Intense ringing of my ears is what snaps me from my medication induced slumber, my arm soon going up and placing it against my ear as though that was going to aid me in some way. At first, I was a little confused and perplexed by the ringing as soon as I was conscious, before a very familiar voice speaks in mind.

“Finally, I have some control again!” My wolf’s loud voice in my mind breaks the ringing but in my tired state, her volume was still beyond loud and hurt my ears that much more.

“Must you be so loud?” I asked in an annoyed tone closing my eyes once again hoping I would trick myself into falling back to sleep, where her voice pounding my head soon prohibited me from doing such a thing.

“Of course, due to your heroic stunt, I almost died!” She screamed in my head seeming to be rather agitated over the wolfsbane incident, whilst I just sighed opening up my eyes again knowing with her angrily speaking in my head, I wasn’t getting any sleep.

“Isn’t that something you’d wan

Following Alban into the biggest bathroom I believe I had ever seen, I watch him lean over the white bathtub switching on the warmest water, while I could only look around the room stood with a white towel wrapped around my body. The design was similar to the room that I’d been staying in, the flooring was a grey marble colour with streaks of gold running through, a huge shower with a clear glass exterior stood to the right of the bathtub, whilst two sinks with beautiful mirrors stood to the left but the bathtub seemed to be the main event and stood proudly in the middle. “There’s two of everything.” I mutter to myself looking around the bathroom, there were not only two sinks and two mirrors, but two towel racks, two shelves in the bathtub, one side seemed to be filled with toilettes for men and the other side was filled with women products. “That was an intentional area when I destined my house, one side was for me and when you returned home and discovered we were mates, the oth

Alban and I still remained in the bathtub, which was once full of passion but now, full of uncertainty and worry for what I was about to explain. I knew nothing had happened with the memory, but I hated that it had to come when I was sharing a moment with Alban, Max had already taken what was rightfully Alban’s, now he’s even invading my brain when we try to do such a thing! “I don’t know why I hadn’t thought of this memory before, I wasn’t under the influence of those pills again, but I was in pretty bad shape sitting alone in my bath that I had back at The Full Moon Pack.” I began to explain with a sigh, my arms still around Albans neck as his hands rested on my leg and back. “In what way were you in pretty bad shape?” He asked seeming to get annoyed with that sentence, his hands seeming to pull me even closer to him as though I was in his protective bubble, and nothing could hurt me there. “I had just returned home from a pretty intense training day, I was being taught how to

The longer I sat with Alban in the growing cold water of the bath, the more memories from that fateful day began to play out in my mind as though I had never forgotten them. This certain memory if I would have recalled it at the time, it wouldn’t have many any remote sense to me, but now with everything that I have learnt since leaving that pack, it’s all horrifying clear. “It happened just after I was brought back to my hospital room where Bennett was waiting for me, the surgery to stop the bleeding from various cuts littered all over my body was a success and everyone was waiting for me to wake up.” I began to explain the entire ordeal to Alban, who still sat with me on his lap watching intently whilst offering me some support when he saw the story grew harder to explain. “I don’t know if you’ve ever lost consciousness before, I know it seems as though it’s all I’ve done since arriving back. But when I’m starting to come out of it a bit more, I personally begin to feel my body fi

Alban sat in silence for a moment after I had explained the lost memory I had recalled, he may not have shown what was going around his mind facially, but it was in his eyes I saw the differing emotions flash as though I was watching some kind of movie. They would go to such deep and intense anger for a moment before they seemed to flash with gratitude. “Please say something before we both remain in this freezing bathtub and eventually, catch hypothermia.” I said with a chuckle after a long moment of silence, but my comment does seem to snap Alban out of himself as he looks right in my eyes. “I believe I understand why you desire to keep former Alpha Bennett from the punishment his vile son will receive.” He began to say in a deep voice seeming to have compiled his thoughts a little, which I saw as a positive thing. “And you can see now why blaming Bennett at all would be an injustice, you heard how as soon as he realised what Max was doing, he put a stop to it and forced him ne

Once our little extra activity was finished, both Alban and I left the bathroom and began to get ready, a devilish smirk sat on his lips as he looked at me pleased, it’s clear my actions had been very satisfactory for him. I was more than shocked that I had done such a thing, it’s true what people say, you do get caught up in the moment! Putting that thought to the back of my mind, I focus on getting ready, I wanted to see Lincoln so bad and make sure he was okay, but I had to check on the hounds. They hadn’t seen me since yesterday morning and I worried if I didn’t show my face, what happened back at The Full Moon Pack would only occur again. I was waiting on the reports from Bennett with the findings of that attack, due to the hounds now being in my possession, the report had to be submitted to me so I would know how to adequately deal with them. I hoped whatever it said on the report, didn’t point towards them doing such a thing because I left. After I was changed and ready, I

