Chapter Two

Lucy is pulling the strings

Larry looked up and leaned on his lazy boy recliner chair with his head rested in his arms between his shoulders. He closed his eyes in exhaustion as he was facing the ceiling. He sighed deeply and yawned lazily as he was stretching his mascular body.  His day started at four thirty in the morning. Those were the perks of owning a million dollar company and being a hands on boss. His accounting firm was reaching its maximum growth eversince he started it. He couldn't ask for more as he was signing new huge contract deals every month  Someone tapped him on his shoulder. "Hey, handsome are you tired. He lifted his head quickly and set straight. He did not even noticed that Theodora was standing there next to him. "Baby! How long have you been standing here?" He said loosening his tie. He swung his chair to face her. He pulled her close to him. Theodora sat on his lap and kissed him on the forehead.

"It seems like you need a break. You woke up very early this morning and you did not even had your breakfast", she said while unwrapping a dish cloth that covered a medium sized porcelain bowl that seemed to be packed with scrumptious delicacies. She put it on the desk and opened the then signalled him to tuck in. She had prepared a scrumptious meal for hard working hubby to be. Her grandmother taught her very well that a way to a man's heart was through his stomach. She knew exactly what to cook in order to tickle Larry's taste buds after a hard working day. Larry was a traditional man and he preferred his stamped mealies and beef stew. But he could not say no to Theodora's lasagne or pasta bake with chicken stew and Greek salad. When she opened the dish was enticed by smell. As for him food was the last thing he was thinking about since he was swamped in his work. He did not even realised that it was already lunchtime. So, Theodora's visit saved him the day. Lucy was no where to be found. She was the one who always offered to buy lunch for him when he was busy. Now, Lucy was preoccupied with some other stuff. She did not even bothered to ask him what he would prefer for lunch as she used to do she was going out. Even for her food was the last thing in her mind. She was even bluffing when she said she was going to the post office. She was visiting an old friend of hers who was always on her side when she needed a shoulder to cry on. This time she needed a broad shoulder to cry on as she was about to lose the man she was beginning to love. Larry's commitment to Theodora was the last thing she needed right then. She shruddered at the though of seeing him walking down the isle with another woman. Yes, they agreed that what they have was not gonna stand in their way of finding comfort in other people's arms. Larry had Theodora and she had her mystery man. Larry did not even bothered to ask about the mystery man since he had no intentions to commit to her. She kept telling him about the man in her life but it did not bother him at all. And that is one of the things that angered Lucy. "It is obvious that he does not care about me. How could he not be bothered when I'm mentioning another man. Damn that man. He doesn't see what he is missing in me", Lucy would say these words infront of her mirror. She always wondered what Theodora had that she didn't. She vowed to herself that she would not give up on Larry as long as she lived.

Larry took the fork and ate mouthfuls and it was exactly what he needed. He was famished and exhausted. He finished eating and washed down the meal with a can of coke. Theodora was watching him with a smile until he finished eating. "Dessert?" She asked him while she unbuttoned her shirt to reveal her sexy cleavage. Larry just smiled and told her to keep the dessert for the night. Being intimate was the last thing he needed right then. And besides Theodora was a conservative woman. Making sex in office was not her cue. He was caught off guard by her sudden interest in random sex. "I guess everyone have their unpredictable side", he thought to himself. For Lucy, it was not unusual to want to be caught in a deed. She was an impulsive kind and she never ceases to amaze him with her new tricks everyday. He and Theodora were just sitting in embrace when Lucy entered and walked in on them.
