Prologue
"Fuck! Find him! Don't let that bastard escape!" A loud shout rang out inside an abandoned building. The man clenched his teeth as he could not believe the alpha leader of the white pack they were about to kill escaped.
“Fuck, fuck!” Clever huffed as he ran; his ego couldn’t accept the fact that he was running away like a coward right now.
But he tried, he gave his best.
He knocked down most of his opponents one by one, but his enemies seemed endless, while he only had himself. Even though he wanted to keep his dignity, his life is more important right now.
“Fuck! They ambush me, those bastards!” He growled as he quickly hid in an alley while holding onto his bleeding abdomen; the red sticky blood kept coming out from his wound. “They always love to play dirty tricks!”
Annoyed displayed on his face by the thought that he was ambushed by one of his enemy's group, and not only that, they are doing it very boldly in the streets of New York!
Street lights were bright, the honking of cars, and drunk humans were on the sides.
“They fuckin’ ready to finish me this time!” He cursed as he pinned his hand to his bloody wound; he jolted from the pain but ignored it.
He could not believe he fell on their tricks.
If only he hadn't gotten the wound, he would have been able to fight, but there were too many for him to take down.
He can’t let himself get killed, not easily.
Clever can’t take a risk to save his ego, as an Alpha.
Blood dripped down to his fingers; he never thought he would end up like this.
“Ugh!” He could not help but groan as he leaned on the dark alley; the excruciating pain was hard to endure.
“Hello, is there anyone there?” A gentle voice echoed. “Are you okay?”
Footsteps approached where he was; it put him more on edge.
Pain in his side and abdomen reminded him that he should not suddenly shift, yet he had no other choice!
Composed moans lingered in the alley.
The sound of footsteps stopped near where he was hiding.
What Clever saw before he passed out was a slim silhouette.
As he felt a very gentle touch from the shadow.
And a very nice scent… so addictive.
It’s like soothing all his pain.
“Hey! Oh gosh, poor cutie.” She said with a soft voice.
