CAIN’S POV After Amber’s meeting with the elders, I went into the meeting hall with hopes of seeing her before they imprisoned her but I was met by my father who also seemed to want to talk to her before the guards took her away. CHAD’S POVWhen we first arrived at the vampire coven I was not only excited by the action that was going on everywhere around me but also because I was about to see my mate. However, I was a little worried that we may have been a little late in getting to her. While I entered the coven searching for Amber, Jeff and the others remained outside where the real fight was happening. AMBER’S POVThis was the moment that I had been waiting for for a very long time, ever since I found out that the vampires wanted me dead I decided that I wanted to get even. I had gone to them because I thought that they would accept me if they knew that I rejected my wolf side and embraced the vampire in me but I was mistaken and wrong. How could I even expect them to accept me when they hadn’t even accepted my mother, she was punished for a decision that was made on her behalf, a decision that didn’t do much service to her. AMBERS POV I tried to shake off the taste of Marcus’s blood from my taste buds and forget it but that seemed close to impossible, I felt like I wanted more of that addictive taste but I also didn’t want to go and hunt for it. Even if I was willing to hunt for it, what kind of a creature would I hunt for without raising suspicions or concerns with Chad. I couldn’t deny that his blood tasted good to me but the last thing I wanted was to find myself killing humans, vampires, and wolves for survival. One of the things that my mother told me when she was still alive was that I was to stay away from human blood or any kind of blood. She always told me that that would awaken a hunger and thirst in me that would be very uncontrollable. CHAD’S POV Amber didn’t look very good and although she said that she was just tired and hungry, I was worried that it might have been something a little more than that. She didn’t look hungry but rather looked like she was coming down with some kind of sickness. I wondered if they had given her something or some kind of drug before I arrived but she said they did no such thing. She said that they didn’t give her anything to eat nor drink and this worried me even further.What made things worse right now was the fact that she was now obsessing and worrying about the well-being of these vampires that were left behind. I felt like this wasn't her problem and she was worrying herself about something that somebody else had to handle. These vampires were not her problem and I just needed her to understand that. AMBER’S POV When we arrived home I just wanted to rest and do absolutely nothing. I realized after I took my shower that I was actually very exhausted and I needed to get some rest. I felt extremely lucky that Chad seemed to understand that because he didn’t even try to do anything with me after we got home. While I was bathing Chad made sure to organize food for me because I had told him that I was very hungry. CHAD’S POVIt took a lot for Amber to finally fall asleep and I knew that she was very worried about the fact that she had ingested Marcus’ blood. I had never met the bastard but from what Amber told me it seemed that the guy was a piece of work and difficult to deal with. At first, I hadn’t really made a big deal of what she had told me because I just didn’t think that it was possible for her to suddenly develop cravings for blood simply because she had a taste of Marcus’s blood but the more I thought about it the more I saw that as a possibility. It was my job to protect Amber as my mate but I wouldnt even know how to protect her if she turned into a vampire and started tearing the royal city apart. I had to find a way to put a stop to that before it even happened.
