She comes over to me and seems like she was about to wrap her arms around me but I grabbed hold of them “ you never gave me the chance to get to know you” “that’s because you’re an idiot who keeps allowing the Elders to control you” *knock* “come in!”

I was still holding onto her busy hands when Cory and Carson walked in, I released her hands when I saw that look on Carsons face, she stood frozen staring wide eyed “mate” she whispers in disbelief “mate” Carson says in return but he doesn’t move from the door.

I can see he’s fighting with his wolf “what’s wrong mate?” Astrid asks moving over to him and he steps back which makes her wolf whimper.

“Awkward” says Cory “uhm, Astrid this is Carson, Carson meet Astrid” Carson looks at me “so this is your betrothed my King, it’s nice to meet you Ms. Astrid” she whimpers again and looks up at me with her eyes full of water.

I feel her nudging into my mind and I let her in, her wolf is crying ‘why doesn’t he want us?’ ‘just give him time, do you want him?’ ‘yes!’ she says without hesitation ‘then be patient with him, he was rejected my his first mate, also an Alpha’s daughter, look at him and tell me if you see any signs of malice or danger’ ‘okay’

“Uhm, may I see your hand please, I’m a seer, that’s all I want to do” he still stays afar but extends his hand to her and they both shiver as their skins touch “look at me” she whispers to him and he obeys looking into her eyes not even blinking, after a few minutes she turns to me still holding onto his hand “he is no threat or danger to anyone”

“Very well, now we have this certainty Carson, you are free, you can choose if you wish to settle her or return to your home” “thank you Alpha and Ms. Astrid” “STOP CALLING ME THAT!” she shouts at him “come with me!” she drags him away and closes the door behind them.

“Damn well even Astrid found her mate, is there something wrong with us bro?”

“Speak for yourself” “what’s that supposed to mean?” “nothing, get out, go busy yourself elsewhere” There’s no way I’m letting this prick know Red is my mate and she’s not accepting me, I’ll never hear the end of it, I just got to try and keep my emotions and jealousy in check until I figure out how to get Roho to accept me.

I haul Carson from Tyler’s office all the way through to where I’m staying and he doesn’t utter a single word nor does he pull away from me when I know fully well he could if he wanted to, I mean I’m not exactly the tallest or strongest of she wolves out there.

I push the bedroom door open and enter dragging him behind me then slam it shut, locking it “you did not need to bring me this far to reject me you know” Carmen whimpers ‘we want our mate, right?’ ‘of course we do! Look how damn long it’s been we’ve been without and look at him he’s so damn fine is he not’ she licks her lip ‘he sure is, the God’s did us justice’

“Why do you think I would reject you?” I look at him already missing the feeling of his hand in mine and the sparks that made everything run south in my body, I crave this man I feel like I’d go insane if I don’t have him.

He steps closer to me and looks down at me, he takes a finger to raise my face to look at him, and I can’t help but bite my lips, he exudes masculinity and his scent mmm I could drown in it, and feeling the sparks where his finger is touching, I can feel myself moisten for him, is this really what I’ve been missing out on all these years “well for one, you are to wed the King are you not? And I doubt you are the type to forsake such glory for a lowly warrior like myself” he pauses and looks at me then caresses my face “you’re so damn beautiful”

I close my eyes relishing in his touch, thinking he’s going to kiss me but instead he steps away, my eyes fly open and as I was about to speak he spoke again “and to make matters worse, warriors in my pack were trained in many different areas including pin pointing different scents, I can clearly smell the scent of another male, it’s not on you which means it’s not someone in the pack, so it has to be in you which means you’ve been with another even though you are to wed the King”

He steps further back and Carmen howls in my head ‘I TOLD YOU!’ she sobs ‘HE DOESN’T WANT US BECAUSE HE CAN SMELL NOAH ON YOU! SO NOW HE WOULDN’T TRUST US BECAUSE HE’D THINK WE’D BE UNFAITHFUL!’ I swallow hard.
