NC WANTS TO POACH YOU

She carelessly picked up the phone but before she could even say 'hello' he spoke up, "Qin Qin, are you awake?" 

"Yes, what's up?"

"I have to talk to you about something. Can we meet up?" he asked nervously.

"Sure, at Down Town café at 10." She replied without a second thought.

"Okay!" and he hung up.

Li Jin used his usual tone, the polite and causal one but Qin Yue could sense both excitement and hesitation in his voice, so it must be something really important so she didn't refuse and immediately agreed to meet up.

At Down Town café by ten, Qin Yue entered wearing a hat and cooling glass and immediately spotted Li Jin at a corner seat. 

"Am here, tell me what is it." She spoke as she took her seat. Maybe Li Jin had still not compiled up his courage to tell her the fact.

What if she gets angry? What if she thinks that am trying to abandon her because of her current state? Will my actions be considered as striking someone when he is at his worse? But, NC is so capable…They will surely take care of her! But what if she doesn't understand it?

His thought process hindered as he suddenly remembered that this was that golden opportunity a person gets only once in their life and Qin Yue had to make good use of it. Suddenly he gained an unknown spirit as he asked with a casual tone, "Qin Qin, what are your thoughts about changing companies?" Qin Yue couldn't really interpret his thoughts as she confusedly asked, "Why would you ask me that? You guys are really kicking me out?"

"No, no! How can we do that?" he refuted immediately.

"Then, what's up with this question?" she asked with a giggle.

Li Jin hesitated a little before letting it go, "Actually…NC studios want to poach you!" Qin Yue was stunned for a while and stayed silent for a while as she processed what he said. 

NC actually wanted to take her in? No way…

"Jin Ge, you are kidding, right?" she couldn't believe on her ears. Li Jin relaxed a bit, her expressions showed that she was not mad about it rather excited. 

"I wouldn't dare to, Qin Qin. If am lying then I would be stuck by lighting a thousand times now…" Li Jin crossed his heart, he was serious this time. Qin Yue was a bit dazed, companies tend to poach on big shots in the industry but it was first time they are trying to catch on a celebrity who have lost popularity a long time ago. NC was a bit...weird. 

She inquired Li Jin why they wanted to take her in for which he replied, "I too don't know, it happened yesterday at the bar…" Li Jin ended up narrating her the whole story without even missing a coma or inverted come. Qin Yue was hell happy, why won't she be.

She well knew that she will be doomed if she continued to stay with her current agency and it was like a huge opportunity for her. She might be crazy if she turns down this offer but, what about Li Jin? If she leaves the agency not only will she loose her manager and assistant but will also lose a friend who have been with her with every thick and thin. Won't it be like abandoning him?

The sweet smile on her face started to fade; she couldn't make herself to turn her back to her only friend. She took a deep breath and asked, "Jin Ge, what about you?" Li Jin was a little clumsy but he was super smart at these aspects. He immediately smiled and replied, "Qin Qin, don't be guilty. Though I have nurtured you to what are you today but life is all about moving on. I have put my efforts on you to see you at the top not to be cornered. No one is happier than me about you going to another company." 

Qin Yue felt better after hearing to his points but she couldn't help but laugh, "Jin Ge, you sure are a good employee! Convincing an artist to leave your company and go to others." Seeing her smile he forgot all his worries, he explained, "Golden Age is not the same company as before; they have easily abandoned you. They have turned their back upon you so it is alright for you to do so."

But what he just said were not just word of impulse, he was indeed true.
