Charlotte stayed in her room for the remainder of the day after her outburst. She didn't even emerge for dinner time. She was incredibly frustrated with Lord Hunt and had no idea what to think of the whole ordeal. Everything had taken a turn that she hadn't expected. While she was grateful to have more of an opportunity to get to know Lord Hunt this way, she also wasn't sure about his motives. There was some interest on both ends, but no clear stance on how deep it went or if it would go any further than it already had. The knock on Charlotte's bedroom door the next morning came as a surprise. She knew that Lord Hunt did not wake in the early hours.. It didn't make much sense then for someone to be knocking at her door. Charlotte knew that they were the only ones present in the castle now since he had dismissed everyone else. She almost rolled over to go back to sleep until the knock persisted. Unable to ignore it, she finally got herself out of bed and moved to open the door. Pulling it open, she was surprised to find a middle-aged woman standing on the other side. She was dressed in a plain gray dress, her graying hair tied back into a low ponytail. Charlotte didn't want to make it too obvious that she was curious about their unexpected guest. Even though she still wanted answers from Lord Hunt, her curiosity was enough for the moment to set those issues aside. Despite the fact that she was in the middle of a tangled mess with Lord Hunt, she still had a passion for history. This Lord Vincent Eclaire had a part he played in Lord Hunt's past, that much she had figured out from both the things that Lord Hunt told her and what she was able to find about him. An argument broke out behind her, she could hear the voices echoing in the hall while she ran down the corridor. She should have seen it while she was doing her research. Dinner started out in silence. Charlotte felt a little awkward sitting across the dining table from Lord Eclaire. Their plates were brought out to them by the kitchen staff that Lord Hunt had hired. Which was another oddity for Charlotte. She had only just gotten used to sharing the table with twelve other people and the plates having been passed down the line until everyone had one in front of them. The table felt empty now that she sat at it alone, even with Lord Eclaire there. He was nothing more than a stranger to her though, which might explain why she felt that way. Charlotte closed her eyes as the pain of Lord Hunt's bite washed through her. It stung like any other bite, but there was a rush behind it too. She had no idea how long he kept his fangs pressed into her skin, so by the time he started to ease the angry wound, it felt like several minutes had gone by. She struggled to get away from him before but as his lips and tongue moved to soothe the bite, Charlotte found herself clinging to him. The bite on her neck ended up being much more sensitive than the one on her shoulder. There wasn't anything she could do to try and stop the shuddering that kept running down her back the longer his touch lasted. With each reaction to his touch, she could feel the tingling start to pick up. It was the same sensation that she felt on the night she asked Lord Hunt to stay with her. Charlotte was escorted out of the room by Lord Eclaire, who insisted she come with him so that she could hear the conclusion to the story. She complied quietly, but couldn't help to look over her shoulder. Her mind was swimming with everything that had just happened. The brief discussion she had with Lord Hunt on his feelings towards her and then finding out she had been marked. It contradicted itself in the sense that if she was only there to replace a memory or if he had real feelings for her. She almost felt like he did it out of jealousy. Those thoughts she would have to push to the back of her mind. Charlotte had already decided that she would first learn the rest of their past before she tried to make sense of anything going on between herself and Lord Hunt. That meant that she needed to focus on figuring out the rest of this mystery instead of her own personal thoughts or feelings.
