Chapter 3 The Encounter

We finally arrived in London, and Oliver took me to the university as he promised me, always taking care of me, like the brother I didn't have. I'm thankful that now he brings that place into my life.

I get out of the car and look around; the place is fantastic, "Oliver, put my bags down, be careful with my piano, please," I told him. We started looking for the building where my apartment would be.

"Why did you have to bring this piano, it's small, but it's a pain to be walking around; I told you I'd buy you one when I got to London," he said while he almost dropped my bags and my piano, he's such a klutz.

"Because my parents gave it to me and you know I love playing the piano and singing, it relaxes me so much, stops complaining," I said, sending him a kiss in the air.

"You should have accepted to stay at my place; you don't have to share an apartment with a stranger; you are a millionaire. You can afford certain luxuries if you knew that right," said Olí.

"I know that, but I want to live the whole experience, live with friends, go to parties, have fun," I tell her with a huge smile on my face.

"Dany, remember why you are here; not everything should be fun," Oliver reminds me.

"I know, you don't have to repeat it to me, but there's nothing wrong with taking advantage of the stay and what the campus has to offer while I'm here, don't you think," I tell him smiling again.

"I feel like Uncle Tristan; he's going to kill me if you get in trouble, and I won't be here to take care of you."

"Good grief, I wish they would stop treating me like a child; I'll be fine, I'll behave, I promise."

"Okay, let's find your apartment because I have to go; I don't want to drive at night," Oliver says.

I walked towards the student apartment area. We found the one we were looking for; a receptionist and I approached her as we entered.

"Hi, I'm Daniella Douglas; I'm registered for a shared apartment for this semester," I say to the receptionist.

"Hi, let me check our registration, let me," she said and started checking the computer.

"Yes, here you are; your roommate will be Ivana Miller; she already checked in and should be waiting in the apartment to meet you."

"Perfect, what a thrill you heard Oliver, I already have roomie," I tell him, smiling.

"Huy yeeeeeei, I can't wait to meet her," he tells me with his sarcastic smile.

"Here you go, these are your keys, and the elevator is on the right side; welcome," the receptionist tells me.

"Thank you" I take the keys and head to the elevator with Oliver behind me, who brings all my suitcases and just my carry-on bag and my cosmetic bags.

When we get to floor 3, we walk pro the halls to number 3030, and I open with my key; as I enter, I see a redhead dancing like crazy and singing, while Oliver stares at her with his mouth open.

"Please tell me she won't be your roomie; I can't be that unlucky," Oliver says as he puts his bags down.

"This semester is going to be crazy; I already feel like I love her," I say as I watch her dancing.

"Wowwww, you have a piano. This will be fun," said the redhead and took off her headphones, and looked at me," Hi, you must be Daniella?" she asked me.

"Daniella Douglas, but you can call me Dany," I said smiling.

"Ivana Miller, but you can call me, whatever you want, and you play the piano?" she asked, looking at me with a huge smile.

"you like music, and so do I; I already feel I love you, and we are going to get along wonderfully."

"You know how to play the piano, and I imagine you sing a little?" he asked me.

"If singing karaoke counts for anything, I'm quite the pro," I told him, and at that moment, I knew we would both become great friends.

I could see Oliver's face, regretting that I was here, now that he knew my new roomie.

"God makes them, and they come together," I heard Oliver say.

"What did you say?" asked Ivana.

"Nothing, that the place is nice," he said, lying.

"I don't doubt it, our apartment has three bedrooms, it was supposed to be three of us, but I'm glad we could get this one for just the two of us; we're going to have the time of our lives."

"I chose the bedroom that faces the end of the hallway, and I left you the one with the balcony facing the garden, or if you prefer the guest bedroom, you can choose," Ivana told me.

"Balcony to the garden, it's perfect, thank you very much," I tell him.

"And who is this beau, your boyfriend?" he asks me, and Oliver and I look at each other, but before he says anything, I go ahead.

"Not at all; this is Oliver. He's like my brother; we've been inseparable since we were kids, and he has the impossible mission from my dad, to take care of me while I'm in College."

