The chamber fell silent.

King Orion stood at the entrance of the final chamber, his ancient royal robes moving slightly in the cold wind that seemed to come from nowhere.

His crimson eyes rested on Lyra.

“You’ve finally come home.”

Lyra tightened her grip around the silver pendant her mother had given her.

She could feel the Heart of the Moon beating inside her.

Not loudly.

Not painfully.

But steadily.

Like something ancient had finally recognized its owner.

Karl stepped closer to Lyra.

“Stay behind me.”

Lyra shook her head.

“No.”

Karl looked at her.

“This isn’t the time to prove you can face everything alone.”

“I’m not alone,” Lyra replied quietly.

Her eyes moved across the chamber.

Karl.

Lucien.

Arnold.

Adrian.

Caelan.

Alaric.

Even Master Thorne stood behind her.

For the first time, Lyra understood something.

Being queen didn’t mean standing above everyone.

It meant standing with them.

Orion smiled.

“You’re beginning to understand.”

Lucien immediately raised his weapon.

“Don’t listen to him.”

Orion laughed softly.

“You still distrust me, Lucien.”

“I remember what happened the last time I trusted a king.”

The smile disappeared from Orion’s face.

“You remember only what you were allowed to remember.”

Everyone froze.

Master Thorne stepped forward.

“What does that mean?”

Orion lifted one hand.

The walls of the chamber suddenly illuminated.

Images appeared across the ancient stone.

A young Queen Evelina.

King Alaric.

Adrian.

Caelan.

And a fourth figure.

A woman none of them recognized.

She was holding a newborn baby.

Lyra stared.

“Who is that?”

Orion looked directly at her.

“Your birth mother.”

Lyra’s breath caught.

“That was my mother.”

“No,” Orion said.

“She was the woman who raised you in the years you remember.”

Lyra’s face went pale.

Alaric stepped forward.

“Orion…”

“Tell her the truth.”

Alaric lowered his head.

Lyra turned toward him.

“Father?”

Alaric looked at his daughter.

For several seconds, he said nothing.

Then he whispered,

“You were born differently from every other Moon Heir.”

The chamber seemed to shrink around Lyra.

“What does that mean?”

Alaric’s voice trembled.

“You were not supposed to inherit the Heart of the Moon.”

Lyra stared at him.

“You were supposed to create it.”

Silence.

Even Adrian looked shocked.

Karl stepped closer to Lyra.

“What does that mean?”

Orion answered.

“The Heart was never merely a relic.”

He pointed toward Lyra.

“It was a living power.”

Lyra touched her chest.

“And it chose me?”

“No.”

Orion’s eyes narrowed.

“It was created from you.”

A strange pulse moved through the chamber.

The silver pendant in Lyra’s hand began glowing.

Master Thorne suddenly stepped back.

“No…”

Lucien looked at him.

“What is it?”

Master Thorne stared at Lyra.

“I’ve seen this symbol before.”

He pointed toward the pendant.

“It belonged to the first Moon Queen.”

Lyra looked down.

“But why would my mother have it?”

Master Thorne’s expression changed.

“Because Queen Evelina wasn’t the first person who was supposed to raise you.”

Lyra’s heart sank.

“Then who was?”

Orion slowly turned toward the ancient door behind him.

“The woman who gave birth to you.”

The door opened.

Inside was a small chamber.

At its center stood a stone cradle.

And beside it

a portrait.

Lyra walked toward it.

Her footsteps echoed.

She looked at the woman in the painting.

Long dark hair.

Gentle eyes.

A silver crescent on her forehead.

And the same small mark Lyra had carried since childhood.

Lyra stopped breathing.

“I know her.”

Everyone stared at her.

“How?” Karl asked.

Lyra touched her forehead.

“I’ve seen her in my dreams.”

The woman in the portrait suddenly smiled.

Then the painting changed.

A message appeared beneath it.

LYRA, IF YOU ARE SEEING THIS, THEN THE HEART HAS AWAKENED.

Lyra’s hands began trembling.

The message continued.

I AM NOT YOUR ENEMY.

A second line appeared.

NEITHER IS ORION.

Everyone turned toward the king.

Orion’s expression remained unreadable.

Then the final message appeared.

THE ONE WHO STOLE YOUR CHILDHOOD IS STILL ALIVE.

Lyra’s eyes widened.

“Who?”

The chamber shook.

A deep sound echoed beneath the floor.

Then a familiar voice whispered from the darkness.

“Me.”

Lyra turned.

Selena stepped out of the shadows.

But she was no longer wearing the crown.

She looked frightened.

“I didn’t know they would wake this soon.”

Karl immediately moved in front of Lyra.

“Selena.”

She raised her hands.

“I’m not here to fight.”

Lucien narrowed his eyes.

“Then why are you here?”

Selena looked at Lyra.

“Because I finally learned the truth.”

Lyra stared at her.

“What truth?”

Selena swallowed.

“Your childhood wasn’t stolen by the Shadow King.”

She looked toward Orion.

“Or by Blood King.”

Then her gaze shifted toward Alaric.

“It was stolen by someone who loved you.”

Lyra’s face fell.

“Who?”

Selena pointed toward the doorway.

A figure appeared.

Lyra froze.

The person walked slowly into the chamber.

Everyone recognized him.

Karl’s expression hardened.

Lucien raised his weapon.

Alaric whispered his name.

“Caelan…”

But Caelan wasn’t looking at them.

He was looking only at Lyra.

And in his hand

he held a second silver pendant.

Exactly like hers.

Caelan smiled sadly.

“I’m sorry, Lyra.”

The Heart inside her pulsed once.

Then a voice whispered inside her mind.

RUN.

Lyra looked at Caelan.

And for the first time, she understood.

The greatest secret of Lunaris had never been about who betrayed the kingdom.

It was about who had protected her from the truth.

And that person was standing directly in front of her.
