Alina POV

“Sir your fiancee is here” I heard his receptionist say from behind the door.

Sebastian didn't make any attempt to move so I pushed him.

What surprised me was the way my hands tingled as I pushed him further away and the fact that he did not object. We stared at each other for a moment before he turned around.

But he didn't exactly move from me.

When the gracious woman whom I had recognized as his fiancee walked in, she looked more breathtaking in person but there was a look on her face that told me I needed to leave.

“Who is this?” She sneered at me, eyes narrowing further when Sebastian pulled me by the arm and when we were close enough, he whispered “One week” even though Laila was there.

Goosebumps formed on my skin as I walked out of the door, not wanting to be in that environment.

I didn't say a word to Clara as she followed me back to the car. What would I do? I didn't know what he had done with the creep from last night, I didn't know if he was alive, I didn't know anything.

Once I got back to my office building, my receptionist came to me. You have a guest in the waiting room ma” she said in that too soft voice that everyone seemed to like.

A guest? I wasn't expecting anyone but I nodded and headed to my office.

When I saw my guest, rage ran through my veins. How dare that...that slimy man... he was still looking up at me even though I was standing less than ten feet away from him. His lips parted as if to utter a sound which was cut short by the slam of my office door behind me.

“What do you want? Why are you here Victor? Get the fuck out!” My anger bubbled over into words that spilled out of my mouth without consideration If he stayed long enough I might start crying.

“Alina… please listen to me” He winced as if I had slapped him hard.

“Get. The hell. Out” There I repeated myself because I couldn't think straight anymore. Not in those few minutes.

“I am sorry…” I couldn't believe my eyes. Did he think I was a foolish woman he could manipulate anytime? Did he think I was still naive? Hadn't I learned from all of his previous behavior? Was he still that self absorbed asshole who thought he knew everything about me? Or maybe this was some kind of sick game for him. Toying with me? Making sure I didn't catch on to what he was doing?

“You are not sorry! You are only sorry because you found out I was the Grant’s heiress, you are only sorry because you hope to get a favor from me, you are only sorry because of my family’s reputation and you don't care about anyone except your fucking self” I was staring at him face to face.

He didn't answer. Instead, he started laughing. It sounded like a cruel mockery of me, like he was amused by my pain.

He took both of my hands into his. “I know I hurt you but you can't stay mad at me forever. I am your first love, you know what they say about first loves. I know you love me Alina, I know you always will” He continued smiling while I jerked my hand out of his grip. I was breathing rapidly and I felt my palm connect hard with his cheek.

It felt good, really good.

“Leave now before I call security” I managed to choke out between my teeth.

His grin turned into a frown. “This isn't the time or place to fight” He tried to hold my hand again.

“Then leave!” I yelled. Tears welled in my eyes but I would never let them fall in front of him.

“I want you back” He whispered “You know I need to be close to you, you're too beautiful to forget about me” He held my other hand but I ripped them off too.

As his smile slowly disappeared and the glint in his eye became something else, I realized the situation I was in. I couldn't afford to lose control in such a position.

I called security.

“Get this man out of here, I don't want to ever see him again”

The security men grabbed him. They looked shocked at the turn of events. No doubt he was used to getting whatever he wanted, he just didn't like having to pay for it. They dragged him down the hall, and I ignored his loud screams.

“I will win you back, Alina!” He said as he was dragged away. The door closed, cutting him off from my hearing. I collapsed onto one of the chairs, my body shaking.

My mind was racing with possibilities as to what this meant.

The whole day was a mess, the kind of mess I couldn't afford. Charles didn't need to know about all of these, but for how long will I be able to hide these from him?

When I left the office, something strange happened. My driver kept looking at the reviewer's mirror. It could have been normal I sensed something was wrong.

“Is everything alright?” I asked, trying to act like I hadn't noticed him checking the mirrors. My nerves were frazzling.

“I think we are being followed” He replied. A shiver ran through me as I remembered all the stories I had read about stalkers. l turned around and I could see the Tesla tailing us from a distance. I cursed and turned back to my driver.

“Please go faster” I said and he complied.

I leaned forward resting my arms on the dashboard. “How much farther till we reach our destination?”

“We shouldn't be too far away now” He paused, and “Should we pull over?”

“No, it would draw too much attention to us. Go faster please.”

Once we got in front of the mansion, I asked the driver to stop and once he did, the Tesla stopped as well but I didn't expect the owner to step out but when he did, it was Sebastian Wolfe.

But for what reason?I threw on my clothes and lastly, sunshades. The last thing I wanted was to be caught in public with Sebastian. Not with the endless number of paparazzi that seemed to have taken an unnecessary interest in me.“I am going out for a little while” I called out to Charles who sat casually on his favorite chair, flipping through pages of a book.“But it's quite late” He protested and stood up from the chair, taking off his reading glasses. I could see in his eyes that he did not approve of it.“I won't be gone long, I am just going for a walk, I need to clear my head”I said as if I had every right to do so.“Are you sure you are alright Alina?” He asked with a worried expression.“Yeah, why wouldn't I be? Alina POV(Five years later)"Miss Grant, you have a call from the contractor working on the Seaside project," my assistant Clara said, as she walked beside me, ticking things off her pad. "Hold it until after my meeting, but if my lawyer calls, inform him to start legal proceedings for our two stable projects." I said, while pulling out a mirror to check my lipstick. "Your date from last night called about a second date tonight." She hesitated, " I think he might be the one. He's sweet." I smiled, remembering the cute tech guy from yesterday who had taken me to a low-key Italian restaurant and called me his lucky charm. He was sweet, but the truth is that I didn't want sweet, "Tell him I don't do repeats” "You have six lunch requests. One is from the CEO of Derr Inc." she informed me. "Schedule with him. Is that all?" I asked as we halted in front of the office door. She nodded, then adjusted her glasses, "Are you sure you're ready?" "I've been waiting for this day for five ye

  • His Contract Wife Revenge   Chapter Four

Alina POVAlina. "Mrs. Wolfe" I muttered under my breath. I stared at the ring on my finger, still in shock from everything that had happened in the past few hours. I couldn't believe I'd gone from married to divorced to married again in the span of a day. My life was really one big mess. "We're here” my new husband said from my side. I glanced up, only just realizing that the car had pulled to a stop. I'd barely had time to sign the five year marriage contract and redo my mascara before Sebastian had dragged me to his car and informed me that we had somewhere to be. "Oh wow," I exclaimed as I stepped down from the car and stared at the magnificent building before me. "Come on," he said impatiently, heading for the stairs leading up to the large front doors. Inside the building was just as perfect as the outside, with glittering chandeliers, dark green curtains, and thick rugs, expensive paintings and pottery. I trailed after Sebastian , too distracted to take note of the voic
