LOGINAva’s POV
Jaxon immediately put me down. “I asked you not to come back, but clearly you never listen now, do you?” He grumbled with his usual demeanor as he walked towards the Cabin. I followed by his side immediately, afraid that the Dog would bite me if I even strayed from his corner. I was still terrified, and who wouldn’t be afraid of such a huge dog? “Are you injured?” He asked softly as we walked inside. He turned to me, a look of concern flickered in his eyes. His stare was gentle, the anger gone, but still no smile. I didn’t answer, I was too disoriented to answer. Too many things were happening at once and my brain was trying to keep off. The sight of the half naked Demi god before me was not helping. “Sit down!” He commanded, pointing to a chair close by. For some reason, all I wanted to do was obey. I sat down, watching him closely. I watch his large sweaty muscles contract as he cracks open a coconut and pours the milk into a cup. “Drink this, you are unnerved. I can hear your heartbeat from here, it should make you feel better.” he muttered, handing me the cup, my eyes meticulously tracing the veins on his arm while he did this. I accepted the cup and without delay, gushed it down; the coconut water was delicious, better than whatever it was they sell to us in Chicago. I felt more relaxed, just like he had said I would. “It is nice, thank you.” I finally spoke. He hummed without responding, and then began clearing the coconut shells. I turned my eyes to the dog sitting at the entrance, panting with his long tongue out. “Is he yours?” I asked, perhaps a foolish question. He didn’t respond to that; acted like he didn’t hear. My attention derailed again. I couldn’t help but stare at his well defined abs. I was tempted to ask about his tattoos but I already knew the response I would get; complete silence. “Fine! I am sorry for the things I said, and for coming back here.” I apologized, knowing those were the words he was waiting to hear. “I didn’t mean to annoy or defile your orders, I just wandered off with a need to vent and somehow found myself back here,” I explained in honesty. He finally looked at me again. “I saw you raging past, soliloquizing like a crazy woman. What happened back there at the mansion?” He asked in a low voice. I got up immediately. “You saw me?” I asked in curiosity. “Yes… I was on top of the Coconut tree when you walked past.” He admitted. I frowned immediately, rushing to him. “So you saw me walking right into your very dangerous dog and you did nothing?!” I yelled. “I did something… I came down and saved you.” He replied nonchalantly. Good lord, what kind of man was he? “Are you going to tell me what made you so mad or not?” I folded my arms and rolled my eyes at him. “It is your Brother, I found him in bed with Amira.” I confessed. “Oh.” He muttered casually. That was his only response as he turned away to the other room in the cabin. I chased after him. “Just oh? I just told you that I saw your brother in bed with your cousin's girlfriend, why are you not surprised?” “Because I am not. Liam was never over that girl and you should know that, after all you are his girlfriend.” He chuckled, his voice dripping with sarcasm. I rushed to walk in front of him. “She is using him, Amira doesn’t love him but he is blind to a fault! He can’t see it for himself, ” I said. “Hmm… Maybe.” “I have to save him from her, will you help me?” I suddenly asked. He paused and stared at me, a look of surprise on his face, then blatantly… He said no! “What? He is your brother, she will ruin his life if he keeps chasing after her. Not just his but that of your cousin Josh as well.” “Don’t care. Don’t wanna know.” He muttered and turned away again. I couldn’t believe he was being less concerned. What even could the quarrel between the two brothers be? “Hey! Don’t be so mean! You are his brother, if you speak to him, he might listen to you.” I chased after Jaxon again. “Why won’t you help?” I persisted, reaching out to touch him. Jaxon grabbed my arm instantly and pushed me back to the wall, gently pinning my wrist and back to the wooden wall. “I do not care what my brother does with his life, he is an adult and can make his own decisions. So don’t bother me anymore with this, Miss Taylor! Do you understand?” he growled at me. I froze, my heart racing. He was standing very close to me, his body bare and wet with sweat. I could feel his warm breath on my face, his eyes slowly moved to my lips and as if wrestling with demons, he reluctantly looked back up at my eyes. Those gray eyes, I had never seen a more intimidating pair of eyes. And when I summoned the courage to look into them, I never wanted to look away, afraid that they would vanish. “You are hurting me…” I whined, finally feeling the pain from his tight grip on my wrist. T. B. C!Ava's POVI don't know how long I stood there gazing silently at him in admiration, but I eventually found my legs and walked to him.He heard my footsteps and looked up.“Hi,” I said with a little smile.“Miss Taylor, missing me already?”I scoffed and shook my head. I am not surprised, the son of a bitch enjoyed teasing me.“Don't get ahead of yourself. The ladies were just worried that you would starve your lonely self to death because you are nervous around women, so I offered to save your life and bring you food.”He laughed and struck the axe straight into the wood. “Nice one, Miss Taylor. You have jokes.”I handed the food to him and he turned to the cottage.“Hello? Aren't you forgetting to say something?”“Why should I thank you? The food is mine.” He replied plainly.I furrowed my brows in disbelief. “Arrogant piece of shit!” I cussed and folded my arms in annoyance. He sneered and pushed open the door. “Don't just stand there, Miss Taylor. Come and eat with me.” He invited
