Alina’s POV

“What did you do?”

“Good morning to you too” He replied, casually going through his stuff and ignoring my question.

“He called me…” I started but stopped immediately when I saw the look on his face.

“He did what?”

“Nothing. Nothing happened. What did you do?”

“Less than what I should have done to him”  He shrugged it off like it was not a big deal. “Block that line” He ordered, pointing to the phone I was holding.

I was even more surprised that I did so without hesitation.

“We have an interview later on, don't panic”He told me to try to calm me down but I wasn't even aware of it until after he said it. I felt myself go cold for reasons unknown to me.

I nodded silently as he grabbed his stuff from our closet.

Did I just say ours?

“Mrs Wolfe, is it true that this marriage is all a temporary arrangement?”  The interviewer spoke up.

“No. My husband  and I  have been seeing each other in secret for a long time and we are in love.” I paused to give Logan what was supposed to be a loving stare and he did the same. We had practiced it before now.

“I see, there are rumors about you, about your past and about the pictures that can no longer be seen anywhere. What do you have to say about that?” The interviewer was trying to sabotage me. I could see it in her smirk on her face and the mischief that danced in her eyes. She knew nothing but she wanted to know everything.

Her job was to keep us under surveillance and she was succeeding beautifully. I could hear the smile on her lips while she looked at the man behind me who was staring straight ahead. It was unnerving.

“Like you said, past. Everyone has a past, that was my past and I don't owe anyone an explanation.”

“Well not everyone has a past of sleeping with different men, is that how you got to the top?”

The interviewer's tone didn't change at all. I could sense a challenge coming.

“Cut!” Sebastian yelled , making me jump in surprise.

He looked furious. “Listen to me, my wife has had enough of your nonsense. I won't sit here  listening to your bullshit. If you want me to get into this shit show of yours and you still want it to survive, then you better start being civil.” His voice was low and calm.

He put out his hand and I took it and he led me outside.

“Thank you.” I smiled but he ignored me.

“I think we've had enough of interviews.”

I didn't argue with him. I could sense the tension between us. We walked in silence for a few steps but he couldn't stand it any longer.

“Are you upset because of her?”  He asked looking directly into my eyes. His voice sounded serious and concerned. Like he actually cared what my answer was and that made me feel worse.

Was I delusional for thinking he was concerned?

“No.” I got into the passenger seat and he drove off.

“Don't pay attention to my family.  I still have a few things to take care of. Sebastian told me once we finally got home.

I gulped.

How was I supposed to deal with his family alone?

“Okay.” I nodded, stepping out of the black Lambo truck.

Once I walked in, the first person I saw was Laila. Why was she still here? I just knew it was going to be a long day.

I was going to ignore her until I heard her mumble “Slut”

“Did you say something?” I snapped annoyed. I was too tired and stressed already.

She smirked, “Isn't that what you are?”

Her remark left me completely speechless. How dare she talk about me like that!? And to my face? “Excuse me?” I growled, taking a step closer to her.

“You're a slut.” She repeated, looking smug.

“Oh yeah?” I asked her again. “Well this slut took your place, deal with that!” I screamed back, my temper rising by the second.

There was a moment where I thought she would cry.

“This is all temporary, Sebastian will always look at you like you're trash. You should know this by now.”

I clenched my fists to stop them from trembling and tried to compose myself. She may have hurt me but not physically. I turned around to leave but she grabbed me by the arm.

“Seb and I have been betrothed since I turned eighteen. I don't know what crazy phase he is currently in. I don't know where he got you from but one thing I know is that I am never leaving him. Never.” She added firmly before letting go of my arm. “So I think it would be best if you leave right now before anything happens” Her tone was full of menace.

“If there is anyone who should leave, it would be you, Laila. You can start over or something. You can stay here if you like but Sebastian isn't going to marry you. What we have is genuine.” I don't know where I was getting the balls to tell such lies effortlessly but I was proud of myself for doing so. “And if you ever make the mistake of calling me names again, I promise you that I will  do whatever I need to to prove it to you.” I warned her

I felt satisfied when I heard a small scoff come from her mouth. She must have realized how much of a threat I really was.

But at least she respected me. I hoped.

As if on cue, the door opened and Sebastian emerged. He seemed to look at us both with curiosity.

A stupid idea came to my mind, and before I could think it through my legs carried me to where Sebastian Wolfe was standing.

Somehow I hoped he would cooperate.

It seemed to work. Because he didn't move when I wrapped my arms around his neck, stood on my tippy toes and locked my lips  against his.

