Let me go

Alexa's heart was pounding as she struggled to make sense of her situation. She tried to remember the events that led up to this moment, but her memories were hazy.

The last thing she remembered was Lucian writhing in pain from Lucifer's stab wounds and Lucifer's confessions. What came after was a blur.

"Ouch!" The sharp ache at the back of her head intensified, and she winced as she reached up to touch the area. Panic rose like a tide within her, threatening to overwhelm her senses. She had to think fast and stay calm.

The pop music blaring through the stereo provided an incongruous backdrop to her fears, and she shot a sidelong glance at the driver.

He was handsome, with dark hair and a clean-shaven jaw, but his steely eyes held a coldness that sent shivers down her spine. She recognized him immediately. It was Lucifer. Where the hell was he taking her? She turned her gaze outside, it seemed they had left town.