The temperatures that morning dropped to way below freezing, deadly frozen puddles of ice littered the floor below me where with the added bonus of the thickest fog I believe I had ever seen in my life, I was forced to navigate my way through the woods and hoped I would be able to locate the hounds. Thankfully with my training, I was able to map out my surroundings and move with caution closer to where I believed the hounds were. It was truly as though someone had painted the entire area a thick white colour, it was hard for me to see even an inch away from my face. Many times, I did ask myself if turning back would be in my better interests, but knowing I had to feed the hounds and I was already halfway through, I trekked on. After what seemed to be hours, I arrived at the hound's pen to see them outside waiting for me, such a look of relief sat on my face once I saw them again. I knew Alban had said he sent someone to feed them but unless I can see it, I always worry. Each smelt

I didn’t dare utter a word as we followed Albans parents towards the hospital, the same bright halls I was forced to hide from the day I was released from the hospital clicked under Albans mothers' steps, as always, she was the loudest person around. Before I would have never taken notice of her mannerisms or the way in which the people around her acted, but now because of the little conversation I had heard an old friend have, it’s as though it’s all I could watch as we carried on. She walked in a very dominating manner; it was as though she was either waiting for someone around her to slip up so she could scold or attack them, or she wanted everyone to see she held such greater power than them or her mate did. Each person she’d approached, they’d take a few steps back and seemed to avoid eye contact with them as though she was going to rip their heads off if they did so. The longer we carried on down that corridor and the more people we would pass, the more I began to stare at

Upon hearing the news that this unknown visitor wanted to see me, Alban became even more possessive than usual and demanded that we leave now to determine who was waiting for me. I did assume it would only be he and I that left but what seems to be a running theme here, everybody but my mother and brother left to see with us. On a regular occasion this would piss me off, this person claimed they wanted to talk to me about something rather important, I believed there would be a level of privacy. But with what I remembered surrounding Max and this person also claiming to be from his pack, it felt nice to feel as though I had so much backup if something was to go wrong, even though I knew Alban would be able to kick their asses in a second. Walking through the rather busy pack house due to the time of day it was, everyone seemed to look over and all move to the side to allow us to have a little walkway through, the intense questioning looks which poked holes in me would have caused m

After going over the second half of my marvellous plan, all men agreed my approach would not only be the most successful but also, swift enough so the W.M.O will never be able to catch wind of it beforehand. Alban allowed Russell to use one of the packs labs where he was able to brew The Deadly Sleeping Drought in under an hour, the clear liquid soon placed in a thin glass test tube and in a protective bag so it wouldn’t spill. We all agreed that the quickest and stealthiest way for us to travel to The Full Moon Pack would be in wolf form, so around two hours after I had disclosed my amazing plan, we were all stood at the edge of the border with bags in our hands holding the spare clothes for us to wear so we wouldn’t have to walk around in the nude. “I’ve just realised, you haven’t seen me in wolf form yet, I had shifted while I was away and due to that stupid order, which should really be lifted by now, I haven’t been able to.” I smiled over to Alban as he dug through his bag

Walking into Alban’s office, he sat behind his desk with his leg bouncing in anger and impatience as he waited for me to return. Lincoln sat to the side of him seeming to read a bunch of maps that I had asked from him whilst Russell, sat off to the side seeming to jot down some information. “How did it go?” Alban asked as I closed the door behind me, all eyes seeming to move away from whatever the rest were doing as I stood in the middle of the room. “I sorted it, everything is being moved to a specific location where as soon as you’re ready, you can go see it all. No one held any malice towards what they were doing, yes, some people didn’t like Polly, and most were scared but she was still once this packs Luna. Your father and her did great things for this pack; people are grieving that side of things. People grieve in different ways, and none are the wrong way.” I smiled walking deeper into the room hoping to calm his anger down, he wasn’t doing this out of spite or true anger,

Once Alban had finished his coffee, which he drunk and stated was one of the tastiest coffee’s he believed he’d ever tried, we walk hand in hand out of the house and towards the main section of pack. With all that happened only yesterday, I watched Alban even closer as we walked towards the exit of our private residence, it’s okay here as only Lincoln has permission to enter, but as soon as we walk through those gates, all eyes will be on us. I knew the news surrounding his parents and the hunters had made their rounds, I had received many mind-links from the higher ups in the packs asking me to send their condolences to Alban, I don’t think any wanted to tell him directly. Holding his head up high and placing that same Alpha look even though I knew was his invisible mask, we exit our private sanctuary where many sympathetic stares were sent our way by many people. Sending them tiny smiles as a thank you, I continued walking beside Alban until the pack house came into view and sat

