Chapter 11

Alpha Malakai's POV;

Nash's face crumbled as he couldn't find words to reply to me confidently, and I was holding my wolf back not to unleash any form of attack on Nash. Besides, Rylee doesn't even know that I am her mate.

"Alpha, I already promised Rylee that I will marry her. I know that I proposed to Bella, but I plan to talk to Bella to accept Rylee too, as my second wife," Nash said, and my face fell. However, his phone rang out before I could reply, and he ignored responding to it.

"Who is calling you? Go on and answer the call," I told him when I saw him frown.

"It's Rylee," he answered, and I ordered him.

"Answer her call. Why is she calling you?" I wanted to eavesdrop on what she wanted to tell him, but Nash shook his head.

"I will give her a call later. Alpha Malakai, please, let me speak to my mate about it. I promise not to reject her, but I cannot end my relationship with Rylee too," Nash begged, but his phone rang out again. While I became uneasy, like something was not right.

"Answer the call first. It's an order," I told Nash, and he looked at me with confusion and answered Rylee's call. But we heard her mumbling words about how Nash's mother has rejected her mate for her boyfriend. Why cannot Nash do the same for her?

Nash looked at me tensely as he sat across from me. He knows that I haven't dismissed him yet, so he has to answer the call in my presence.

"Hello, Rylee, what's wrong?" Nash asked her, mustering the sweetest voice ever.

"Hello Nash. Elizabeth and I have been kidnapped, and we are taken to the pack's house," Rylee announced.

"What? What's wrong? What did you do?" Nash tried to ask, but Rylee said, "Come there and meet me. I don't know, but it has something to do with your new mate, Bella Harvey."

The call disconnected, and Nash rose to his feet to leave my office.

"Alpha, I have to rush back to the pack's house now," Nash said, and I laughed a little.

"Since you were born, have you even been into the pack's house? What exactly do you want to go there and do? To embarrass yourself?"

Nash's face fell as he heard my question. Indeed, his mother was banished from the pack's house by my father, and her rank was even below the Omega of our pack. Though she was tough as an alpha, that only helped her to do menial jobs to survive with her mate.

"But, Rylee is in danger, and I have to go and see her," Nash said, though his voice lacked confidence.

"Fine. You can leave. I will see you later, and you must have a conclusion to my proposal. To keep off from cheating on your mate, and then you can accept my job offer to you. The offer is open until this weekend. Then I will find another staff to take the role," I said, as Nash exited my guest chair.

He looked at me and nodded. "I will think about it, Alpha. Thank you."

Nash immediately left my office, and I picked up my phone and contacted Fabian instead of reaching out to him through our mindlink.

"Find out what's happening in the pack's house and why Rylee Martin was taken there. Report to me immediately," I said, and Fabian replied, "Understood, Alpha."

The phone call ended, but I looked back at my monitor screen that had photos of Rylee and Nash together.

"Even though I cannot have Rylee as my mate, I must do everything to protect her," I said, and went back to checking other meetings that I had for the day.

A few minutes later, my phone rang, and Beta Fabian was the one on the call.

"What is it?" I asked him as I answered his call, just as I was preparing to leave my office for another business meeting that I had.

"Alpha, I called the head of the guards there and was informed that my sister has summoned Rylee and her friend," Fabian said, as his voice sounded low.

"Why would your sister summon Rylee and her friend because I heard her mention that she was kidnapped by an unknown driver?" I said, trying to keep my voice down.

"I do not understand, Alpha. But I assume it must be girl's issues," Fabian said, and I cleared my throat to warn him.

"Tell your sister to keep her distance away from Rylee Martin. Is that understood?" I demanded. There was little hesitation on the call as Fabian didn't reply to me immediately.

"Alpha, what's going on? Since last night, you carried that little Omega away. Don't you think that you are beginning to care too much about her? She is just an Omega, and I don't know what she did wrongly to my sister," Fabian tried to defend his sister as I knew that he was possessive of her.

"Fabian, you should know that no one questions my decision in this pack. If you dare to go against me, I will have you replaced with another Beta to take over your job. And also, whatever happened between me and Rylee last night should be left between us. Do not let me find out that you disclosed the news to anyone else. Otherwise, I will deal with you?" I threatened my Beta, and he asked, "How about Rylee? What if she remembered it was you who was with her last night? If the pack members get to find out that you are interested in an Omega, there will be a riot."

"I am aware. Just get to it and warn your sister to keep her distance away from Rylee. That's all," I ended the call on Fabian as I exited my office and entered the elevator on the top floor hallway.

As I got down to the first floor, I stepped out and went to my car, then I got into the driver's seat and drove off to my corporation branch in this pack. I had some meetings with other pack Alphas, and also, some other top business holders in my pack.

Arriving at the D.M.P Corporation building, I parked my car, alighted it, and went into the building as I made my way to the second floor where the conference hall was.

I could see some of my top business partners were present, as well as some of my shareholders and elders who had partnered with my father before I took over the pack five years ago. Though I was mateless, the elders wanted to organize a festival for me to pick a mate, but I haven't accepted it.

However, I knew that my mother would raise the issue, as I was not getting any younger.

While in the conference room, I paid attention to the points of our business conversation. As the meeting drew to an end, my finance executive, Mr. Wren Graham, stood up and reported the financial report of my company, while I listened attentively.

My secretary jotted all the facts, as she came to the board meeting with her car. When the meeting ended, Mr. Wren reached out to me.

"Alpha, I would like to see you."
