Veena finally arrived at the Harrison family’s residence. It’s been three years since she last set foot in this place. She’s no longer the weak woman from the past, she came back to take back what belongs to her.
The whole family was waiting for her at the living room; they were giving her disgusted looks. The moment the Harrison family created a place in Geneva city’s social circle. Was the time they took advantage of her.
She held on to their wicked tricks for years and successfully defended herself. But the more she took the damage the more her defenses fell. Everyone betrayed her and she vowed to take back everything and destroy it in one sweep.
“Congratulations on your release, sister.” Ashley said. Veena glared at her evil sister. This is the woman whom she no longer called family. She stole Stephen from her and they cheated behind her back. Her parents didn’t even care and were happy of her fall.
“If you didn’t know yet, I’m the new CEO of your company.” Ashley added.
“What!?” Veena growled in anger.
“Your sister is right Veena. She was the one who took your spot when you were locked up in the mental hospital. Don’t you even dare try to take your company back. Everyone knows that you’re mentally unstable, what a pity.” says Helen Harrison, her wicked mother.
They’ve been planning this for years. To overthrow her position as the CEO of Fontana, her beloved fashion line. The company that she worked hard for years! Without her company the Harrison family would be considered a middle-class family already.
These evil leeches were clinging on to her for money and fame while waiting for her to succeed, and then pulled her down from her seat. She can’t let them to take advantage of her again!
“You can still live here, but you need to become Ashley’s mentor. We need your expertise to guide your sister in handling Fontana. If you refuse then we’ll make sure that you’ll be crawling on the streets.” her father, Cedric Harrison added.
Veena scoffed. Crawling on the streets? What a joke! Her parents froze her cards but they didn't know that the cards only contains a thousand dollars each. She already planned ahead and transferred most of her money to a highly secured bank account.
Ashley was never a smart girl. She cheats her way through school and her parents even bribed the school to let her pass. Money surely makes way into people’s mind. There is no way she will succeed in handling Fontana.
“Veena? Is that you?” A lovely voice said from behind.
Veena smiled and wanted to cry. It was her grandmother Meredith. She was the only one who took her side and loved her more than her own parents.
“Grandma…”
“Come here dear, I miss you so much.” They hugged each other tightly. Grandmother Meredith is really sick. She was diagnosed with a heart disease. It pains her heart to see her grandma suffer.
“You should leave right now, sister. I wouldn’t want your disgusting mental sickness to get its way to me. I don’t want to be infected.” Ashley said her voice filled with venom.
“Ashley!” Gradma Meredith said.
“It’s okay grandma. I should go than stay in this place. I hope all of you are happy with your success. But do remember this, that not all things will last forever.” She gave them a warning.
Kissing her grandmother’s cheeks then left the Harrison’s residence. Now, the question is. Where will she go now? Her family already took away her apartment and going to Fontana doesn’t sound good.
Knowing everyone knows about her stay in the mental hospital. They’ll turn her into a laughing stock.
She decided to call one of her friends and to see if they’re good with letting her stay in their place. Scrolling through her contacts and dialed Nadia’s number.
“Hello? Veena?”
“Hey, Nadia. I have a favor to ask you. If you’re okay with it that I’ll be staying in your place for a while? I promise that I won’t bother you.”
“You’re out already from the hospital?”
Veena frowned. How did she know about the mental hospital? Something’s going on here.
“How did you-”
“Ashley told me. Sure, you can stay here in my home. I’ll invite everyone to welcome you.” Nadia said in a hurry. Veena frowned but shrugged it off.
“Thank you so much, Nadia! Don’t listen to those rumors about the mental hospital. None of it was true.” Veena thanked her friend. Nadia has always been there for her no matter what problems she’s facing.
“Sure…anything for the queen.” The sarcastic remark from Nadia didn’t escape from Veena’s ears. What does she mean? She wanted to ask Nadia about it but her friend hurriedly said a good bye then ended the phone call.
“Thank goodness you’re still here.” Veena clenched her teeth upon hearing the annoying voice of Ashley.
“What do you want now? Aren’t you happy that everything that you wanted is all yours?” She said bitterly.
“I am very blessed to receive your gifts, sister. I’m just here to drop off some little stuff.” Few maids unceremoniously dropped three bags filled with her clothes. The bags was not zipped properly and everything spilled on the dirty ground.
Veena clenched her fists controlling the anger within her heart. She tolerated their actions and began grabbing the clothes back into the bags. They chuckled in a mocking tone then left her alone.
