29. Failed Attempt

Lui Xian sat by the fire, occupying himself with making lunch just at the corner of the little cabin far from the windows and the entrance. Smoke rose in the air giving off a smoky-like mist. His eyes were watery and red due to being exposed to fire for too long. He was afraid of irritating Feng Shao and so prepared everything quietly.

When he had first looked for a place to cook, he had hardly found any signs for such an activity. There had been no ashes anywhere that could indicate that Feng Shao had once cooked for himself. Even the pot he was using was accumulating dust in a corner, yearning to be enveloped by the yellow orangish flames that could make its base glow with a red hot tint.
