Chapter Eighteen

I was gulping down the third cup of beer when Charlotte came and pulled me away from Evan who had been drinking so much that I lost count of how many he had to drink. Though he looked fine and just a bit drunk, I was so worried about him that it felt like I was the one babysitting him.

Charlotte continued to drag me to where people were dancing. I was a bit tipsy but I could feel adrenaline pumping into my veins making me feel so much alive. All my nerves were awakened, it felt like I took a sugar rush. My body followed the rhythm of the song, whining and twerking, jumping and shouting at the top of my voice in excitement. I missed feeling this way. I was so lost in the music and immersed in ecstasy it provided, that I didn't know when I started rocking someone behind me.

My mind went to Adam thinking of how he would have reacted if he was the one behind me or if he saw me rocking someone. I could hear the stranger behind me egging me on until Evan came and pulled me away from him. He
