Chapter 36

Two weeks later, Daria had returned to work, and it was the close of the day.

Tired and exhausted she made her way to her car dragging her feet, fatigued by butt load of work that had piled up while she was in the fake honeymoon she was supposed to be enjoying.

Her face turned to her purse as she searched for her car keys and then she looked up and her eyes met Adrian.

Dressed in blu jeans and a leather jacket he leaned against the car, playing with his fingers tucked inside the pocket of his jacket as he waited paitently for her to arrive.

Daria blinked a few times as she looked at him, his hair, packed in a tight bun, she remembered when they were still teenagers as if it was yesterday, “what are you doing here” she asked pulling her eyes away from him.

“I came to take you on a bike ride home” he said with a sweet smile, pointing towards his bike parked closed to her car.

“Isn’t that dangerous”, she replied, “it isn’t my first bike ride, we used to ride together all the time back then, I remember you used up love it a lot” Adrian, said trying to convince her.

“I mean you just recovered, should you be driving this” she said nervously.

“I assure you, It is fine I drove here, and I would never ask you to do this if it will harm you” he replied holding out a helmet in front of her.

Daria waved her eyes from him, the helmet and her car anxiously, “if you don’t want to it’s fine” Adrian said his smile turned upside down as he heaved a sigh turning around to walk away.

“Okay I will go with you” Daria gave in, and his smile immediately came back as he helped her with the helmet and they drove off.

On the other side of the parking lot just enough to see the whole thing Nicholas sat in his SUV watching closely as Adrian rode away with Daria on his bike.

“Why did we come here” Ludwig, frustrated and bored asked impatiently, “like I said we are keeping an eye on my brother for his safety and fix that attitude”.

“You should stop following your brother, like this if Marius and his guys notice your patterns things are going to get ugly fast” he warned.

Nicholas jaw tightened on hearing ‘Marius’ name “drive” he commanded and his car followed after Adrian.

Adrian drove Daria to the Ex-presido cafe, as they stood into front of it staring into the sign.

“Do you remember” Adrian, took in a deep breath, “yes, Nicholas brought me here, on our first official date, when I saw it I knew I had a connection, I never knew that it was” she replied, as the memory of her moment with Nicholas in the cafe sprang up.

“We met here first” he said with a hint of jealousy laced around his words, taking her hand, “so catch me up to speed” he asked.

“On your life, I want to know everything, my life was held for eight years” he added.

“Well I went to college, got a business degree and now I help in my fathers business, that’s what led us back to Romania” she spilled, as she took a sip of her coffee.

An awkward silence settled between both of them, so Daria’s eyes began to wander and then she spotted Nicholas at the cop section and subconsciously her lips curled up in a smile.

“Ermm…. Excuse me I want to use the bathroom” she excused herself and headed for the bathroom.

Daria sneaked into, the VIP section, and sat in front of him, “why are you here, are you on a date, I thought we are keeping up a happily married couple front” she asked in a whisper.

Nicholas raised his brow at the sudden confrontation, “I am keeping an eye on my brother, I don’t want you to hurt him again, and I am keeping our deal” he replied.

Daria was about to reply, when she noticed some women, taking pictures of them and she immediately knew that they were, paparazzi.

Immediately she moved round the table, grabbed Nicholas face and kissed his lips, Nicholas was stunned.

But he didn’t protest and returned the kiss, when she noticed that they had gone, she pulled away.

“Paparazzi, no offense” she said as she stood up and walked back to seat with Adrian.

“Are you okay, you took a while in there” Adrian asked his forehead wrinkled with worry.

“I’m fine” she replied, and they wrapped up their meal and headed back.

Adrian drove, them home and walked Daria up to her bedroom, bidding her goodnight.

Just as he turned he saw Nicholas, climbinv up the stairs, “brother” Adrian, grabbed him in a hug.

“We have something important to talk about” he began as he let go of Nicholas.

“I think you and Daria should get a divorce” he said, dropping his request hot on Nicholas.

“What do you mean, did she say that” Nicholas asked, he wasn’t expecting what Adrian had just said especially not after the kiss he just shared with Daria earlier.

“No but I know we are getting closer, and I do not want you marriage to her to be a barrier in our relationship” he replied.

“Okay” Nicholas, replied and turned to his room, “brother, let’s grab a beer sometime” Adrian requested playfully.

Nicholas already, tightening his grip on the door knob declined, “oh I don’t do beer anymore” he said with a low tone.

Meanwhile Daria paced back and forth trying to figure out, how to close the deal she was working on.

Restless she tried to lay her head to rest but she kept jumping back to the paper.

An then she remembered she was married to the most successful billionaire businessman in the country, immediately she grabbed all her documents and headed for his room.

As she got to the door, Daria stopped she began to rethink her decision as she bit her lip staring at the large door in front of her.

“What do you want” Nicholas cold voice, echoed in the hall, startling Daria as she quickly turned around.

“I need your help with some work” she stuttered, as she turned around to see a shirtless Nicholas, sweat running down his chiseled abs, his perfectly cut her scattered in different clusters.

Daria took a large gulp as Nicholas began to walk closer to her, his waistline hanging just above his shorts.

His groin print could be seen faintly through his shorts and Daria struggled to keep her eyes away from him.

Nicholas got close enough and his musky smell filled her nostrils, she had to hold her breath to stop her self from getting intoxicated.

“Breath” he whispered into her ears, as her cheeks turned blue with the lack of air.

Nicholas stretched his hand forward as they locked eyes it taking his eyes of her lips, as he grabbed her waist, and pulled her close.

Another gulp went down her throat, as her legs threatened to give in and fall into his touch, Nicholas hands reached with his other hand and pulled the door knob open and he let go of her “your in the way”. He’s said and walked into the room.

‘What was that’ Daria’s cheeks were bright red hot almost as red as her hair.
