Erica's POV
I sit beside him without any permission, of course I leave 2 rulers space between us.He turnes to me, "You must be so brave to sit beside me without my invitation," he hissed.
"Yeah. Yeah. I got your point. But I can't stand on shouting again and again while having a conversation, when I could just sit beside you so we can hear each other better," I defended.
I see no reaction to his face so I buzz in my favor. "I've heard that you're a very successful billionaire and you have a company of your own," I started.
"If you're here for money, how much do you need?" he bumped inI was shocked. "What? No, no, no," I defense, but after a few seconds I just realize that my favor actually has to deal with some money.
"Well, uhmm---yes. Maybe? But! I promise you that I would pay you after you help me," I assured him.
"So what kind of help do you need?" he asked with a boring tone.
I took a deep breath before I speak. "You see, I just got out of prison earlier. But, don't judge me. I'm NOT a criminal," I emphasize the word 'not' cause I wanted my name to be clean and he would not look at me with disgust and horror.
"So you were wrongly imprisoned?" he asked
I gave him a questioning look. "How do you know?" I asked out of curiosity.
He lean to the mini table and picked up the glass wine, he take a zip before answering my question. "You said it yourself, you were put in jail but you're not a criminal. That only explains that you are wrongly imprisoned," he explain while not even looking at me.Alright. I'm the dumb one. But he's also dumb. How could he just believe me? "You believe me completely? What if I'm not saying the truth and I was just here for your money?" I asked trying to test him.He looked at me and answered, "You came here looking so desperate and asking for my help. The way you talk, I could already sense that you're not lying."
"Wow. Your a good deductionist." I accept the fact that, just now, I was amazed by this man.He started to swirl the glass of wine to a circular motion. "Sometimes it's better for us to use our commonsense," he replied.
"And now, you're asking help from me. You want revenge, am I right?" he deducted again.
My eyes widened as it sparkles. "Your amazing!" I exclaimed. "I could be your number one fan. You're like Sherlock Holmes's son!" I praise him like he's the best person that I've ever met.
I was just praising him this much cause I want him to be overwhelmed and then eventually he would say yes to my favor.
"Enough with such praising," he cut off.
"You don't want some compliments?" I asked.
"I will not help you," he directly said, completely ignoring my question.
My eyes widened as my eyebrows met each other. I got shocked. "But, why? I said I'm going to pay you once I get what I wanted," I insisted."I don't know you," he simply said in a matter-of-fact tone.
"That's all?!" I couldn't help myself and yelled at him
He take another zip from his wine, enjoying it's exquisite taste. "I see no reason of helping you. I don't do charity works. And besides, I'am not the God of Justice. I can't promise you that you will receive the justice and revenge that you wanted."I felt like someone had shooted me thousands of arrows to the different parts of my body. He's such a dumb straight-forwarded person. He didn't care about the feelings of others."So you consider 'helping me' as a charity work?!" I exclaimed, I feel so humiliated right now.
I stood up. "You know what? Nevermind! Just forget that this night happen!" I yelled at him. "There are other guys out there who would willingly help me and will sure do understand my situation," I added.
He was such a bastard! He was not even paying attention to me or to what I'm saying, he keeps on staring at the glass of wine that he keeps on swirling and swirling again and again. That's it! I wouldn't get anything from this bastard. As I was about to take my first step to leave him, he said, "Goodluck on finding the right guy."
I gave him a death glare before I leave. He totally pissed me off!***
"How did it go?" Silver asked when I arrived at her house, she was watching TV when I arrived.
I sit on the sofa, next to her. "He did not agreed. And worse?! He humiliated me!" I exclaimed.
"Ooowsss. That hurts," she murmured. "No worries, I have already found your next target."
Erica's POV"Are you okay? Did he hurt you?" Klyde asked. I could see in his eyes that he's so worried.I shook my head. "N-no. He didn't saw me and he didn't approach me either." He exhaled loudly out of relief. We went inside his mansion. I tried to calm myself down while Klyde is doing some phonecalls with someone I don't know. He seems tensed and irritated."Erica," Klyde called, he's finished with his phonecalls. I immediately turn to him. He sat on the couch across me. "I have a couple of big news for you. Can you handle it?"I got curious because of his question but then I nodded."Let's start with the man that killed Madeline... Tiger has been tracing him for weeks already before you saw him earlier--- but he's just so mysterious. He goes around the city and different provinces using different names and sometimes different disguises and identities. He has three criminal records in his three different identities.""Why didn't the police arrested him?" I asked. "He's good at hi
Erica's POV"We will miss you, Aila."My co-janitresses hugged me tightly for the last time. I resigned today. It was for my own good."I'll pay a visit. And besides, we can still hang out some times," I said as we let go of our hug. They were in a circle form in front of me, all staring at me sadly. "Thank you, guys." For the first and last time as Aila Miller, I smiled to them."Take care, girl," said Anne. I just nodded to them before I leave the janitors quarters. I'm gonna miss them. I only spent a coouple of months with them but I had a great time. And because of them, I realized one thing... that I can be truely happy with those people who really accepts me even though they don't have the riches. As I was walking by the lounge area, someone held me by the arm and grabbed me to an empty meeting room. When I finally saw who it was, I rolled my eyes. Zoe."I know you're resigning but don't tell to anyone my secret. Okay?" she uttered firmly, warning me."What will I do to your sec
