CHAPTER 38TAYLOR I took one last swipe at the bottom of my lips to get rid of the smeared lipstick and once I did that, the makeup was perfect. I looked good and I liked what I saw in the mirror.With a smile, I walked back to bed to get the shoes I chose earlier that morning and after putting them on, I was ready. CHAPTER 39 TAYLOR “What was that man doing here?” Michael's voice suddenly came from behind me and I quickly looked back to see him standing behind my chair with a furious look in his eyes as he stared at me. “I don't know… he just introduced himself as Nick to me and I told him off. He didn't spend up to a minute here” I replied and he looked back at the so called Nick’s direction before looking back at me. “Are you sure he didn't say anything else to you?” he asked and I frowned because why was he acting so paranoid about a short conversation that I had with a stranger? “He didn't. Just introduced himself to me and walked away after realizing we’re married” I said and he sighed before taking a seat beside me. “He's the son of a weapon merchandiser and his father is a son of a bitch so we don't get along. Be careful with your words if he returns to speak to you” he said and all I could think about was that for the first time, he was telling me things. It felt so unreal.

Then I rushed off to the living room where he waited and handed the shirt over to him while I struggled to look anywhere else but his bare body.“Thanks” he said as he collected the shirt and I nodded my head without saying a word before turning around to face my back toward him. CHAPTER 42 TAYLOR I saw my grandpa in my dream and when my alarm rang out loud, I'd never been happier to wake up in the morning since the night that Michael bought me. I was smiling and humming happy tunes to myself as I got ready for the day and after purposely putting on a pretty dress just so Michael would see me in it, I curled my hair into small wavy lines and let a few tendrils down my face. Then I tried to apply a little makeup to look prettier and once I was done, I wore my shoes, grabbed my bag and left for the kitchen to see Fernandez on a phone call.
