“P-Please don’t do this, yes I will admit I have been with another but he was the only one I did not sleep around” my eyes water “you do not need to explain yourself to me Ms. Astrid” I sob out loud this time and he wavers, I know he feels my sorrow and remorse through the mate bond but he doesn’t move “I am your mate Carson, if you accept me, then I will be yours alone I swear it, King Tyler, I knew very well he had no feelings for me but yes it is true that I wanted the crown even though I knew I’d suffer and be unloved but I swear to you it will only be you, Tyler is not the least bit interested in me I assure you, do you want me to get on my knees and beg you because I will”

He stares at me and says nothing for a while and I drop to me knees before him “why do you want me’’ I look up at him crying, I don’t care how foolish or desperate I look right now, I don’t want to lose this man “you’re my mate, the one that’s meant to complete me, I am also meant to complete you, this bond that we share there will be no other”

I sob once again and hang my head in shame as Carmen howls again in my head “tell you what!” he says brightly I look up to him “ I think I’d go knock about a bit with a she wolf and come back, that way things will be equal, how’s that sound?” rage fills me and I throw myself at him in anger “DON’T YOU DARE LET ANOTHER TOUCH WHAT’S MINE! By this time I was straddling him and he lay on his back looking up at me clearly amused, which annoyed me even further but before I had time to think he got up carrying me effortlessly over to my bed and dropping me there before turning to walk away, I watch his broad strong back leave and he stops at the door “you really need to get over yourself Ms. Astrid” “DON’T YOU DARE FK ANY OTHER SHE WOLVES CARSON! I WILL KILL HER! WHOEVER THE FK SHE IS, I WILL END HER!” he simply chuckles and closes the door behind him.

“FK!” I shout throwing my pillow across the room before falling back onto the bed “stupid! Stupid! Stupid! Astrid look at the mess you made! Just because you’re trying to spite Tyler! Now my mate hates me! What am I gonna go? What are we gonna do Carmen?”

I think I need to go for a run, I need to let Carmen out and blow off some steam.

I get out to the forest as I have done many times and strip my clothes off and place them on a branch and shift, in no time Carmen is out and let’s out a mournful howl before taking off into the forest, I can tell where she is headed, to the lake ‘Carmen, what are you doing?’ ‘we need to get Noah’s scent off!’ she rolls in the grass by the lake, even dragging her butt on the grass then sniffs herself before diving into the lake ‘you do realize doing all that made no sense right?’

‘What do you mean human?’ ‘Noah’s wolf never mounted you so you are still untouched, it is only me that would carry his scent’ ‘are you sure?’ ‘yes I’m sure’ ‘you would carry the scent of Carsons wolf only if he mounts you, you only smell like yourself’ ‘m-maybe we can save ourselves this way? Tell them that I am untouched!’

‘Let’s give him some time to calm down be-’ before I could finish my statement we pick up on a presence nearby, ‘this doesn’t feel like a friendly presence we need to leave’ Carmen wades her way through the water a little further down from where we entered and then we take off running back to the pack, I feel it it’s chasing after us ‘we need to hurry Car’ ‘ I know, I’m going as fast as I can’ I open my mindlink trying to find Tyler and he opens ‘Tyler please, I’m being chased! I don’t know what it is but please’ ‘on the way’ in a matter of minutes he shoots through the trees zipping past me and his massive Lycan standing protective of me and growling.

I turn and look, we can’t see anything, but I still feel the presence, it’s malicious enough to make ma shiver in fear, the Lycan growls loudly, and we hear the sounds of trees rustling and branches breaking as though many people are making a run for it and the feeling fades along with their departing presence.

The Lycan turns to me and looks as though assessing to see if I’m hurt then signals me with his head to go, I run and he follows.
