"Sire! you're needed urgently back at the palace"

I rise immediately because I know for me to be asked back has to be something major happened whether good or bad I need to know.

" Hey, where you off to?" Right Astrid " I've got some urgent business to take care of, I'll see you later. I don't have time for explanations right now, I brush by her and head out, I know I have to use the gateway at my office because if I go into my room she will only pester me.

We arrive at the office building and ride the elevator to the top floor were my office and other domain door is, everyone on this floor belong to me so I have no need for formality or greetings when I come and go here, they all seem to be tensed for some reason though.

My office door swings open with a bang and I waste no time heading straight to the domain door and stepping through, my commander is waiting a few feet away for me and rushes to me when he sees me " sire, thank Hades you've arrived! we have a problem, let's go to the medical wing.

He rushes off and I follow him foot on foot, he pushes the door to a private room open and one of my best Shadow Hunter Jumbie is laying in the bed squirming in pain and missing one of his legs " WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED TO EFRIM?! " " they were scouting at one of the packs and were ambushed, the other team mates said they blindsided them because they came out of nowhere and surrounded them, they tried to flee using the escape route they had been scouting for weeks and just before they made it out of the border one of the wolves got him and ripped his leg off "

I turn and look at him " where is the leg? " one of the medic come forward with the leg and hands it to me, " no my King ughh you must not aggghhhh " " hush you fool, save your breath, we have lost enough of our men, if I am able to save any I will do so " I close my eyes and inhale deep before coughing up some of my life essence.

" This will hurt so brace yourself " I put the leg back in it's place and drop the essence onto it and watch as it burns and scorches through the skin and he cried out at the initial contact but bore through it, beads of sweat forming on his body " thank you my Lord " I nod and make my way out the room.

I try to avoid doing this because it takes a toll on me, if I do it too much I will one day run out and naturally it would cost me my life as what I am sharing is my own essence and only few know that I am capable of such a thing.

I manage to make my way back to my chamber, I push the door open and close it behind me ensuring to lock it, I don't even have the energy to undress , I drift over to my bed and plop down, drifting into slumber for hell knows how long, I don't have to worry too much about Astrid as I'm sure they would most likely tell her I went away on an emergency business trip or something.

" My King we just received word that there was, well I wouldn't really call it an attack but a group of Six beings were intercepted on Alpha Teejans land " " did they apprehend them? " " unfortunately not my King, the wolf who injured one of them ended up almost dying I was told " " if we leave now, how soon can we reach that pack? I'd like to speak to the Alpha and also get the account in person from all the persons who took part in the chase ".

" If we use the jet we can be there in Three hours give or take " " Ah yes, I use it so infrequently that I sometimes forget I have it, okay get in touch with the pilot and let them be ready in Twenty minutes to take off " " how long will you stay? " " we'd come back in the morning, please have my Beta call and notify the Alpha that I will make an impromptu visit and speak only with the Alpha " " yes my King "

I leave from my office and head to my chamber to get an over night bag packed to head out, once I'm comfortable that I have everything I head out, my aide is waiting outside my chamber door " all has been arranged my King, including Two escort Knights to ensure your safety on your journey.

I pause and look at him " you do realize I am the Alpha King right Serwin " " indeed I do and that is precisely why you'd be making the journey with them or shall I bump it up to Six? " I roll my eyes and continue on my way.
