Dear lovely readers, hope you enjoyed the chapter! Now that the main story is almost coming to an end, I'm thinking of a short side story for Luca and Javier, what do you think?
CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY TWO**“Huh?” Soral voices in confusion.“I mean, even the most hateful places can birth something so beautiful. It gave me something as precious as you, so how can I hate everything about it?” Vidarr's eyes turn slightly glassy while Soral's heart is on the verge of ripping with emotions.“I used to feel like I didn't have a purpose, I also didn't want to be anywhere that has her painful memories. Wandering around was enough for me, but then, you came along, and for the first time, I wanted you to be mine,” So, he was desperate to fill the hole and scar that the world gave him, ‘I want to take all of his sadness away,’ Soral thinks, ‘but how can I do that?’“I w-was scared,” Soral says and at Vidarr's remorseful look, he rushes to add.“Not of you, rather it was what you wanted that terrified me the most,” The old familiar rush of apprehension. . . Resentment returns, attacking Soral with full force. “The family I knew sold me to become a slave. I w
CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY ONE**Soral awakens slowly to the unfamiliar cottage, the fire has gone dim, casting a faint shadow in the hut. It's still dark, some hours are left before morning. He gasps softly at the sharp squeeze around his midsection, the discomfort which had woken him.Vidarr. He may get snapped in half if Vidarr keeps gripping too tightly, Soral winces again, but the barbarian appears to be very much asleep. The uneven rise and fall of his chest and low, the breathy groan that hisses from his mouth suddenly make Soral wonder if he may be having a nightmare. Again?Vidarr's seems to me muttering something and Soral makes out one word. Rhona. His brain rings with recognition. He has heard Vidarr mention this name before, in the mountains. And just like that night, Vidarr looks tortured, his expression twisted into broken fragments of torment that make Soral's heart squeeze.“W-wake up,” Soral wiggles when Vidarr's hold around him tightens even further and
CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY Soral inhales swiftly when Vidarr plants a soft kiss on his temple. “Mate” His nose buries into Soral’s hair as he inhales deeply. “Don’t apologise for wanting me.” Vidarr's voice grows thicker with emotions as he says."Do you have any idea how long I’ve wanted this? You reach for me like this. Do you know how insane it drives me to know how much you need me?.” Soral doesn't get another warning when Vidarr's lips slam onto his and it isn’t gentle. It is claiming, every part of him is starved, and so he devours hungrily on the hot and sweet tongue of his mate. Soral pulls back with a breathless protest, inhaling heavily when Vidarr presses his forehead to his, a soft intense look flashing in his eyes, “I want your tears, your confusion, your clinginess, all of it. I want you, completely. So don’t pull away from me again.”“O-okay,” Soral manages out, his voice strangled.“Good, because I’m not letting you go.”Soral lets out a soft moan when Vidarr k
CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND NINETEEN **Vidarr's breath visibly falters, stunned into silence; the popping sound of wood burning murmurs in the air as his calloused fingers grip Soral's chin, and his thick thumb teases the glistening wetness on his omega’s soft cheek, which is highlighted by the fire.“Omega, don’t joke about things like this!” Vidarr’s whisper is rough, but his irises become even darker, as he allows himself to toy with the thought. And then, with a low warning growl, he starts to nudge Soral off his thigh, deciding that it's too dangerous to hold him this close. His primal side cannot handle it.“If I let you go right now, you better leave, I don't have enough control to hold myself back,” His jaw ticks with internal struggle. Soral feels a stir of hurt and . . . And annoyance when Vidarr starts to push him away. He doesn't believe me?Both his arms encircle Vidarr's body stubbornly, and Vidarr's eyes turn hard. . . A clear warning.“I'm not joking, Vidarr, I just w
CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND EIGHTEEN **Soral watches Lyrien leave the feast, his brows tight with unease as Lyrien chases after Rene who had just excused himself some seconds agoLyrien is brooding, terrifying. . . How can a cruel Alpha like him make Rene happy? Soral thinks sourly; at least Vidarr is kind, considerate, and.... Wait! How did Vidarr end up in his thoughts yet again? It feels as though his whole mind has been claimed by the barbarian; Vidarr keeps revolving in the centre of it all. ‘I can't even get his name out of my lips each time I speak!’ Soral thinks, shuddering inwardly with growing alarm even as Rene's earlier words probe his mind. 'Do you love him by any chance?' What if it's true?Impossible. He’d know if he is in love, right? So why does he feel more conflicted than ever? Especially now that he knows that Rene is safe, shouldn't he be making plans to leave? Why does the thought of returning to his quiet lonely life make his stomach twist?Something’s chan
CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND SEVENTEEN **Rene spends most of the day catching up with Soral and Tyr, and by evening, a small feast is held to celebrate Vidarr’s return.Even this small crowd makes Rene's stomach churn with bile, their scents are too heavy for his overly sensitive nostrils, making him nauseous. Why is this happening even after taking the hormone suppressants Amala prescribed? His eyes locate Lyrien, who is conversing with Vidarr and Haesir, and he quickly excuses himself from Kai and the rest; he hurries out of the small 'family' gathering, gasping heavily for a much-needed fresh doze of air. How long before this phase gets over? Will he be trapped inside his hut for the rest of this pregnancy? Lyrien had even joked that this baby seemed very possessive already, making him sick at every turn, just to isolate him. Rene puffs out a quiet sigh, deciding to take a stroll further down the tribe lands as the night breeze feels cool against his flushed face. Too worked up
