Lana’s POV

We continue to stare at each other, his blood red eyes completely still. He doesn’t even appear to blink. When he suddenly leans back in his chair, swinging a leg up and crossing it over the other one. Just like how my adopted Dad would sit, urgh!

He quickly stands, making me flinch and his smile fades as he frowns.

“My attendance is needed. Please remain here so we can finish our conversation.” Shifters enter and their scent fills the room. It is overwhelmingly sickening. Hallen looks at me as he stands. “I don’t need you vomiting again. Perhaps you will feel more confident if Freya is here?”

I nod my head and he sends the shifters away, asking them to send Freya. It’s a few minutes before she appears and her eyes dart to me.

“Sam is safe.” She links me while keeping her head bowed. I didn’t even realise Sam was here. In my own selfishness, I had completely forgotten about my half brother. I hoped he was okay.
