TROUBLE IN PARADISE- CHAPTER THIRTY FIVE

"Yes... We have no other option due to a few complications," the nurse explained.

"If the Cesarean section is performed, will she recover?"

"Absolutely."

"May I sign the consent form since I am the only available person?"

"Of course, there is no need to delay," she replied and escorted me to the counter where I could complete the formalities.

The nurse returned to the operating room, leaving me feeling twice as anxious as before. I found it impossible to stay seated; instead, I paced nervously in the waiting area, murmuring every prayer that came to mind. Glancing at my phone, I noted that it was nearly dawn, 5:15 am. I made an effort to summon courage, although fear continued to grip me. Five minutes later, the doctor emerged from the operating room and reassured me, "Madam, she is out of danger, nothing to be concerned about."

"And the baby?"

"Both mother and baby are in good health. The nurses are tending to them."

I was overcome with joy. Finally, I was able to smile.
