Chapter 3

last update Last Updated: 2025-07-16 15:49:26

One moment they were just sitting in silence after discussing the terms of their so-called deal, and the next thing she knew, he was telling her to come with him. At bago pa siya makatanggi o makapagtanong, nasa loob na siya ng sasakyan nito, heading somewhere she never expected.

“To a dinner,” iyon lang ang sinabi ng lalaki. Walang dagdag na paliwanag, walang pagkakataon para mag-back out.

A massive gate, trimmed hedges, warm yellow lights peeking through tall windows. It all screamed money, heritage, and a kind of prestige na hindi siya kailanman naging bahagi.

The Foreman estate.

She straightened her dress, checked her reflection through the tinted car window, and then took a deep breath.

Holy shit! She cursed in her head.

The place was elegant and definitely intimidating.

She didn’t belong here, and she knew it.

But Estevan didn’t seem to care. He placed a light hand on the small of her back and whispered close to her ear, “just keep up.”

At tumango lang siya, masking her nerves with a soft smile.

The woman looked like she was in her mid-sixties—elegant, poised, and dressed like someone who carried the Foreman name like armor.

“Mother,” tugon ni Estevan, then turned to her. “This is Eloise.”

She smiled politely, just enough not to look intimidated.

“Ah. So you’re the girlfriend.”

But before she could respond, another figure came walking down the hallway.

Pamilyar. Pero hindi dapat.

“Nice to meet you,” Elias said, extending his hand.

Pinilit niyang ngumiti habang kinakamayan ito. “You too.”

He smiled at her again, polite and smooth, like he was the kind of man who knew how to charm every room he walked into.

“Estevan.”

They both turned around.

“This must be the young woman.”

Eloise offered a slight nod. “Good evening, sir.”

As soon as she sat at the table, she felt eyes on her—evaluating, dissecting. The mother was composed but curious. The father was calculating. Elias was smiling too easily. Whereas Estevan was watching everyone, as if weighing every breath in the room.

“So, Eloise,” panimula ng ginang habang nagbubuhos ng wine. “What do you do?”

“I work at a small café downtown that I own po. I also manage part of the books,” sagot niya nang kalmado.

“We need more people like that. Focused. Hardworking.”

Napatingin si Estevan sa kan’ya, and she could feel a subtle sense of pride in his eyes—like she passed an invisible test.

“And how did you two meet?” tanong ulit ng ina ni Estevan habang nagsisimula nang kumain.

“Through her cafe, I once went there,” Estevan cut in before she could even say anything.

But then she ignored it.

Meanwhile, Elias kept observing her from across the table, every now and then taking slow sips of wine, eyes were unreadable.

“So,” sabay tingin ni Elias sa kapatid. “You’re serious this time?”

“Why do you ask?” balik ni Estevan, calm but guarded.

“Well, she’s here, isn’t she? That’s new.”

The table fell into a brief silence. The tension was subtle but alive—like two lions pretending they weren’t in the same territory.

Eloise tried to look calm, but deep inside, she was watching every word, every glance.

Elias looked friendly and approachable, always smiling at the right time, always saying the right thing. But underneath that charm, she could feel the tension. Like he was testing her every move.

Estevan, on the other hand, stayed quiet…too quiet. His eyes kept darting between her and Elias, as if he was waiting for something to happen.

“More?” tanong nito sa kan’ya.

She nodded. “Thank you.”

There was something off about Elias Foreman. And the more she stayed around this family, the more she realized that maybe—just maybe—she was stepping into something far darker than she expected.

The rain had softened a little, but inside her chest, the storm had only worsened. She could still feel Estevan on her skin—his breath on her lips and his delicate touch she almost wanted to give in.Damn him.It would’ve been so easy to let it happen. To forget the plan. To fall.Pero hindi siya pumunta rito para maromansa. She was here for the truth. For revenge. For her stepsister. She heaved a sigh. Kailangan niya ng tubig. She got up and grabbed the hotel-style robe hanging on the bathroom door, wrapping it tightly around her cotton shorts and borrowed white shirt. She cracked the door open and peeked out.Madilim ang mahaba at malawak na hallway. The vintage torch lights on the walls flickered softly, casting golden shadows against the cream wallpaper. Tahimik ang buong bahay at nakakabingi ang katahim

It was already nine in the evening when Eloise and Estevan decided to go home. Eloise stiffened. She didn’t even have to look back—ramdam na niya kaagad ang titig ni Elias sa batok niya, malamig at parang may gustong tuklasin."I have an important meeting tomorrow," sagot ni Estevan, his voice was low but had a final tone to it. But of course, Elias wouldn’t allow them."Sayang naman," tuloy nito at huminto mismo sa harap ni Eloise. He threw her a glance before continuing. "You rarely visit, and the weather’s terrible tonight. Dangerous even. Might be better if you stay."Napakagat si Eloise sa loob ng kan’yang pisngi, tahimik na nagdadasal na sana’y hindi pumayag si Estevan. It sounded

Her chest felt tight, as if every glance from Elias during dinner had been a weight pressing down on her ribs. The moment she stepped out, malamig ang simoy ng hangin, pero hindi iyon sapat para mapawi ang tensyon sa katawan niya. The garden was beautiful—manicured hedges, white stone paths, and lantern lights flickering like fireflies. At hindi nga siya nagkamali.“I figured I’d find you here,” Elias said, voice too smooth, too casual. May dala-dala itong isang baso ng brandy. Lumapit ito na para bang wala siyang tinatago, pero sa likod ng magaan nitong ngiti, Eloise could feel the sharpness. “So..

She couldn’t help but keep replaying the moments from last night in her head. She hated how clearly she remembered it. She hated how it affected her right now to the point na hindi na siya gaanong nakaka-focus sa pagma-manage ng cafe niya. And the fact that he offered her a deal to be his girlfriend for three months? Nahihibang na ito. He didn’t even tell her kung ano’ng rason niya, but she accepted it anyway. Ding. The bell above the door rang. She looked up to greet who it was, pero nang nakita niya ang matangkad at matipunong si Estevan, she froze in her place. Mali

  • How to Break a Billionaire's Heart   Chapter 1

Despite her head screaming for danger, her body was saying otherwise. A soft moan escaped from her mouth when he gently pushed her against the wall, his hands were once again roaming her body. “Come on.” It was freaking PH-C. A freaking penthouse. Estevan is really THAT rich. She could hear her heart pounding so