She tightened the dangerous feeling inside her heart. The Veena Harrison does not cry and she will never ever cry again. The last time she did it was three years ago. Now, that she’s free from the metal cages she’s here to take revenge.
She’ll make sure to make the Harrison family fall.
After her encounter with her wicked sister, she arrived at Nadia Sabrera’s expensive home. There were a lot of cars parked outside and she wondered if Nadia has visitors. Once she opened the door everyone greeted her with happiness.
Veena’s heart lightened in joy for a second until someone threw a cake frosting on her clothes. The happy expressions of the people in the room soon turned into disgust. She fell in their trap thinking that they’re happy to have her.
“What are you guys doing? Please respect my new maid.” Nadia said.
Maid? She wanted to laugh at Nadia. There must be something wrong with her mind for falling into a trap twice in a row. No wonder Nadia was saying strange things from their phone call.
“Hey maid, I can pay you a lot if you can service me well.” A man commented. Everyone chuckled as if he’s saying something funny.
Everyone began throwing insults towards her and a lot of catcalling. She dropped her head down avoiding the burning gazes. Nadia has been planning this kind of surprise all along. No wonder she easily accepted her request.
“The queen has now fallen.” Nadia mocked her. “Where did the crown go? Oh, I think it’s on Ashley’s head now.” Her sister stood beside Nadia with crossed arms.
“I’ve always been second to you, Veena. With your tainted name I can use this chance to humiliate you.” Nadia said.
“Second? I never treated you anything wrong, Nadia.” Veena replied with her venom-filled voice.
“Most of the men went their attention on you. None of them paid attention to me and I was always the supporting character in your life. This time I’ll be the villainess and destroy any chances for you to get back up.” Veena felt even more betrayed.
“No one will save you, sis. Go and scurry off where you belong in the streets.” Ashley said.
“I will never forget this. I’ll make sure to bring you down with me!” She declared.
Everyone laughed at her remark thinking that it will be impossible. Grabbing her bags then left the venue. She bumped into someone making her fall on her butt.
“Veena?” A voice said from above.
She glared at the man infront of her. Her heart filled even more with anger.
“Stephen.” She whispered his name out leaving a bitter taste on her tongue.
The awkwardness in the air was too much for Veena to take. She made a move to leave. Seeing him gave her a piercing pain in her heart. The betrayal never healed and her belief on love was broken. All because of him. He was her comfort whenever her family oppressed her. But he’s just like all of them, a venomous snake that will do anything to take advantage of her. “H-How are you?” Stephen asked. “Thanks for the obvious question. I’m feeling great and surely you’re satisfied with the outcome. You got what you wanted and I wanted to congratulate you for that. Is there anything else that you want to steal from me?” “I did not steal anything from you!” he bellowed out. “Scared to accept the truth? If only you never slept with my sister then none of these things would have happened. You were the only person I could lean on and cry for days. It was unexpected that you’ll betray me too.” Every single word that comes out from her mouth was like needles to her heart. This will be the las
"Boss, someone wants to have an appointment with you." Felix said. Lois looked up from the report he is currently reading. His sharp grey eyes were stern. "What is it for?" he replied. "I'm not sure, but Abby told me it is a woman." Felix was confused why a woman would request a private appointment with Mr. Rossenov. No one has ever dared to do that. "Okay." Felix blinked in surprise. Did his boss just say 'okay'? He never accepts random invitations from strangers. Veena walked in with her head high. Her body looks a bit better than last night. An hourglass figure and long, slender legs to die for. A perfect combination for a super model. Everyone were curious of this mysterious woman. Their boss doesn't even like women, yet here she is. Could this person be their boss' future madam? "I am here for an appointment with Mr. Rossenov." Veena said to the receptionist while taking off her sunglasses. The woman was star struck and her eyes were glued to the mysterious woma
Veena's cold gaze prevented Stephen from speaking up. She walked past him as if she never met him. The tension in the room increased once Veena entered the board room. Ashley’s eyes were a bit puffy probably from her crying session. She assumed that they were having an argument. The shareholders didn’t look happy at all. “Veena Harrison we’re glad that you’re back. We were hoping that you’ll take over the company as soon as possible.” Mr. Travis said. “I’m sorry for crushing your hopes Mr. Travis but Veena will be Ashley’s mentor. With the scandal on Veena’s name placing her back as the CEO will only make Fontana collapse.” Helen explained immediately. Veena wanted to curse at Helen. She will do anything to tweak the truth. The reason she is in Fontana right now is to get something important in her old office. “Mrs. Harrison is correct. The scandal affect Fontana even after three years. I hope mentoring Ashley will save Fontana. We will be expecting a lot of things from this ‘eme
