Chapter Six

I watched him swoop out of the bed in the early hours of today. He didn’t care to tell me where he was heading to .

I don’t like the fact that I’m starting to feel that I’m entitled to his actions , how he behaves.

I swooped my feet over the bed and stretched. I peeped through the window.

“ Do not let anyone know where I’m heading to, I will be back,” he said to a pack guard.

And that just piqued my curiosity.My inquisitive mind probed me to follow him, but that will mean that I’m prying into his business too much.

I was about to lie down back on the bed, but I was curious.

I walked gently out of the room, using a scarf to cover my head.

“ Where do you think you are going to go ?”a voice asked, sounding very authoritative.

I turn my head slowly to look at him. It was a pack guard, the one he was talking to.

“ errrm…To take a walk ?” I said slowly, trying to not say something awkward.

“ Oh my Luna, I’m sorry for interrupting you,” he apologies,“ But.. I don't think you should be out there this early in the morning.”

I decided to scratch a non-existent itch at the back of my ear, “ Well.. I was just about to go back inside.”

He nodded and then a curt smile to me.

But just when he turned and started walking away. I quickly diverted to the direction I was going.

I sighted the shadow of Asher and I followed , tiptoeing at the back of him.

I hit my feet on a stick on the ground,“ouch,” I whimpered.

And then he stopped but I quickly hid myself behind some branches.

He turned around and his gaze shifted across the woods for a moment, but then he walked away.

I heaved a deep sigh as I placed my palm on my chest.

I hid behind a tree as I watched him go into a small house .

I followed immediately, placing my ears close to the window.

A Man just the same age as the Alpha was inside.

“ Welcome My Alpha,” He greeted and made a curt bow to him

“ Thank you Lucien,” Asher answered and shook hands with him.

They both sat on the chairs opposite each other, and then I thought this place isn’t a house, but more like a relaxation place or just a meeting point.

“ So how do you plan to get rid of her?” Asher questioned.

“ It’s going to be so hard, because from the look of things the mating isn’t just normal … there’s something more,” Lucien answered.

“ So.. what do I do now ?” Asher questioned.

Lucien twirls his finger in the air,“ You may have to set her up on something, then the pack will blame her for it, then the pack’s punishment will determine her fate or you might have to reject her.”

My heart thudded lightly in my chest, wanting to know what they were talking about. This was not the plan.I shook my head slowly. Then my face marred into a frown.

“ You know I won’t be able to reject her, like not so soon at least.” Asher said.

Lucien heaved a deep sigh,“ Well, how about you do this ins…,”

“ Ouch!” I flinched as I massage the spot an insect has bitten me.

They both turned to face the direction of my voice but I quickly lowered my head and scurried away into the woods.

“ Who is there?” Asher asked, his voice laced with anxiety.

I shrunk my body to the ground as I heard them approaching outside.

“ It’s like someone followed you,” Lucien says, his eyes scrutinising the surroundings .

“ Hey you! Why are you here?” He griped my arm

“ Arrgh,” I yelled. My heart racing in my chest.

“I…I .. I was just taking a walk,” I stuttered.

“ In the woods?” He sneered.

“ As you can see,” I said with a scoff.

“ She’s the One.” Lucien said and then I realised he was standing there.

They both looked at each other but didn’t say anything.

“ I will see you again.” Asher said to Lucien and he nodded.

He pulled me by my arms like a mother dragging her child to school.

“ Leave me alone! Let me go!” I tried to force my arm away from his grip.

He Finally freed my arm and we halted our step.

“ Why were you following me?” He asked, his brows arched in furrowed

“ I wasn’t ,” I yelled.

He leaned closer to me, his gaze fixed on me,“ If you get in my business you wouldn’t like the outcome.”

He said and started to walk away.

I heaved a deep sigh,“ I heard it .”

He halted his step but didn’t turn back .

“I heard it!” I repeated.

And then he turned around .

“ I don’t care , it’s not about you. Stay out of my business,” he said, his forehead creasing in anger.

And then he started to walk away.

“ No matter what, I won’t let you use me !” I said

But he continues walking away? Like he didn’t hear it.

I won’t allow him to have his way. If he dares to set me up, I’m going to do that before he does!

As I got to the packhouse , I tried to fake a smile along the hallway, deep down my heart was threatening to burst through my chest .

I got to the room and Asher was sitting on bed , his back facing me.

“I thought we had a plan and weren't we supposed to stick with it?” I questioned

“ Well. You weren’t sticking to the plan either,” he said

And then he stood up,“ You were stalking me!” He yelled

“ And you were trying to get rid of me!” I fired back at him.

He clenched his jaw“ If you are trying to boss me over, then I will definitely be putting you in your place!”

“ GUARDS!!!”