Ava's POVI gasped and rushed back to punch him again. “I hate you! Forget about it. Just so you know, I was only interested in joining so I could make you carry me around the ranch on your back all night.” I grinned.“Really? That sounds so kinky. Where was this side of you that night?”“Oh my God!” I made a disgusted face. “Is that why you gave me a five?”“Ah, you remember.” He chuckled. “Since you are dying to know…”“Huh? I actually don't care, but… go on,” I shrugged, letting out a huff. The horse neighed.“Even Storm knows that you are lying.” He taunted.“Okay fine! Why the hell did you give me a five? Tell me!” I demanded, still feeling offended.Jaxon chuckled, he must enjoy getting me worked up.“Ava, you are endowed and your body is amazing, but you lay there all night like a log of wood. As much as I like to dominate, I also love a woman who participates. We didn't have sex that night, I fucked you.” He stated clearly.Even though I saw the sense in his words, I still fel
Ava's POVJaxon tucked a strand of hair behind my ear and then he kissed me. I kissed him back, savoring that familiar taste of his lips.I felt the tension fizzle away from my body and I felt more relaxed. The way he moved flawlessly between my upper and lower lips, like he had studied them.I felt his clothes slip off my hand to the floor. Closing my eyes, I slowly caressed his bare body up to his broad shoulders, leaning on my toes to deepen the kiss.He held my waist and pulled me closer to his body. Soon I felt my pants loosen. I had no idea he had unbuckled and pulled down the zipper, it was when he dipped his hand into my panties that I let out a subconscious moan and pushed him away.“Fuck off!” I laughed shyly while trying to catch my breath. If I had let him, he was definitely going to fuck me here and now; this man was such a sexual magnet, he could charm his way into my panties so easily and I wouldn't even know how it happened.“What?” He laughed.“You better kill those t
Ava's POVThe car glided onto the rough off-road as he drove into the Ranch. I felt a sense of relief and excitement swirl through me as we drove into that gate.“What is your name, Sir?” I suddenly asked the Chauffeur. He looked in the mirror and smiled. “Alfred, usually no one asks me that.”I smiled back. “Not many people know how to treat others right. Are you married, Sir?”“Yes… four kids, all in college now.”“Oh, that is amazing. Have you been working for the West family as a chauffeur for a long time?” I asked.“It depends on how you see it. Mr. West employed me almost ten years ago, but he only uses my services when traveling to the big cities; he is a terrible driver, but don't tell him I said so.” He winked in the rearview mirror and I laughed.“You didn't need to tell me, I have already seen him drive.” I said playfully.Through the mirror, I could see he had something on his tongue but he was hesitating to speak.“You can speak freely with me, Alfred.”He laughed softly.
Ava's POVI had mixed feelings as I packed my bags, it was Thursday morning and last night, Liam and I agreed to leave today. After taking my bath, I put on a tight jeans and a button shirt for comfort, then I went to check if Liam was ready.I was afraid to go say my goodbyes alone. Maria already knew that I was leaving, but the rest of the family were unaware.Grandma West who I had grown fond of in the short time was going to be the most difficult to face. But with Liam there, he would absolve most of the guilt.“Liam?” I called, knocking on his door.“The door is open!” I heard him yell in a loud voice.I could immediately tell he was in a good mood with how lighthearted he sounded.I pushed the door open and walked in to find him laughing while chatting over the phone. I couldn't help but wonder who he was talking to.And why wasn't he dressed up yet? Men are so lazy. Sometimes I envy their ability to bathe and throw clothes on in less than ten minutes; that's not even enough tim
Ava's POVAfter finding my strength, I proceeded to Liam's room and knocked but there was no response. I pushed the door open and found him drinking on the floor with his back against his bedframe. He was wearing a white suit inner jacket above a black shirt and white suit pants.“Liam, what are you doing?” I rushed to his side, taking the bottle from him.“It hurts, Ava, seeing them together, it hurts.” Tears rolled down his eyes as he spoke.“I know, Liam, I know exactly how you feel.” I consoled him.“No you don't, no one does.” He cried.I sighed and pulled his head to my chest. “It's alright, the pain is temporary, with time you will feel better.” I said to him.“Do you really think so, Ava?” He asked in tears.“Yes Liam, it always gets better. Come on, I know how difficult this is for you, but we should be there at the engagement. People are asking about you, it won't look good if you don't show.” I said.“I don't know, Ava. I don't know if I can do it, my heart is broken.”“I k
