Chapter Eight: Sworn enemy

Eliza’s pov

“Mate will be looking for us,” Jasmine told me, but I wasn't going to go back there. Not now. They would kill me if they ever found out that it was me who had harmed Daniella. I never knew that I could be capable of anything like that.

Jasmine lay down at the edge of a beautiful stream and took a long-needed drink from it. All the running had exhausted poor Jasmine.

There was a small entrance at the edge of the stream that would shelter us for the night. I decided it best to shift back to human to allow my Wolf to rest up for a few hours. I could swim in the stream, and luckily, it was the warmer weather, so that I wouldn't freeze. I waded into the stream, the cool water soothing my weary body.

“Hey, what are you doing trespassing on our sacred land?” an angry voice boomed from behind us, causing me to be startled.
