Chapter 158

“Your Majesty, we heard what happened, so we came to see, I hope you don’t mind the intrusion” “it’s fine Winter Wards, come and see” 

They move around the bed and smile “magnifico, is the babe a girl or boy?” “a girl” “the future of the Elemental Kingdom is most certainly bright your majesty, the Gods and spirits has sent exactly what the kingdoms need right now, we will take our leave your majesty.”  

I nod and they bow and leave “we should leave and give them a chance to rest as well, we don’t have to worry because we know no one can take the baby from Azealia” I lead Dawson out of the room and ask Gyahan to keep an eye out on the room and to not let anyone into the room without us knowing or giving approval, she got a chair and sat down outside the room as we left. 

I’m so tired, I will have to visit the Winter Wards to find out what they know about the mimics, they were so flawless and lived for so long among wolves without being detected, that is not something I’ve ever seen before. 

King Tyler 

A pup! A little girl who looks like my mate and me and smells like us, I am grinning like an idiot I’m sure, what an honour it is to be chosen by the Fire Flower Tree to take care of it’s Fire Sprite, she will likely grow to be the next ruler of the Elemental Kingdom, so we must teach her to be the best she can be and with a mother like Azealia she will no doubt be strong. 

I stop in my tracks, the entire City seems to have gone still, something isn’t right, I turn back and run out to the front of the castle, there are others outside looking around obviously as confused as I am “what’s going on your majesty?” Simon approaches me still looking around on guard “that’s what I’m trying to figure out”

Suddenly the wind picks up with strong and heavy gusts, and by the Gods the smell is terrible “what the hell is that smell?!” Harry asks covering his nose, Cory and Carson run up to me and we all look around trying to understand what on earth is happening, “whoa, whoa whoa” we grab onto each other as the earth is now shaking, we can hear the rumbling from deep within “RUN!” someone shouts from behind us when a burst of fire emerges from the earth and soars up to the sky and the smoke begins to cover to the sky, slowly it spreads darkening the entire city.

“Tyler! You know what this means don’t you?” “yes Cory, the war is about to begin again” thankfully my mate is away and safe so I don’t have to worry about their safety and can focus on the battle ahead but just in case I don’t make it I need to put in writing that the little one is my heir, I look to the others and shout “YOU ALL KNEW THE DAY WOULD COME, ALTHOUGH IT CAME A LOT SOONER THAN WE EXPECTED, WE HAVE COMPLETED MOST OF OUR TRAINING, WE NOW NEED TO BE ON OUR GUARD, GET THE ELDERLY, SHE-WOLVES WHO ARE NOT FIGHTING AND THE PUPS TO SAFETY! I NEED TO SEND WORD TO THE PACKS THAT THE WAR TIME HAS COME AGAIN! THE FIRST TASK IS SAFETY OF THE OTHERS! THEN SOILDERS PREPAPRE FOR WAR!” “Hoo! Hoo! Hoo! Hoo!”

They disperse “I would advise you Two to go and secure your mates” both Cory and Carson give me a knowing look, then nod and leave, both of their mates are pregnant with Alessia carrying Triplet pups and Astrid is having twins and with this war there is a chance that they will not get to see their pups birth or grow, I hope to the Gods that it does not come to that for any of us but realistically speaking, I know not all of us will survive this and I as King, even if it means sacrificing myself for my people, it is what I will have to do.

I go to my office and make a note and place my seal on it, in regards to the pup and Azealia just in case I don’t make it out alive after this thing, I sigh and place my head in my hand, as much as I prepared myself mentally for this time, just the fact that it is actually happening  now, I truly don’t know to feel, the thought of dying and leaving my mate behind makes my heart ache, I need to see them again, I have to, but first I need to alert the packs.

I pick up the international line and dial, it rings all the packs at the same time, one by one the Alphas answer their lines “THIS IS YOUR ALPHA KING TYLER SPEAKING, I AM RAISING THE RED ALERT THAT THE WAR ON OUR KIND HAS OFFICIALLY BEGUN! THE SKIES IN THE ROYAL CITY ARE BEING DARKENED BY FIRE CLOUDS FROM THE EARTH AND SOON IT WILL SPREAD AND COVER THE ENTIRE WORLD, WE HAVE YET TO SEE ANY MOVEMENTS FROM THE ENEMY BUT PLEASE BE ON THE LOOK OUT, MAKE WHATEVER PREPARATIONS YOU HAVE TO SO WE CAN SURVIVE AND WIN THIS WAR”

They all confirm having received my message and we all hang up, I pick up my cell phone and dial Azealia’s father “please I need to see my mate” “okay” a portal opens immediately and the Empress steps through “you didn’t sound okay on the phone, what is the matter?” “look out the window” she goes over to the window and peers out “by the God’s the Dark Ones are on the move again, they’ve actually managed to make contact with Darcrow!” she moves away from the window and looks to me, we need to go back to my palace quickly, we don’t have much time”
