Chapter 10: The Light
She was now in the second half of her yoga session when she heard the doorbell. She turned off the player on her phone and walked to the door while wiping the sweat on her body and neck. She is not expecting anyone and Jaymee could be here but he doesn’t need to use the doorbell.
She was surprised to see the man Keanna spent the few days she was in the light with. She didn’t expect he would visit Keanna and she doesn’t know a lot about them. Though she was nervous, she opened the door for him and smiled.
“You’re here,” she started when he entered the unit.

Kaia was in the middle of a meeting when Keanna took the light. Fortunately, she was there as an audience. Keanna almost went out of the room when she noticed people she doesn’t know sitting with her at the conference table. Then she saw Carrie, looking at her. The meeting ended after an hour and although she was not sure what the meeting was about, she knew it would be important for Kaia and hers in case Kaia goes dormant. She was watching TV when she heard what Jaymee said and she didn’t like it one bit. Wanting to show her disagreement with the decision she took the light but she was surprised to see another man in the room. She knows he likes Kaia more than her and the fact that Kaia is always out since she has to make sure that their system has what they need. For her (Kyla), she just wants to be able to enjoy her life but there are some things that stop her from having one. Kaia had to take the light from Kyla when she started to feel nervous and was about to break down as it is her job to take care of them. She needed to make sure that their system is in good condition and that they are not harmed in any way. She doesn’t know what happened when she was pulled back or what has transpired. She found herself in a cubicle and someone was knocking at the door. She looked down at herself and she was still wearing the clothes she usually wears in the office.