  • His Contract Wife Revenge   Chapter Twenty-Eight

Sebastian POV When she was done with the phone, she put it back on the side table where she had taken it, avoiding my gaze. The air was still heavy with sexual tension and I could tell there were things we wanted to say to each other but couldn't. So instead we both stood quietly, waiting for the other to speak first. “When are we going to start making an heir?” I blurted out not oblivious to the fact that my words reeked of desperation. She looked up in surprise. “Why didn't you say I would beg?” Her words held sarcasm now. “For someone who doesn't want to be around me, you are sure enjoying this push and pull episode.” I matched her energy as best I could. My voice was rough but at least my face didn't show how my bruised ego. I walked towards her and she did the same as if we were daring each other . She came to a halt just inches from me and I could catch the fragrance of her hair. Our breaths mixed together in the stillness of our proximity and for a split second ev

Alina’s POV “Did you fix it yet?” Charles eyes were boring into mine, and so were those of Vanessa. “Not yet, grandfather but I am on it” I tried to pacify them both. They looked at each other with an unreadable expression in their eyes. It was strange, but the way they looked, it reminded me of how Grandfather looked when he first told me that was his favourite granddaughter. His face was blank as usual, his gaze almost emotionless, but somehow that made him look more approachable than anything else. “How long is it going to take?” Vanessa whined , and her words seemed directed only at me now. I couldn't say, I resolved to bow my head in shame. “You see why you shouldn't have left her in charge? She doesn't deserve it. Everyone knows I am the better granddaughter.” she continued as if talking to herself. “It's too late for that. There's nothing we can do now.” Vanessa said in an attempt to console her. She rolled her eyes “That's bullshit grandfather. Are you going to sit he

  • His Contract Wife Revenge   Chapter Twenty-five

Alina’s POVSebastian stormed out without me. He left me standing there in front of his father and I wanted to cower and hide from the man’s glaring eyes and I could hear my breath coming out heavily through my nose. But my pride didn't let me. But eventually, just when I wanted to turn away slowly, he stopped me.“We need to talk.” There was still anger in his voice but he wasn't yelling now. The anger that had been in his eyes before was gone and replaced with an odd sense of calm as if he understood something about what I was feeling.I was confused by his statement for a few seconds.“How much?” He asked . His words were calm and quiet but there was a certain intensity in them that made me look up at him again. He seemed like a person who didn’t get impatient very often.“Huh?”My brow furrowed as I tried to process his question. Did he want to know how much this situation meant to me or did he want to know where we stood now? “How much do you need to stay away from my son? To

  • His Contract Wife Revenge   Chapter Twenty-four

Sebastian POV “Why did you marry me?” She was in my office, looking feisty and hot in the well-tailored navy blue pants she wore and a cream shirt. Her eyes were burning into mine with that intensity I was so used to from her on the field. It would take more than this, but it was enough for her to make me lose any semblance of control over myself, especially since I already was having a rough day but instead I smiled in amusement which made her more furious. “Is that the real reason why you married me? You wanted my grandfather's company to run into ruins and you just needed a good plan to start your destruction? Is this what this is all about?” She went on yelling and I could tell her voice had lost its usual cool edge. The smile immediately fell from my face. What was she going on about? “What are you talking about?” My voice sounded more serious than I intended because at the sound of my stern tone she calmed down slightly, but not much. I took a deep breath. It only see

  • His Contract Wife Revenge   Chapter Twenty-Three

Alina’s POV“What do you mean?” I asked, staring at the grey-haired man in front of me who had come along with his team.“We no longer want the partnership with your company,” he said in a gruff voice while looking out of the window and not meeting my eyes. “It is time for us to take over our own business,” he added after a pause. “But everything has been going smoothly, what changed your mind?” I asked, looking at him with an eyebrow raised in disbelief. “We have already taken care of all that matters. My board members voted for a dissolution. We wouldn't want to associate with a company whose acting CEO's reputation is on the line because of its bad business practices. It would be best if we go our separate ways” he answered, still not meeting my gaze. “The merger was a very good idea and we appreciate your support for our decision,” he added. With these words, he got up from the chair opposite to mine and left without saying another word. So did his team.I collapsed against my

Alina POV"I want to speak to Sebastian Wolfe” I said as I stepped up to the front desk. Alina POV"Victor, you've gotten the promo…" my words died in my throat at the sight before me. I blinked in confusion, wondering whether I was hallucinating, but the vision remained the same. The horrifying vision of my husband and his secretary tangled up together in my marital bed. "What the

Alina POV"Oh God," I let out a moan I didn't feel as the man began to kiss a line down my throat, hands roaming all over my body. AlinaThe pain was immediate and excruciating but I kept myself together. I didn't cry, I didn't move, I didn't react. Not for long anyway. It was a good thing that I had learned self-control. “Mother!” Sebastian yelled angrily. He walked up to his mother and pulled her away from me. “Now you lis
