Chapter 48

I jumped out from behind the brushes just ahead of the woman and she freezes, her eyes widen and she stumbles back and trips, it was then I saw it, her long flowing dress inched up and she has one human leg and one hoof, she scampers to get up and run but Trevor is at her back, her breathing quickens and so does her heart beat, the Two warriors are standing in place, not blinking, not moving just there.

Her eyes turn bloody Red, no sign of pupils or white in her eyes and she let's out a scream so loud I swear we are going to be deaf.

I step back covering my ears and Trevor does the same, by the time the sound dies down, she's gone, it was only then it really dawned on me that the area is now more lit and you can hear the crickets and cicada’s, it was nothing but silence before *thud, thud* both warriors fall to the ground unconscious.

We access them to ensure they are unharmed and once we've verified that they are both men shift and I lay one on each of their backs and I shift too, we head back to the pack, when we get there it's around 7:20 AM, my guards and a few of the pack members are surprised to see us, well perhaps me in my Lycan form coming from the woods and we were given concerned looks when they noticed the warriors we had in tow.

The warriors were then taken to the healers and we went to get showered and dressed for the meet. We would most certainly have to talk about this in the meet and also find out if any other Alpha has experienced this in the pack, now is the time to gather as much information as we could and get down to the bottom of things, if this really is the Reapers Nation back on the move again we need to start preparing for war of the species once again and this time completely eradicate them off the face of the Gods earth.

I sprint up the stairs still in Lycan form, I notice the stares I receive as I make my way up, a mix of admiration and fear as it is the first time some would have seen a Lycan in it's true form and me being King, I am bigger than the others.

I ensure the floor is empty before shifting back into my human form and hurrying into my room, I lock the door and head straight for the shower, a warm shower is much needed, I wash my hair as well before heading out and drying up, I wonder if I have time to have some breakfast, all that running has me absolutely famished.

I quickly get dressed and was about to head out after grabbing my phone on the bedside table when a soft knock comes at the door, I stride over and open the door, Havana is there with a tray of food in hand " Good Morning my King, my Alpha asked me to deliver this to you, he said something light but filling would be best for now " I take the tray and thank Havana and walk over to the door leading out to the small balcony my room has, I set down the tray on the table and sink into the chair.

Croissants with Scrambled Eggs, Bacon and a few slices of Orange as well as some Coffee, I dig in and finish it in no time, it was quite delicious, I take the tray and make my way down as it's already 8:05 AM and I have no idea where we'd be meeting so I need to get to common grounds where I can find out what's what or where is what.

I walk to the kitchen where Havana and a few other staff are talking and laughing but stop when I walk in and bow " good morning ladies, my compliments to the chef on my meal, I quite enjoyed it thank you " " you're welcome my King " " can anyone of you tell me where Alpha Teejan is located? " " ah I believe he's in the conference hall, would you like me to guide you or do you know the way? " " if you don't mind, please be my guide " I smile politely.

We walk towards the back of the pack house and members bow as I walk past them " it's just ahead my King " she bows and falls back, the door ahead open and closes and Ember walks out, she slows her steps as she realizes I'm ahead and looks down before raising her head and looking at me " good morning King Tyler " she smiles " good morning Ms. Woods " I brush past her and head into the room without as much as a sideways glance at her.

" Ah my King, I was just about to come fetch you " " glad I saved you the trouble " " how was your breakfast?" " fantastic if I do say so myself thank you " his eyes fog over.

" The Alphas have started to arrive, I will go out to greet them, I will be right back " " I'll be here " " okay "
