~Legend's POV~

I looked at myself in the mirror and smiled in satisfaction.

"Things are about to get hot." Gael said and I chuckled.

I know he does not like the way I did not tell him anything but I just can't.

"Let's get going." I said and we both stepped out of the room.

As we walked the corridors of the palace, the maids and guards bowed in greetings. I released a deep breath and wore a stern face.

Just as we got to the entrance of the throne room that announcer was about to alert them of my presence buy I raised my hand to shun him.

"The Alpha Prince..." He swallowed the rest of the word as I stepped into the room. Everyone turned their heads to towards me. And I stood all and mighty in the middle of the throne hall.

My father and I shared this 'make sure what you want to say does not lead to your dethronement' kind of look and I almost snickered at him.

"Rest, father." I said through the mind link and he seemed to be taken aback. I looked around to take a good look at the royal court and I exhaled deeply.

"So, son what is it you want to tell us?" My father's impatient voice brought my attention back to the throne.

"Good afternoon, Father and the royal court. About a week ago, I met my mate but she was not what we thought she was so... I had to reject her. I mean, I am going to become the Alpha King and I need a Luna Queen at that. So my father proposed a marriage deal to me and I will say that I am unwilling to..." A large intake of air stopped me from going further. I looked around and saw the royal court with their heads bowed before my father and I knew that I am poking the devil already but I have to continue before my father makes a rash decision.

"I..." My father growled.

"I am unwilling to not accept the proposal." I completed, cutting my father off. I looked at him in the eye and a faint smirk appeared on my lips. I undyingly lived my life for this position. I ran and fought. And became cold hearted. And became ruthless. And became uncaring. But I have to do all things to secure it.

"Oh... See that. Our Alpha Prince is capable of giving us all heart attack." One of the royal workers said as he forced out a laughter and everyone followed in hot nervousness but my father and I maintained the eye contact we were still sharing. When he saw that I was not backing down, his left eyebrow twitched and he threw a glare at me then he looked away.

"Don't mind your father. Lucas said he is proud of you. You were able to stand up to him." Ryder said and I am quite surprised he said too many words.

He scoffed and relaxed again. "Don't get used to it." He snickered. I smiled.

"So who is this bride that was proposed?" Someone sensible finally managed to ask the throbbing question.

As I was about to speak, my father spoke up first.

"Some weeks ago, Ethan and I were discussing on who could probably be a match for Legend. One who had no rival. Then we went through the ladies who are the daughters of the royal courts. We found one and it turned out to be the daughter of the chief councillor of the werewolf community." He said and the murmurs began to become ear tickling.

I was also wondering how he managed to get a mate for me so quick. Never knew he was already planning it all along. Did my mother know about this too?

"Yes, I know. But it was long before he found his mate. But guess what? Things are easier now. Okay, I know the chief councillor thinks highly of himself but I am the Alpha King and I will speak to him personally about it." He said and they all seemed to calm down.

I have not met this chief councillor before but I feel like he is some big man. Can't wait to meet him.

*

Gael kept huffing and puffing behind me as I walked my way to my mother's chamber. I exhaled and came to a halt. I turned towards him slowly and he stopped it.

"Will you stop huffing and puffing behind me?" I said to him with a stern glare. He readjusted his stance and looked above my head.

"You could have at least told me about what you were going to do. Do you even know you are going against the best friends code?" He asked with an exasperated breath and my lips twitched but I stopped it.

"What do you mean by best friends code?" I asked with a raised eyebrow.

"Best Friends code that states that don't keep things away from each other?" He said and I burst out laughing.

"Wait... You don't mean it. Do you?" I asked him and he scoffed.

"I see you are going to visit your mother. I will go look at some things and look if I have to clean up some of your deep shits too." He said.

I snorted. "I don't have shits that you need to clean up." I yelled after him as he walked away.

*

I walked into my mother's chamber and raised my hand, cutting off the announcer. He wanted to announce them of my presence but I don't need it. I stepped into the place and saw the maids styling her hair and she was staring at herself in admiration.

Just as if they noticed me, they all turned towards me and I waved them off. My mother smiled at the mirror as she saw my reflection. I walked towards her and the maids moved away from her. I leaned closer and bent to give her a peck on her hair. She held my hands that were on her shoulders and turned towards me.

