Chapter 3

Author: The Evil Villain
Amidst the flood of insults, I opened the video Josie had posted.

On screen, she looked exhausted. Her eyes were red and swollen, as if she had just finished crying.

“Does anyone understand what I’m going through?” she said, her voice trembling. “I was harassed on campus. That man made lewd gestures toward me in a public place. I asked him to apologize, but he…”

Tears streamed down her face as she cried.

“I reported it to the university, but they refused to take action just because his brother teaches here. I really don’t know what to do anymore. Please… someone help me.”

The so-called evidence she presented was an edited video and photoshopped chat screenshots. She even pinned my contact information in the comments.

In the video, I could be seen glancing in her direction before turning away and briefly placing my hand on my pants.

The live chat exploded at this point.

[He’s so disgusting! Can perverts like this just die?]

[Why isn’t the university expelling him? We send our daughters here to study, not to be harassed by creeps!]

[I don’t see anything wrong. What if he was just scratching an itch?]

[Posting his contact info like this feels excessive, doesn’t it?]

But every comment defending me vanished almost as soon as it appeared. Josie deleted them one by one, carefully steering public opinion.

Just as I was about to post my evidence, my advisor kicked my dorm room open with Josie and a crowd of coursemates.

He pointed at me in anger.

“Owen Xander, look what you’ve done! Your classmates couldn’t tolerate this anymore and reported you to me!

“The university has decided to suspend you. You may return once this incident dies down. During this period, go home and reflect on your behavior!”

I took a deep breath and said helplessly, “Mr. Bonn, you know about my condition. I have a skin disease. Wouldn’t a simple clarification be enough? Why does the university have to suspend me?”

Mr. Bonn’s tone grew impatient.

“How am I supposed to know what you were doing at that moment? The situation online is already out of control. The university needs to contain the damage first. If you clarify now, it will only drag the school into controversy. As a student here, can’t you think about the university?”

I let out a cold laugh and said, “So I deserve to be framed? If what she said was true, why didn’t she go straight to the police?”

When my coursemates heard that, they glared at me angrily.

“Owen, what do you mean? Do you really think a girl like Josie would risk her reputation just to frame you?”

“She’s severely depressed because of your harassment, and all you’re getting is a suspension! What more do you want?”

Another coursemate raised his phone and filmed me.

“You still won’t admit your mistake? Fine. I’ll just let everyone see what kind of person you really are!”

At that moment, my brother, Henry Xander, stepped out from the crowd.

He looked down at me, his expression dark and cold.

“Kneel!”

I stared at him and sneered inwardly.

Everyone who had hurt me in my past life was standing right here.

The louder they yelled at me today, the more spectacular their downfall would be when public opinion finally turned against them.

It was not just Josie but also Henry who was swept up in the scandal.Netizens soon discovered that the paper he had co-authored with Josie contained extensive data falsification and manipulation. Even more absurdly, Josie had used his academic reputation to publish another paper that fabricated legal provisions entirely. It was eye-opening.When I saw everything, I almost laughed out loud at my working desk.Who would have thought that the flawless persona she had painstakingly constructed would collapse so completely? Before long, the university was flooded with formal complaints regarding their academic misconduct. Faculty committees concluded that Henry was unfit to continue teaching.Their punishments were delivered very swiftly.Because of confirmed academic fraud and falsification, Henry was stripped of his lecturer position. His alma mater even revoked both his master’s and doctoral degrees. As for Josie, she not only lost her qualification for graduate school, but her p

[Exactly! Just look at his gaze! He clearly wants her to take off her clothes to display her wounds. That’s disgusting!]Henry angrily slammed his hands on the table.“Josie, at a time like this, when he’s already smearing you and spreading lies, just roll up your sleeves and show everyone exactly how he bullied you on campus!”Josie’s eyes reddened instantly. She bit her bottom lip hesitantly and glanced toward the livestream camera. Then, tears streamed down her face.“I’m sorry. I lied…”She could not complete her sentence and trailed off.It was only after repeated urging from the crowd and the live chat alike that she finally told her so-called “truth.”In her version of events, we had once shared a brief romantic relationship. After we broke up, I supposedly continued harassing her, refusing to let go. Left with no other choice, she claimed she had resorted to this method just to make me stop.I disagreed with her twisted logic, but I had to admit that she was really go

“I know I was wrong. I shouldn’t have made this public. I apologize to you. Can we just pretend none of this ever happened?”I looked at her in surprise. She really was scheming to the bone. With just a few carefully chosen sentences, she had washed her hands clean, painting herself as the reasonable victim and branding me as the campus bully.Just like in the past, she completely sidestepped the fact that she had posted my personal information online as though it were some insignificant detail not worth mentioning.Henry glared at me in fury as if I were his enemy and not his own brother.“Owen, what kind of monster have you become?! Is this what I taught you? I never imagined you’d turn into a bully!“What did you promise me back then? What did you promise me back then? Didn’t you swear you’d study hard and straighten yourself out? I was relieved. I truly thought you’d grown up. When you handed me that paper, I believed you had changed. Who would’ve thought you got it by bully

“Let’s also talk about how she used that paper to secure her graduate school spot. I wrote that paper. I gave it to you because I thought you needed publications for your appraisal this year. Yet somehow, it ended up in her hands. Don’t you think you owe me an explanation?”The moment Henry heard that, his composure cracked. He knew very well that if this were just defamation, things could still be smoothed over with an apology. But once academic misconduct was involved, it was a different story altogether. That would be academic fraud. And if it were confirmed, not only would Josie be finished, but Henry would lose his lecturer position and face a full investigation.“Even if this was just a misunderstanding, did you have to blow it up this far? Don’t you know that Josie needs two more years to graduate? If you do this, how’s she supposed to stay at the university?”For a moment, I almost could not believe my ears. These were words coming from my own brother!“Henry Xander, are

[Look, this disgusting man posted a video!][He still has the nerve to upload a video? I’ll tear him apart!]The moment my video appeared, the live chat erupted. Some people did not even bother watching it before launching into abuse. But many people still clicked and watched my video. The moment they finished watching, the chat fell into stunned silence. No one had expected me to actually have evidence, especially my brother Henry. His chest heaved with rage, and his eyes filled with hatred.Josie, on the other hand, went deathly pale. Her body trembled uncontrollably, as if she had seen a ghost.“It must be fake! These videos are obviously edited. It can’t be real!“Would I really risk my own reputation just to frame him? Would I destroy my own future like that?“And what would I even gain? Yes, I want the graduate school recommendation, but I want to earn it through my own ability and effort! I want to compete with Owen openly, not with such despicable methods!”The net

“What have I taught you? I told you not to use my name to threaten other students. Did you even listen to me?“You’re despicable! You aren’t a part of the Xander family from now on!“I already spoke to the dean. Your disciplinary action has been upgraded to expulsion, effective immediately. I have to put my principles before my family. You’ll only grow after facing the consequences you deserve!”The live chat erupted.[What kind of jerk makes his own brother disown him?][And he is a university student! This person should be in jail!]When I read the live chat, a storm of emotions churned in my chest.Even though I had known Henry would betray me, it still hurt more than I expected. It was only after my death in my past life that I learned the truth. Henry had always harbored feelings for Josie. That was why he had helped her frame his own brother without hesitation.Since he no longer acknowledged me as family, why should I acknowledge him?I clenched my fists and looked str
