Chapter 16

I wake up to someone placing soft kisses down the side of my neck and let out a soft moan before opening my eyes to see Ryker. I turn around and wrap my arms around him as I realize Rayne is no longer in the bed.

"Good morning, little fawn." he greets me, kissing my forehead softly.

"Morning." I mumble back.

"Me and Rayne have some things to take care today. He had to leave early since he had to go to his realm and now, I have to get ready to go. I'm really sorry we can't be here but don't worry we will be back in a couple hours, okay? We want to make sure we aren't gone too long especially after what happened." he tells me reassuringly, as he reaches out and to stroke my cheek softly.

I lean into his hand, letting out a soft content sigh.

"Okay." I reply softly, and he leans in and captures my lips with his.

"I love you." he states, before pulling away.

"I love you too. " I reply, before snuggling back into the sheets.

"See you soon." he tells me, before leaving the room.