Once Alban allowed himself to cry for so many heartbreaking minutes, I headed downstairs to brew him a coffee, hoping I would be able to work out his professional set up and not have boiling coffee fly at my face. In the mists of me studying all of the many dials and hoping one was going to burst into some kind of song indicating it was the one I had to use, someone walking into the kitchen causes me to jump. “I didn’t mean to startle you, I just came to see if I could grab a glass of water before meeting your brother.” Russell who I’d forgotten was here said by the door, where I simply sent him a smile before staring back at the coffee machine. “It’s okay, I was just making Alban a coffee, if I’m able to work out this scientific machine that is.” I reply with a frustrated sigh, I wanted to try and lift Alban’s spirits but if I mess up, I may make him choke. “Allow me to help, back at The Full Moon Pack before training each day, the kitchen staff would allow me in to make a co

Alban continued to stare at me with confusion in his face but also, a hint of anger as though Russell saving my life while I was away was some sort of betrayal. “What do you mean he saved your life?” He asked in a growl like tone looking down at me, where I simply shook my head going to move away from him, but he stopped me. “I have more important things to discus with you than something that happened in the past that doesn’t really matter anymore-.” I began to try and push it away but when I’m lifted back up on the counter, I knew Alban wasn’t about to let this go. “I will decide what is important enough to discus with me and right now, you explaining how this rouge saved your life and pushed you into some kind of debt with him started?” He asked repeating that unless I told him what I meant with Russell, he wasn’t going to allow either of us to move. “Russell doesn’t see it as though I’m in his debt, he’s actually told me multiple times that he doesn’t want anything back for

Sparks spreading throughout my face gently pulls me out of my sleeping state, after all that happened yesterday and the late hour that I managed to fall asleep, the last thing I wanted to do was wake up in that moment and attempted to ignore it all. Until long kisses were placed along my jaw and neck snapping my eyes open in a second, Alban lay on my chest with a smile on his face watching me. “Glad of you to join me.” Alban smiled his voice deep from sleep whilst I rolled my eyes at his comment before attempting to fall back into dreamland. “Five more minutes.” I groan sinking my face further into the pillow in hopes of blocking the rest of the noise out, I was still very much exhausted from the party and everything in between. “I would always opt to remain in bed tangled up with you but wasn’t it you who said we had a lot to get done today, with your Luna duties and whatever it is you are planning?” Alban asked with a chuckle at my desire to fall back to sleep, where each and

Using the rush of adrenaline and anger that I felt for what these assholes did to my mate, I grab the first who attempted to throw an arrow at me and claw at his neck until he landed dead on the floor. With such a swift kill, I saw his friends look at me a little shocked before getting to action, one man ran at me with a sword of his own, which I managed to kick out of his hand and plunge Samuel’s dagger right into his chest, moving it up so it caused the most damage, I kick him back and allow him to bleed out alone. One by one each man attempted to take me down, but were met with my anger filled hits and bites, as I ripped each man apart, grabbing one man by the scruff of hid neck, I smashed his head so hard off a tree, the old wooden tree fell to the floor with his head bedded inside. When my back was turned, one man grabbed me and attempted to slit my throat, but what ease, I break all the fingers in his hand and throw him over my shoulder, using his own weapon to impale him as

Polly’s huge brown wolf began growling in uncontrollable anger, its midnight black eyes indicating to us that Polly was no longer the person pulling the strings, her wolf had taken full control and was more than willing to rip apart anyone who came close to her. I remained behind Alban, his entire body shielding mine from the danger as my hand gripped his shoulder, Lincoln stood off to the side in his Beta pose preparing for an attack the wolf might unleash on him. Russell had moved off to the side a little assessing the situation and seeing if he could find a way around it while Samual, who had attempted to hurt Polly, lay by a tree unconscious. “What are we going to do?” I whispered gripping onto Alban’s shoulder for dear life, the way Polly’s wolf prowled was evident of how dangerous it was, she truly had nothing to lose and that’s the most dangerous thing. “Whatever happens, that wolf isn’t going to quit until it’s forced to.” Lincoln said walking sideways but ensuring not t

The already dead and dark wood slipped into even more deafening silence as each person attempted to understand what Alban had just said, I didn’t know if this was him also attempting to pull the wool over Samuel’s eyes as he just watched Russell do, or he was serious, but I was left watching my mate more unsure than anything. “You ain’t gonna fool me Alpha, I wasn’t born yesterday, even though you’re my younger brother and you’re one of the only people I love, I don’t trust you. Polly is your mother also and someone as I have seen, you put over everyone else’s safety to help.” Samual scoffed shaking his head at his brother not seeming to fall for Alban’s tricks, who simply shook his head with a sigh staring at Polly who shook with fear behind him. “That was once the truth, I admit I have witnessed the way in which mother treats the pack members and simply believed that is how a Luna runs her pack. But that was all before I was able to see how my mate does, she feels nothing but lo
