Chapter 18: Help Regina apply the medicine

"You're so cool. Wants me to examine her and prescribe medicine for her but won't let me touch her." Kane entered Darryl's room, his expression unchanged but his voice displeased.

"You're a man."

"And a doctor." Kane shrugged.

This time Darryl didn't say anything, he took a puff of his cigarette, feeling his lungs burn and then exhaled. Kane sat down next to Darryl, however Kane wasn't in the habit of smoking, so he poured himself a glass of red wine from Darryl's liquor cabinet.

"I should have moved in with you guys. That way I wouldn't have to be upset about being woken up at three or four in the morning, driving ten kilometers here just to check on your wife." Kane's voice was clearly reproachful.

"How is she?" Darryl asked.

"She has a fever. I gave her fever-reducing medicine. She sometimes sleeps and talks, still seems very scared. I also prescribed her a topical medication to reduce swelling and pain. Where to apply it, you probably know it yourself, I don't need to teach you, r
