Chapter 47

I can finally have a shower and get some much needed sleep, tomorrow is going to be another long day.

I shower and get to bed and when I tell you as soon as my head hit the pillow I was gone! By instinct my body naturally wakes up at 5:00 AM, but I just lay in bed for another Twenty minutes because I have no royal duties to tend to just yet so I can afford to lounge for a bit.

I slide out of bed and check my phone, it's now 5:35 AM I stretch and head to the bathroom to relieve myself and brush my teeth, I think I'll go for a quick run before the pack rises then shower before the other Alphas get here for the meeting, I haul on a vest and running pants as well as my slippers and make my way down the stairs, this descend will be my cardio warm up before my run.

I have a fairly good idea of the grounds from yesterday so I'm certain I won't get lost, I was just out the front door when I see the Alpha and Beta brothers just about the enter the woods, my Lycan hearing allowed me to eavesdrop on their conversation without even meaning to, they're going on a run and will also check the borders while they're on it, sounds good to me, I run over to them which startles them as they naturally wouldn’t hear me coming up to them at my speed.

" Good morning, mind if I tag along with you on your run fellas? " they both jump back a bit but then recompose themselves " good morning Alpha Tyler, you are most welcomed to join our run " " great " we all walk a bit further in and head towards Three different trees to place our clothing and shift, them into their wolves and I into my Lycan.

The shift is almost instant for me as I've done it hundreds if not thousands of times by now, when you're newly shifted both Lycan and Werewolf, the first shift is the longest and hardest and it remains long and painful for let's say the first Ten or so shift but it gets quicker the more you shift and huts less and less each time and given my old age, it's a snap of the finger or blink of an eye.

I emerge from behind my tree standing on my Two back feet and soon after the Alpha and Beta wolves come from behind their trees, both bow with their ears tilted backwards showing their respect and submission Hunter nods as accepting and acknowledging their good will.

Teejans wolf yips and directs his head towards the West and Hunter nods in understanding, they both take off and I follow after them running on all Fours right along with them, naturally I can easily out run them but I am on their lands and this is their routine so I will simply follow along.

Our heavy footsteps thunder through the forest as our other halves enjoy themselves running freely, with our status differences completely out of mind, we enjoy the run and check Three of the Four sides of the borders in record time with the last being the Southern side of the border and the furthest one away, we have passed warriors who are on guard duty, they simply bowed as we zipped past them on our way.

As we approach the hairs on my back raise and I slow which makes the brothers slow down as well ' something is not right ' Hunter stops and sniffs around and moves slowly ensuring to avoid stepping on any fallen branches, dried leaves or twigs, if there is danger the last thing we need is to give our position away.

We fan out and I miss Alpha Teejan for a bit, he comes back in human form wearing black sweats and carrying Two others in his hands, Hunter takes one and goes behind a tree and I shift back into human form and pull the sweats on, when I get back from behind the tree both brothers are in human form and on the alert.

We are bare feet and slowly continue on still on high alert of our surroundings, we get even closer to the edge of the border where it's much darker as the trees are thicker here, ' this could be dangerous human, it's far from the pack, secluded and we can be ambushed and out numbered here plus we don't know what the danger is or how to deal with it ' ' I know, we are Three of the highest pedigree I assure you one of us would make it out of here if there is anything out here'.

I stop and raise my hand to stop the others when I hear a giggle up ahead, the giggle sounds close by but far away at the same time, and I know that makes no sense but it's what it sounds like.

I peer over some over grown bushes and see a beautiful woman leading Two of warriors further from the border, they follow after her as though in a trance, we separate with me going around to see if I can cut them off ahead, Teejan staying where he is and Trevor heads to the other side.