"Come closer." She said with a smile full of mischief but she is my mother so I let her do was she wanted. I bent down even more and she gripped me by my ear which made her earn a whine from me.

"I heard of the stunt you pulled on my mate today. How many times have I told you to always behave yourself?" She asked as I tried to loosened her finger but instead she intensified it. I winced and tried moving away from her but she stood up and we rounded the room.

"Mother, please release your hand. It hurts." I begged her and I knew my ear already reddened.

"You don't do that to my mate!" She said sternly.

"So it's all about father now. What of me? Your own son?" I whined as I held on to her hand.

She hissed out and still held it tight. My mother had these traits that made her stand out and also fit to be the Luna Queen.

"I will not have what you did to my mate happen again." She said.

"But you should be taking my side. I mean I even had to reject my mate because of it." And that was when she stopped and I looked at her.

"Why did you reject her?" She asked with her face contorted into a frown as her hand loosened a bit and I knew I was backed into a corner.

Shit. Shit. Shit.

She does not know about it. Father did not tell her but what was the thing they told her about her.

I'm dead.

"Because we found him a better option for him and not like the lady wanted to be mate with him anyways." My father's voice spoke up casually as he walked in.

Thank goodness.

~Third Person's POV~The moon was dim tonight as if trying to give a sign to the offenders that the day of their punishment already arrived. The shrews made their creaking sounds, making everywhere give off this eerie feeling. Strong and hidden guards stood outside the small apartment in preparation for the upcoming mission. His heart hammered against his chest as he paced to and fro with beads of sweat flowing down his forehead. In fact, his shirt was already soaked. He was finally caught. They finally caught him. How could that have been possible? He was careful about it, right? No wrong. How could they have found out about it so soon at that? To say he was even yet to accomplish his mission was another thing. He looked around for his phone but the motherfucking technology made item was no where to be found. Way to go. Good. Just good. All he could just do was expect the worse."Just come out in peace. Now!" Legend said calmly. He was in no mood to yell at all since he knew that th

  • Mated To The Alpha Called Legend   CH 38

~Legend's POV~I walked into my chambers with a throbbing head ache only to meet Ava sitting on my bed comfortably, dressed in a flimsy dress like the other day. More to add to my throbbing ache. I fought so hard not to scoff at her."Your highness." She said coyly and came towards me. I looked at her with fake acknowledgement. She looked scared, more like frightened. "Ava, there is nothing to be scared of. I will not let anything happen to you. And besides, Liam is here with you in the palace also. You can meet up with him and confide in him since I am always busy." I said all at a go. I don't want her sulking up to me like I am her prince in shining armor. Heck, I am not even close to it.She seemed to relax a bit. "Can I sleep here with you tonight?" She asked. What?! Why would she ask that?! No ways. "What if there is an attack, I can't protect myself with you here." I said, just have to give any stupid excuse. I sighed, gripped her shoulders tight and

Biting back the groan that was threatening to escaped, he tiptoed into the office, looking around consciously and making sure no one him or was even there to see him.He was here for some thing but one thing is that he did not know the thing was kept. He practically didn't know where it was. Moving towards the stack of papers that was on your shelf, he pulled them one by one and saw nothing. "Where did this dumbass keep it?" He whisper-mused in annoyance. Exhaling deeply, he looked around and could not fathom where the ring was hidden. The ring... It held the royal power. • Mated To The Alpha Called Legend   CH 36

~Third Person's POV~"Dominic, I am very sure Gael won't do some thing like that. Legend may be mistaken or may have mistaken him for the culprit. Gael will definitely not betray the werewolf kingdom. At least you know so well how I have brought him up. And I don't know why Legend did not consider that this same Gael was the person he grew up with, together. He does not even trust his own Beta." Ethan said as Dominic was busy playing with goldfish in the pond before him.Dominic exhaled deeply and turned to him because he knew his long time Beta won't drop the topic since this was concerning his son's integrity and also his lineage was in danger. "You and I both know we are like fire and ice. There is absolutely nothing I can say that will make Legend revoke his order on your son. He will never listen to any word as long as it comes from me. All I will say is that you should probably investigate this matter very well and dig up counter evidence to the ones he saw." Dominic s
