It all moved so fast, one minute I was asking him why he was stalking me and the other minute, I somehow found myself in the living room with my grandfather and Sebastian Wolfe. “We are getting married” Sebastian announced confidently and the room fell silent. It was typical of him to always have such power over everyone. His aura commanded everyone’s attention with ease, a fact he was very aware of and loved it about himself. But right now he could only focus on one person in that room, so when he looked at Charles, he saw hostility. I am sure of this because that was what I saw. My grandfather began to chuckle, it was empty and sounded like nails on a chalkboard, which made me more nervous. “Is this some sort of joke?” “No Sir, we were engaged before we lost contact, tell him, Alina” I was too frozen to speak but in the secrecy of my heart I was glad he had used the term “Engaged” instead of “Married”. That would have complicated things more. Everyone was waiting for me to say something. If I didn't affirm, Sebastian would keep to his threats, I knew him too well. “It’s the truth Grandfather,” I said with all the dignity possible. My grandfather's head turned towards me, his eyes dark and murderous like a viper that wants to kill you with one bite, the kind that will leave your corpse bleeding on the ground. “5 years is a long time for someone to change, do you think he is the same man that you once knew?” Of course, Sebastian was the same man right? “Yes grandfather” I lied while trying to stay calm. I hated Sebastian, I hated him so much for putting me in this situation and humiliating me. “Why didn’t you tell us? How long have you been seeing each other?” He asked with narrowed eyes and I felt trapped by those words. Sebastian knew because he answered “Some weeks” Charles Grant didn't say anyone after that he just stared between Sebastian and me. It made me sick to the stomach that I had to lie to him. I was even more sick when I couldn't tell what was going on in his head. Dinner passed by awkwardly, not even Vanessa could say a word. “We need to start the wedding preparation,” Sebastian said once we were outside in front of his Tesla. My heart sank at the sound of his voice. “How Do you expect us to start planning a wedding? ” I was upset. “Can't you read the room? Did you see my grandfather's reaction? Do you still think there would be any wedding? Why are you so bent on ruining my life?” I was getting angry. This whole plan was ridiculous, he knew how much I hated what he was doing. “There will be a wedding, just do as you are told” He replied calmly while taking out his phone from his pocket and checking messages. “As for preparations, I already told them you would help in this one. There is nothing else they could ask of you” Who were they? “Them?” “You'll see” In the next week, Sebastian seemed to have won my grandfather over. The wedding was small at one of his luxurious hotels. It didn't help that I could barely spot any of his family and on my side, it was only Charles Grant. There was no sign of my half-sister, Vanessa. “You may now kiss the bride” The officiant announced with a huge smile and both Sebastian and I stepped forward simultaneously. I was confused by how fast everything was going. “They are going to sense your hesitation” he whispered as he leaned forward. His lips brushed against my lips softly and I shivered slightly. It was then I realized that I was afraid, because of his threat and also because of the weird reaction his lips stirred inside me. I don't know what I expected but his lips were surprisingly soft and warm, not as cold as his heart was. Maybe it wasn't the best way to describe a kiss but I guess it worked for me. I closed my eyes and felt Sebastian warm hands glide across my back slowly as if he wanted to memorize how to touch me. As if he were trying to remember the taste of my mouth. When I opened my eyes again, Sebastian looked completely different. My mind was a whirlwind as we exchanged the rings and my hands trembled uncontrollably, I couldn’t believe we were doing this, again. That same day, I moved into the Wolfe’s mansion. And just like last time, six pairs of eyes waited for and it felt like dèjá vu. The only difference was that I wasn't the scruffy girl I once was. I was still intimidated but I hid it with a blank expression. If Sebastian had held my hands at that moment he would have felt the sweat in them. “You still went ahead to bring this whore back, do you even care about this family's reputation?” Mrs. Wolfe demanded. The older Mrs Wolfe because I was also now a Mrs Wolfe. Her face was flushed red, her fists were balled and her breathing was uneven. She was obviously agitated. “What makes you think you can return with such embarrassment?” “I chose my path already, take it or leave it” Sebastian responded. His tone was icy and detached but I could hear hurt in it too. Maybe I was exaggerating. “Your path is a whore and she…” “Excuse me, Mrs Wolfe. My name is Alina Grant. My pronouns are she/her. But I understand that some people like you are obsessed with my past so sometimes my pronouns are slut, whore, and hoe. But trust me, I understand. This time is different from the last time. I wouldn't stand here and hear it anymore if it weren't for Sebastian. And please forgive him, this has become a habit now” Mrs Wolfe glared at me, looking like she would gladly rip out my throat and spit on my body, but after the short pause, she let out an exasperated sigh and turned around. “Take the bitch wherever you want, I don't want to see her” “You mean to say, Alina. My name is Alina” I corrected with a forced smile. One minute she was in front of me and the other minute her palm collided painfully with my cheek.AlinaIt all moved so fast, one minute I was asking him why he was stalking me and the other minute, I somehow found myself in the living room with my grandfather and Sebastian Wolfe.