CHAPTER FOURTEEN : CAT AND DOG

Leina informed Rey that she was going into the city of Greyfall with some other wolves as emissaries and that she would return the next day and Rey decided to use her departure as an opportunity to talk to Lucius and figure out why he was acting weird. She spent the better portion of an hour looking for him and pretty soon she found him discussing his Orion and Asher. Rey approached him with purpose, demanding a private conversation. Lucius, with his silver and grey fur gleaming in the moonlight, agreed and led her to a secluded spot.

Once they were alone, Rey wasted no time, her voice tinged with both frustration and confusion. "Lucius, we need to talk," she began, her eyes searching his for answers. "Something has changed between us, and I want to know why."

Lucius regarded her with a calm demeanor, his piercing blue eyes studying her intently. "Rey, I assure you, nothing has changed," he replied, his voice carrying a hint of indifference. "You're imagining things."
