Chapter 1

Lilith POV

Finally, the train came to a stop, and the passengers began to hassle their way through the door. The journey from my hometown into the city was a long one. Though the heat baked me through its fury, it was somewhat peaceful, just like home. I watched the dancing trees, Women, and children in cornfields enjoying summer. I smiled remembering my childhood, and what it used to be. As I exited the train, descending into the train station, I sat on a bench beside a man, his clothes were torn, untidy, and he smelled rancid, he kept gazing at me, he didn't even blink, and he wasn't going to look away. I was paranoid, so I clutched my luggage a little tighter. I looked around at the waiting families, welcoming their loved ones, I was wondering, where is my crazy ass best friend?

“LILY! LILY!”

I looked to my left to see a blonde vigorously waving and yelling my name,

“Lily...it's me!”

“Mel?” I whispered.

She was making her way through the thick crowd, I got up meeting her halfway.

“Lil,” she excitedly pulled me into a warm hug. Pulling away, I stared at her new hair color,

“Blonde huh?” Chuckling lowly, she rolled her eyes, hauling on my arm, “There is so much you've got to learn Lil.”

Outside the train station was a pink car, which seemed to be a Lamborghini,

“Wow, I've never seen a car like that, Well in magazines but wow.”

“You like it?” Mel questioned.

“Yes, well I don't know yet, but in pictures I do,” I excitedly scanned the car.

“Well what's mine, is yours,” Mel said waving around keys with a pink keychain.

“SHUT UP! This is seriously your car?” I yelled.

“Yes! Drop-dead serious, let's go!” I threw my bag in the back and hopped in the front seat,

“That's all?” Mel raised her eyebrow at my bag.

“What?” I shot back.

“So kill me god, tell me you didn't bring those ugly sundresses?”

“Well I like my dresses, Mel, thank you very much.”

“Well I don't, So we are going shopping.”

“I...I don't have that kind of money right now it's—”

“Don't worry about cash, I've got you, little sis,” It's been a long while since she has called me that, little sis.

The Mel I grew up with, had dark hair and love the matching sundresses our mothers would buy us, and even though she is four years older, she is my best friend, We grew up poor so our parents homeschooled us, and we had a lot of books, we didn't have a television, Well later on Mel family bought one but it didn't matter at least we had our imagination. This new person...blonde hair, revealing clothing, and a car. I am not complaining but where did she get the money, She is only a student, Well I can only hope it's legal.

“We are here,” Mel looked over at me smiling.

We parked in front of a Mall, Mel was the first to exit the car, I was hesitant because I didn't expect a city tour just yet, I am tired from the journey, I needed to rest.

“I don't know Mel, I am a little hungry and tired—”

“Hungry?” Mel interrupted “Why didn't you just say so? come on!” Inside the mall was a lot of food outlets, burgers, pizza, Chinese, corn dogs, tacos, etc. I honestly wanted to try everything,

“What you want to try first?” Mel winked at me, smiling and sticking out her tongue. Is that a snakes' eye-piercing? I internally asked myself, I didn't want to come off as judgmental or too much of a 'Ms perfect' so I said nothing,

“Burger is fine,” I sat at a table while Mel ordered our lunch, staring at the clock on the wall, I could see it's a little past midday, I scoffed at how my dress didn't exactly fit in with everyone else. Two tables away from me was a group of teenagers, the girls' hips and breast were underdeveloped, they wore too much makeup, and the boys didn't have facial hair, but instead their tiny shoulders, and thin biceps was noticeable. They were staring at me and whispering to themselves, so I waved to them with a friendly smile but instead they burst into laughter, one of the girls even formed an 'L' with her fingers, I didn't know what she was muttering to me,

Lower? Lover? Loo... Oh, Loser.

“Hey don't let them get to you, just a bunch of teenagers,” Mel sat down, sliding a red box with a 'M' on it.

“Why are they so mean? They are just kids,” I muttered low enough for Mel to hear.

“More like the devils' offspring's, ” Mel joked. I opened the box with the big 'M' on it and started to devour the burger. I've had a homemade burger before, but this tasted much better than the one back home.

“Hey slow down their champ,” Mel chuckled,

“We can try everything on the McDonald's menu if you like” I smiled though I was a little embarrassed about the fast pace at which I was eating,

“McDonald's?”

“Yea McDonald's, that's what the 'M' means,” Mel explained.

“Oh, I see,” I sipped my drink slowly. “Ready for your ultimate makeover?” Mel stared me down, dancing her eyebrows.

“I guess I am—”

“Come on!” Mel tugged my arm, pulling me up from the table, spilling my drink.

“My drink,” I groaned.

“We'll get another,” Mel continued to drag me behind her. We went inside a store I could tell Mel was familiar with, she knew where to find what, and she was super friendly with the staffers. I ran my fingertips across different types of fabric, testing the quality. It's an old trick my Mom taught me when I was younger, value my money's worth she would say, or in this case, Mel's money.

Pulling me from my thoughts and captivating my attention was a sleeveless, high side spilled black dress, this might sound strange but I got a sudden urge to just try it on. I didn't see someone who could assist me, I didn't see Mel either, but what I did see was a changing room. So I took the dress from the hanger and went inside.

It was a large room with a bench and a mirror in the corner,

“They can throw a party in here,” I muttered.

It was twice the size of my room back home, and I was a little jealous.

I made sure the door was securely closed before I stripped off my dress, slowly slipping into the new one, it clung to my body like it was made for me, I stared at my self in the mirror, my breast was perky and visible, the spilt at the side was high enough to expose my underwear, this dress screams whore but I...I like it.

“It's per—”

“—fect,” a deep voice completed my sentence for me. To my left, sitting on the bench was a man, fully clothed in full black, no whiteness in his eyes, and pointy short horns sticking out of his forehead, I wanted to scream but I couldn't bring my self to do it, it's like this man, this thing had me muted.

“Afraid?” he chuckled lowly, his voice deep and powerful, yet it was calm and charming at the same time. I gulped down the ball of fear at my throat,

“How...How did you get in here? I...didn't hear you come in.”

The strange man stood up, standing approximately six feet tall, slowly he approached me, and slowly I backed away, pressing my back against the wall, and in a blink, he appeared right in front me, his lips inches away from mine, and I didn't know if it was arousal or fright but my breathing got heavier the closer he got. I thought he was going to kiss me but instead, he sniffed my neck, inhaling my natural aroma. He licked my neck and this made down there excited, something I've never experienced before,

“Still a virgin aren't you Lilith?”

“How do you know my name?” I whispered. The man smiled widely at me, exposing sharp canines,

Was he going to eat me?

Was he going to rape me?

I close my eyes tightly waiting for the moment to be over, he lightly placed a kiss on my lips, Then I heard Mel shouting my name outside the changing door,

“Lil! You in there? Lil!” I opened my eyes and the man was gone, vanished into thin air, just as he came.