“We are getting married” Sebastian announced confidently and the room fell silent. It was typical of him to always have such power over everyone. Alina POV“Sir your fiancee is here” I heard his receptionist say from behind the door.Sebastian didn't make any attempt to move so I pushed him. What surprised me was the way my hands tingled as I pushed him further away and the fact that he did not object. We stared at each other for a moment before he turned around. But he didn't exactly move from me.When the gracious woman whom I had recognized as his fiancee walked in, she looked more breathtaking in person but there was a look on her face that told me I needed to leave.“Who is this?” She sneered at me, eyes narrowing further when Sebastian pulled me by the arm and when we were close enough, he whispered “One week” even though Laila was there.Goosebumps formed on my skin as I walked out of the door, not wanting to be in that environment.I didn't say a word to Clara as she followed me back to the car. What would I do? I didn't know what he had done with the creep from last night, I didn't know if he was alive, I didn't know
AlinaPanic engulfed me as I stared at the moving body, there was no way I was going to be part of a murder case, not when I had just started living, not with everything else.“What the hell have you done? He is not breathing, he is not moving!” I screamed at Sebastian in the middle of my panic attack while I hit him repeatedly over his chest. At that moment all I could think of was the media, the headlines this will carry, oh God.“Get yourself together. He was going to hurt you” His voice held no remorse, as usual, it always sounded as if that were the only thing he cared about. “What do we do?” Charles was going to kill me.Sebastian brought out his phone and I could tell he was dialing a number “You should go, I will handle it” He said and before I could even protest he shoved my keys into my hands. But I didn't move, if I left, I would have another secret and he would have the upper hand.“Go” He repeated. His tone held finality and without any protest, I opened the door, slam
AlinaI was FUCKED.If I thought I was fucked in the day, now it was worse than before. What was this? Was this karma coming back to bite me in the ass in its own unforgiving way? But for what reason?I threw on my clothes and lastly, sunshades. The last thing I wanted was to be caught in public with Sebastian. Not with the endless number of paparazzi that seemed to have taken an unnecessary interest in me.“I am going out for a little while” I called out to Charles who sat casually on his favorite chair, flipping through pages of a book.“But it's quite late” He protested and stood up from the chair, taking off his reading glasses. I could see in his eyes that he did not approve of it.“I won't be gone long, I am just going for a walk, I need to clear my head”I said as if I had every right to do so.“Are you sure you are alright Alina?” He asked with a worried expression.“Yeah, why wouldn't I be? But I will even be better when I take this walk” I answered and headed out of the bui
AlinaI opened my mouth to protest but the cocky son of a bitch didn't wait, he walked out of me.I turned to Clara and she looked at me apologetically, guilty for listening to my conversation.“Let's go!” I barked at her and stalked away towards the parking lot. She followed me and we got into car, leaving the scene behind us. My whole body was still shaking from anger and my nerves felt like they were about to break. My fists clenched tightly against my dress and from time to time I could feel Clara’s neyes on me.Once I had gotten home, I hurried down hoping to make it to my room but instead I came face to face with him.Charles Grant , my grandfather. His Aura reeked of old money , a mixture of power and entitlement. He stood tall and straight in front of the glass door that led to my balcony, his dark grey two piece perfectly fitted and looking sharp even when he didn’t put effort into it. “Alina” His voice cut through the silence like a whip crack. His aura flickered around
Alina POV(Five years later)"Miss Grant, you have a call from the contractor working on the Seaside project," my assistant Clara said, as she walked beside me, ticking things off her pad. "Hold it until after my meeting, but if my lawyer calls, inform him to start legal proceedings for our two stable projects." I said, while pulling out a mirror to check my lipstick. "Your date from last night called about a second date tonight." She hesitated, " I think he might be the one. He's sweet." I smiled, remembering the cute tech guy from yesterday who had taken me to a low-key Italian restaurant and called me his lucky charm. He was sweet, but the truth is that I didn't want sweet, "Tell him I don't do repeats” "You have six lunch requests. One is from the CEO of Derr Inc." she informed me. "Schedule with him. Is that all?" I asked as we halted in front of the office door. She nodded, then adjusted her glasses, "Are you sure you're ready?" "I've been waiting for this day for five ye

Alina POV"I want to speak to Sebastian Wolfe” I said as I stepped up to the front desk. The dark haired secretary took her time, running a mocking gaze over me, from my dirty, wrinkled dress to my cheap shoes, messy hair and ruined make up. I knew I looked crazy, but I didn't care. I was a desper

Alina POV"Oh God," I let out a moan I didn't feel as the man began to kiss a line down my throat, hands roaming all over my body. The man mouthed at my exposed cleavage, making a sound of pleasure low in his throat, "God, baby. You taste so good." Of course I did, I had spent over three hours so