Erica's POVThe next day was normal to me. But my mind was completely somewhere else.Since Klyde insisted, he performed the DNA test between Alice and Zoe. Speaking of Alice, she's getting better now. And by Friday, I'm going to resign. All was going in our plan... except for this thing. While I was moping the floor, someone stood right in front of me so I looked up to him and saw Matthew. I was startled by his sudden appearance but I didn't show it. "G-good morning, Sir Matthew," I greet politely using the Aila Miller's voice. He was looking at me like I did a crime to him. "Come with me to my office." My forehead creased on what he said. "I need you to clean something there."Without any other word, he turn his back to me and started walking away. With my head crowded in thoughts, I followed him. When I entered his office, he was already sitting on his office chair so I started mopping the floor."Erica."My eyes went w
CHAPTER 22Erica's POV"I know I'm ugly stop it," I said lazily. He let out a chuckle and leans back to his seat."Ehem." We both looked at the waiter whose carying a glistening tray contaning our order. Well, Klyde ordered a lot and I know that this is just the appetizer. "Here are your orders, ma'am and sir." We watch him gently put the dishes on our table.Even though I really want to appreciate the beauty of these expensive dishes, I can't. I sighed heavily. I used to visit five star restaurants before and taste these foods with perfection. How I miss those good old days. How I miss my old self."Eat. You'll get prettier," said Klyde when the waiter walks away. I rolled my eyeballs again and started eating.I was in the midst of appreciating the taste of the dish when a thought popped up to my mind.Wait. Wait. Wait. Wait. Wait. Wait!!!Is this--- perhaps... a date?!?!I swallowed hard and looked up to him. He paused
Erica's POVAlice is just a young and innocent little girl. But because of my family, she grew up realizing that the world is dark and filled with cruelty."I need Alice's toothbrush," I said casually to Alisson. I've been here for the past two hours, helping Alisson take care of Alice. She's getting better but still needs some rest. That's why me and Alisson talked on the living room.I saw how her forehead knotted and shot me with questioning eyes, "Why?""For a DNA test," I answered as I sit on the couch, facing her. "I have an idea on who could her mother be.""T-that's a good thing." She smiled but it didn't reached her ears, it's almost a faint smile. Before I leave, Alisson handed me Alice's toothbrush and in return I gave her the new toothbrush that I bought earlier. I gave them both farewell before I leave and ride on a taxi and went straight to Silver's house."Does Tyler know a doctor who can perform a DNA tes
Erica's POV"At least now, we prooved that it's the real hard drive your looking for," Klyde mentioned as he handed me the glass of water.I immediately accept it and drink from it. After I cried so hard, Klyde managed to calm me down. I could say that he knows how to pampered and calm down a woman's heart. He accompany me to sit on the couch and assisted me. For the first time around, I felt that he's actually a caring man. Also, maybe enough to be trusted."I need to tell you something," I spoke, putting back the glass on the mini table in front of us. I looked to my right, facing him. "There's a witness on Madeline's death. And I know her. I know where she lives, and I know how she'd have been," I said courageously."Excuse me, Miss Miller, but are you talking about the woman who hides behind the boxes and witnessed the murder?" Mr. Tiger asked. We watched the video together that's why he knows.I gulped before I speak. "Yes
Erica's POVI honestly don't know what to do yet. I don't know where to start. And I don't have any idea on what will my future be. But one thing is clear to me--- I should do my best to get the revenge that I needed and serve justice to those innocent souls that my family ruined.I didn't answered Klyde's question, instead I asked him if we could wait until Tiger gets here. I wanted to clear some things before I proceed with the plan. The whole living room was so silent, Klyde tooked a shower first and the maids were at the kitchen. I'm all alone in this huge living room and the silence is driving me crazy to sleep. It's only early in the afternoon but I could already feel how heavy my eyes were.A janitress' life isn't a joke. It's tiring. And yet, my 'very great' Aunt and Uncle didn't pay their employees the right amount on the right time. This is another problem that I should solve.I stayed in silence for a little while, as m
Klyde's POV"[The company is going to examine all their employees next week. I need you to get her out of there.]"I feel like I can see the future. My guess was right. I already told Erica that this is possible to happen and now, it is really going to happen."Alright. Thank you for letting me know," I answered. It tooked us a couple of more minutes, discussing some matters before we say goodbye to each other. It's Friday today, Gil and Rosett will probably examine their employees on Monday next week since they are busy this week. Damn. We're runnin' out of time.I immediately dialed Tiger's number and called him, he eventually answered. "So how was it?" I barged in."[Miss Miller has done a good job. She had sent me the hard drive's picture and I'am currently on my way to pick up Miss Miller from the address that she had given to you and we'll drive together going to Mr. Wilson's house]" he reported.Mr. Wi
Erica's POV "Done!" I screamed out of joy, raising my left hand in the air while holding a hair pin that I used to open the padlock. Klyde, who's sitting at a couch near me, clapped his hands elegantly. "Not bad. You're already a master at lock-picking," he complimented. "I wouldn't be surprised if you used your knowledge in lock-picking to enter my room and seduce me." Or maybe he's not complimenting me. I gave him a bored-face look. "Can you stop with your nonsense?" I said, rolling my eyeballs against him. But the scumbag, just laughed at me. After what happened earlier, I did not go back to the company but instead, me and Klyde, discuss some matter. And the first thing that we need to do is to find the hard drive that Alisson was talking about. I haven't told him about Alisson and Alice yet, it's not the right time. Since, there is a locked room inside Uncle Gil's office, which I think there is something fishy insid
