The photo was of me and Cold while we chatted in the coffee shop.

‘This’ looked like a couple-like photo.

Oh goodness.

When Dale's meeting seemed unending, I decided to leave, heading back to his place.

Sophie was sitting like she'd been awaiting my presence, leg crossed over the other's knee.

I had no idea how I looked, but it was enough to land a satisfied smile on her lips.

“Did he finally realize what a waste of time you are?” She asked, but I ignored her, falling on the chair opposite hers.

At the moment, I didn't care about her insults. All I needed was to see Dale. To explain everything to him.

Never had I felt this worried to prove myself to someone.

Well, at least not since the first accusation that led to our divorce then.

And now, something similar was happening.

Something told me that, just like the last time, this false news might just be orchestrated by her.

“I've always wondered what he sees in you.” Sophie scoffed. “If I were a guy, I'd never—”

“Shut up, okay?” My pati

The message came as a startle, because it made something very clear…She was going to tell Chloe the truth. Tonight.Immediately, I left the company, more determined than I ever had to reveal everything to Chloe.I had to. Before it became too late. And tomorrow, was the definition of too late. All through, my mind ran. How was I going to tell her? How would she react? Those were questions which answers that just wasn't certain. And that left me a little shaken. The moment the car stirred into my compound, my phone pinged with a message. It was from Nora. *I'm waiting for you Dale. I have something important to discuss with you, and my advice is that you're not late. I promise it's not something related to your secret ◉‿◉*I muttered a cuss word, pocketing the phone. No way was I not talking to Chloe first.Nora could not be trusted. Seriously. So, I got out of the car even before a guard could saunter over, heading straight inside.Chloe was in my parlor when I got in, slight sur

Dale had gone out that night, and didn't come back until eleven p.m.He'd been acting very strange when he walked in, and every question I asked ended with the same answers; *Everything's fine. I just had a long day.*He didn't even tell me where he'd gone. That was when I suspected that something was wrong.Usually I'd share my concerns with Emery, but as it was, she already wasn't on good terms with him so there was no use adding fuel to her dislike. And so, the next morning, when Tina showed up, I decided I was going to talk to her about it.Something told me she might know something about it.“Hey love bird!” She greeted the moment she walked in, throwing me in a big hug. “Have I told you how much I adore your dramatic entrance to the wedding?”“Countless times.” I returned the hug. “What's up with you?”She pulled apart, a wide smile on her lips. “The party with my friends was lit! We played so many games I never thought could even be possible.”“Well I'm glad someone had fun.”“

“No.” I muttered, head shaking like that would erase what was on my screen. “No No No No.”This couldn't be happening.Oh gosh, how could I have been so careless?I should've known. I should've known that the media are hungry for any juicy sight. As long as it brought them views. What was I thinking? Goodness, what on earth had I been thinking when I hugged Cole in a public place. What would Dale think? How would he react?Shoot, he'd be mad. He was bound to be furious.I ran a hand through my hair, dropping my laptop as I rose to my feet, involuntarily taking to pacing back and forth like that'd bring a solution. After a few breaths to calm myself, I dialled his number. Just to be sent to voicemail. That made me cup a fistful of hair in my hand. “No.”This shouldn't be happening. At least not now, when we were just a few days in.Quickly, I put on my slippers, then hurriedly left the house for my car.“Take me to Dale's.” I quickly told the driver, who heeded, driving off. All the w

The next morning, I message Cole, asking if he'd be able to meet up.His reply came an hour later, *Sure, where?*So I sent him the address to a coffee shop, then went to take a shower, changing into a red long sleeved top tucked in a gray baggy trousers.“Where are you off too?” Emery had asked once I got down the stairs, my hair packed up in a neat bun.“I'm meeting with Cole.” She nodded. “Alright.”Then I noticed her own dressing. “Are you going somewhere?”“Yeah, I'll be taking Donald to Sam's place. That's where he'll spend the weekend,” then she muttered, “apparently.”This obviously distressed her, so I had to head over, placing a hand on her shoulder. “I know this is gonna be a little weird for you, but believe me, every child needs to be with their dads. Even if it's just for the weekend.”She nodded, offering a small smile. “Yeah, I know.”I gave her a warm hug before saying my bye, then leaving for the car, which drove me straight to the coffee shop.Cole was already wait

Sophie took in a deep breath, muttering. “Oh gosh, how did I get here that this bitch gets to talk back at me this way.”Dale's frown made her huff, grabbing her luggage as she stomped off.Amber glared at me before following her.All I did was roll my eyes, not interested in the drama.Dale moved over, his arm finding my waist, as he gave my forehead a peck. “I'm so sorry about all these.”“It's okay,” I mean, I wasn't going to just sit back and cry if she tried being insultive.Obviously.Also, it wasn't like I was living with Dale.So I won't have to see her everyday.“You sure?”“She's your sister Dale, and she's in a real situation right now. I'm not going to be the reason you don't help your family when they're in need.” His family hated me, and I felt the same way.But that had nothing to do with him or his relationship with them. And I wasn't going to stop that.“You always find ways to make me love you more every day.” He rubbed my cheek with his thumb, giving my lips a peck