"Oliver Jones, nice to meet you."

"Wow, gallant and gentlemanly, I like you," says Ivana.

"Dany, I have to go, I would like to stay longer, but I must rime, nice to meet you, haha, sorry I forgot your name," says Oliver.

"Ivana!" she says.

"Sure, please, if anything happens with Dany, any emergency whatever don't hesitate to call me anytime anytime" and he hands her a card.

"Yes Sir," says Ivana smiling,

and puts her headset back on.

"Are you sure you don't want to change departments? You're still on time," says Oliver as I walk him out.

"Don't worry; I'll be fine."

We leave the building, and I walk him to his car, "Dany let's go get a coffee before I leave; I saw a coffee shop nearby."

"And here I thought you were in a hurry to leave, let's go, "I told him.

We went to the coffee shop and sat at a small table in the outdoor area while we drank coffee and talked about old memories.

Oliver took my hands and looked me in the eyes, "Dany, promise me that if anything happens or you need me, you will call me immediately."

"Oli, don't worry; sometimes I think you worry too much; I'm really fine," he says confidently.

"I'm not that naive high school girl anymore; please trust me, I'll be fine, I promise," I tell him.

"You're right, forgive me. It's just that after what Sebastian did to you, I became very overprotective of you, forgive me, you're right. Everything will be fine, have fun, study, and I hope to see you soon," he tells me and kisses me on my forehead.

"I'll go pay the bill; I'll be right back," says Olí and gets up from the table.

I'm looking towards the street when in front of me a black BMW stops. I see the

The car driver, a very handsome guy with green eyes and black hair, caught my attention.

And I can't help but look directly at him while waiting for the light to change at the traffic light, when I hear Olí, "Dany, Dany!" he says, almost shouting at me.

And I come back to reality, "sorry you're talking to me," I said, a little distracted.

"What's wrong with you?" he asks me curiously.

"Nothing, I just got distracted watching something. Are you ready? Let's go," I told him.

"Yeah, let's go; I'll drop you off before I leave."

We headed to his car, and he drove me back to the university; he parked at the main entrance, I got out of the car, and Oliver did the same, to say goodbye.

Oliver hugged me and lifted me, spinning me around in the air, "Olí, you don't know how I'm going to miss you, promise me that the first chance you get, you'll come to see me," I said with a smile.

"I promise, take care and anything you know, call me, and I'll be here in a few hours; Paris is close, remember," Oliver told me; he kissed me on my forehead and left.

When I turned around, I couldn't believe what I was seeing, and it was the guy in the black car. I was standing almost in front of me, and I had to take the opportunity.

I took a few steps to get closer, and that's when I heard him talking to his friend, "Marcus, I have the number of some beauties for tonight; apparently, Kenny has a friend, who has another friend, and they are both gorgeous, according to him" he said shouting.

A playboy had to be,

and his name is Marcus, perfect, so I know who to stay away from; the last thing I need is another idiot in my life; I turned around and left.

As I walked to my apartment, I was approached by a guy," Hi, are you now?" he asked me.

"Yes," I replied.

"What manners of mine? My name is Nico, "he says to me as he takes my hand and kisses it.

"What a gentleman, Nico, that's what you do with all the new girls you meet, or is that a new tactic? "I tell him confidently.

"Beautiful and smart, you don't get that a lot," he says, looking at me.

"I'm glad you realize I'm unique; if you'll excuse me, I have things to do," I tell him and keep walking.

"Excuse me; I think we got off on the wrong foot. May I invite you to a party tonight" he says to me.

"I don't know, I don't know you, and I don't go out with strangers," I tell him, smiling.

"We wouldn't be alone; there will be more people; we can meet there if that makes you feel better," he tells me straight in the eyes and gives me a piece of paper with the data.

"Okay, thanks," I tell him and keep walking.

"So that's a yes?" he says to me as I walk, and I yell "Maybe!" and walk away.

So there's going to be a party, the first of many, because tonight, I'm going to have the time of my life.
