Chapter 9

Author: KarenW
Isabelle’s POV

Selene’s expression changed instantly. “You’re not going to kill me?”

Jace slowly lifted his head. “Kill you?”

A cold smile appeared on his face. “That would be too much mercy, Selene.”

He stood. “I want you to spend the rest of your life there.”

His eyes held no warmth.

“Don’t worry. I won’t let you die.”

“In fact, I’ll make sure you live as long as possible.”

He smiled slightly.

“If you become injured or sick, I’ll send the best Healers to treat you.”

His voice lowered. “I will

Isabelle’s POVAfter Selene returned from the Abyss, she finally broke.I once went to visit her during the night. The only thing she whispered was, “It’s not my fault. It’s yours.”She was locked inside with heavy silver chains. Every time she moved, the silver burned her skin. One wound layered over another. Nothing had time to heal. Her clothes were torn and dirty. Her body was covered in whip marks. She spent the entire night whispering like someone who had lost her mind.Sometimes, she would smile, as if she was remembering the past. Then she would suddenly freeze. Her eyes would widen as she remembered where she was. And she would scream.Cry. Beg. Awake. Broken. Terrified. Desperate. Suffering.Day after day. The cycle never ended.Selene was trapped inside the same cage she helped create. Forced to experience the pain Lena and I had endured, forced to live between memories and despair. But unlike us… She would never meet the Moon Goddess and never be given a chance to leave.

Are you afraid?”Jace didn’t say another word. He simply turned and walked out.Selene wanted Jace to kill her. She wanted a quick ending. But she didn’t know Jace like I did. When Jace truly wanted to punish someone, he never chose the easiest way.…Today, Jace decided to visit

  • My Fated Mate Destroyed Me for Another Shewolf   Chapter 8

Isabelle’s POVAnother set of soft footsteps echoed through the doorway soon after the guard left.Selene. She was still wearing her ceremonial gown, but all her makeup had been removed. Her eyes were red, as if she had been crying for a long time. “Isabelle…”Her voice trembled. “I never blamed you. How could you do this to yourself? How could you do this to Jace?”The audacity. Even now, she was making it sound like I was the one who had done something wrong. She continued. But I noticed Jace’s expression had already darkened.“Jace was going to bring you and Lena home after our ceremony…”Her voice became softer. “Why couldn’t you wait just one more day?”Then she turned toward him.“Jace… Some things are just fate. Maybe the Moon Goddess decided it was their time.”She reached for his arm. “I’m still here. I’ll stay with you forever.”Her fingers barely touched him before Jace moved away.“I said, don’t touch me.”The warmth that used to appear in his eyes whenever he looked at S

Isabelle’s POVJace and Rowan rushed toward the morgue. I followed behind them. The morgue was located beneath the Healer’s wing, quiet and sealed away from the rest of the pack. When the doors opened, the scent of herbs, disinfectant, and death filled the hallway.I was surprised that I could smell it.Then I remembered. The bond between Jace and me still existed. I was sensing everything through him.Jace stopped at the entrance. For almost three minutes, he didn’t dare take another step inside.“Alpha,” Adam reminded him softly.Only then did Jace move, like a statue finally brought back to life.Inside the room, two covered bodies rested on cold stone tables. The Healer slowly pulled back the blankets. And there we were. Lena and I, quietly lying there, almost as if we were only sleeping. We looked better than we had when Jace and Rowan left us at Thornhold. The Healer had cleaned away the dried blood and softened the terrible signs of our suffering.Through the bond, I could feel

Isabelle’s POV“What are you talking about, Adam?” Jace denied it almost instantly. “Isabelle was with Lena. They were having fun. I saw the pictures…”But his voice wasn’t as confident as before. It grew lighter. And for the first time, I saw panic flash through Jace’s eyes.Adam was a respected Healer. Surely, he wouldn’t help me continue some so-called “trick.”“Adam?” Jace frowned when Adam didn’t answer. Before Adam could respond, another group of wolves entered the hall. The wolf leading them carried a red flag, the symbol of the Lycan Royal Family.Normally, the Lycan Royal Family did not interfere with the affairs of individual packs. But perhaps the truth of Lena’s and my deaths—two she-wolves abused until their last breath—had finally reached their ears. The leading wolf bowed to Jace. “We are here on behalf of the Lycan Royal Family to investigate the deaths of two Lunas caused by prolonged abuse.”The moment his words fell, the hall exploded with whispers.“Abuse? Who would

Isabelle’s POVOne hour passed, then another, then another.Jace didn’t move for a long time.By the time the sky outside turned completely dark, an Omega finally walked in. “Alpha, will you be joining everyone for dinner?”Jace slowly stood. His face was terrifyingly cold.He didn’t answer her. Instead, he turned and walked in the opposite direction. The mate bond immediately dragged me after him.He went straight into our bedroom.Everything inside was exactly where I had left it before I was taken to the Fortress.Jace walked to my side of the bed and pulled open the drawer. Inside sat a small glass box.He opened it.There were several things inside. The first was a ring.I had once mentioned that in the human world, married couples wore wedding rings. So Jace had given me one too on our first anniversary.Jace picked up the ring. For one second, his fingers hesitated. Then he threw it hard against the floor. The diamond didn’t break. So he lifted his boot and stomped down on it.O