A brunette haired woman wearing corporate clothes was standing in front of Fontana and approached Veena. "Good day, Miss Harrison. I'm Abby and will be your assistant from now on. I have been sent by Mr. Rossenov. He wishes you to stay in his apartment." Abby said. "Hm? I don't think that is appropriate for me to live with him." Veena replied. "Mr. Rossenov says the deal will be off if you refuse." Veena frowned. He dares to threaten her? Whatever. This deal is much more important for her. It's better not to get in his bad side. Veena looked around in awe of Mr. Rossenov's apartment. It feels cozy with a mix of warm and cool interior colors. "Which room I'll be staying?" Veena asked Abby. "Over there, Miss Harrison. Mr. Rossenov has reserved you a seat at Piazza Deluxe. He won't be able to join you since he has a meeting to attend to." "Okay. Tell him my thanks." The maitre d’ led her to the reserved table with a breathtaking view of Geneva’s seaside. All of the pain,
Veena woke up finding herself in an unfamiliar room. Where is she? The last time she remembered was fainting from Ashley’s constant attacks. She can still feel the body pains that she received from every blow. The bright sunlight was glowing on to her. She must’ve slept for a long time. “How are you feeling?” she looked up to see the man who helped her last night. It was Lois. “I can still feel the body pains.” she answered hoarsely. He offered her a drink and she thanked him, drowning it down to give moisture to her dry throat. “The Harrisons bailed her out. Do you want to press charges on her?” he asked. “No. Going against them is useless.” She replied. “I’m sorry but are you Aloysius Rossenov?.” “Yes, Lois is my nickname.” he answered. Lois noticed her uneasiness and he wanted to reassure her that he is not a threat. Abby barged into the room and apologized right away for disturbing them. “Miss Harrison, are you alright?” Abby asked. She looked over to the man who helped he
Some people were looking at the woman with expensive clothes. Veena was looking around the small shops in Bayfair’s mall. Bayfair is located in the middle-class area of Geneva where most rich people never steps in. One shop caught her attention especially the design being displayed outside the shop. Abby opened the glass door for her and the owner was startled upon seeing an elegant woman coming in. “G-Good morning, Miss. How can I help you?” Veena took a peek of the woman’s name tag. Chelsy Moor. “Hello Chelsy. My name is Veena and I’m interested in your work.” “Veena? The Veena Harrison of Fontana!?” Chelsy couldn’t believe it that the woman infront of her was the CEO of the luxurious clothing brand. She was a big fan of the Fontana brand even she herself began to study in fashion design. It is her dream to show the world of her designs. “Yes dear the one and only. However, I don’t want to tie myself up with Fontana. Things have changed and Fontana is no longer in my hands now.
A bright ray of sunlight from the window woke her up. Veena groaned in pain squinting her eyes trying to remember yesterday’s events. This is the second time she got drunk and promised herself not to drink again. She wanted to get out of the bed but something is stopping her. A muscular pair of arms wrapped around her and a hot breath blowing on to the naked skin on her shoulder. The glinting shine of the ring on her finger caught her attention. Oh no…what has she done? She turnd her head and was met by the peaceful sleeping face of Lois. D-Did they just get married!? Slowly grabbing his arm releasing its hold on to her, but Lois tightened his arms. “Where are you going?” he said groggily. “U-Uhm…I should go.” she reasoned out. “T-This is a mistake.” “What mistake? You asked me to marry you and accepted your offer.” He leaned over caging her with his arms. He moved her legs apart wrapping them around his pelvis. She blushed as she roamed her eyes all over his delicious muscular
Lois stared at the gold ring wrapped around his finger. Felix watched his boss silently. He still couldn't understand why boss agreed to marry Veena. He tried hard to think of reasons and ended in a conclusion that involves his grandfather, Emmon Rossenov. "Does Mrs. Rossenov know that you married her for securing your inheritance?" Felix nervously asked. Lois glared at him. "Didn't I tell you not to say a word about it? It doesn't matter if she knows or not. We are merely using each other for our own benefit." "I do believe she still has the right to know, boss." Felix insisted. "Even if I tell her she will leave." "Even if she finds out she might still leave." Felix prodded on. Lois sighed in disbelief. Felix may be his assistant, but he still values his opinion. His office door opened and Veena came in. She is wearing his white shirt that reached her thigh revealing long white legs. He ca
