft, almost as if she was trying to convince herself that this was probably a nightmare.“And you, I knew you were trouble from the first time I saw you in his office. Don't you have any shame? Sebastian and I have been together for most of our lives” Laila said furiously, her eyes fixed on me. She took a deep breath and then looked back at Sebastian.“So it was all for this” she accused him. I couldn't believe what was happening in the room. “You deceived me, used me, led me on only to be with this slut? ” Her tone sounded angry and bitter.I bit my lip.“I didn't lead you on. I called it off and you refused to move on” Sebastian was no longer above me. He was now standing casually, looking at the woman in front of hi
Alina The pain was immediate and excruciating but I kept myself together. I didn't cry, I didn't move, I didn't react. Not for long anyway. It was a good thing that I had learned self-control. “Mother!” Sebastian yelled angrily. He walked up to his mother and pulled her away from me. “Now you listen to me, that isn't what happens. You don't get to hit her, you don't have a say in this!” “Seb, let go of your mother this minute!” His father screeched. “I don't have the patience to deal with your temper tantrums” “She is nothing but a common prostitute” Mrs Wolfe chirped in. “Why would you protect her” “I am not! Don't talk about me like this, especially when I also have the power to make and break your company. You want to be a part of my grandfather's company so bad, my rejection wouldn't hurt you now but we all know you'd barely survive. Don't push me” My voice was raw, filled with rage and anger, as my emotions were overflowing. I didn't realize it but I was holding back so
AlinaIt all moved so fast, one minute I was asking him why he was stalking me and the other minute, I somehow found myself in the living room with my grandfather and Sebastian Wolfe.“We are getting married” Sebastian announced confidently and the room fell silent. It was typical of him to always have such power over everyone. His aura commanded everyone’s attention with ease, a fact he was very aware of and loved it about himself. But right now he could only focus on one person in that room, so when he looked at Charles, he saw hostility. I am sure of this because that was what I saw.My grandfather began to chuckle, it was empty and sounded like nails on a chalkboard, which made me more nervous.“Is this some sort of joke?”“No Sir, we were engaged before we lost contact, tell him, Alina”I was too frozen to speak but in the secrecy of my heart I was glad he had used the term “Engaged” instead of “Married”. That would have complicated things more.Everyone was waiting for me to sa

Alina POVAlina. "Mrs. Wolfe" I muttered under my breath. I stared at the ring on my finger, still in shock from everything that had happened in the past few hours. I couldn't believe I'd gone from married to divorced to married again in the span of a day. My life was really one big mess. "We're
