The bus trip out of the city was relatively peaceful. Mildred had gradually caused the mist to disappear and so the driver could easily drive his bus through the road.
Silas was calm now but Mildred still ensured he could not perceive any smell just in case the incident that happened the previous time happened again.
She thought about what all the blood she saw on the ground could mean. She knew it was deliberately poured all over but how they did it in the daytime without arousing the attention of people made her surprised.

Mildred held Silas in her arms as she wailed his death in anguish. It was really touching sight to behold. In the moment he died, the truth potion he shared with her expired and her sense of loyalty to him ended but the love she had for him was unchanged and she wept bitterly for him.
