EDWIN’S POV

I had to fall down and pretended like I was dead, just to satisfy her.

Immediately I heard the front door opened, which means she’s gone, I got back to my feet and picked the gown she’d turned down.

Getting back to my living room, I met another vampire sitting there, sipping wine as if it was their home.

“Who gave you the authority to waltz in here any how? Old man?”

Hale Vancleff, the high priest of the whole vampire clan stood up and approached me, “You smell so new. What kind of guest did you host?”

I rolled my eyes as I sank into the sofa and tossed the gown aside. “Did I need to tell you everything about where I go and who I see?”

He sat beside me and took his cup again, “I came to pick something at the cementary, so I thought of branching here to say a hello”

I manage to mumble, but my mind is on my mate.

I didn’t get to ask what her name was, and I wonder if I’ll get to see her again.

Last night, as a guardian vampire whose task was to eliminate any prisoner that escaped the heavenly realm prison, I had gone to the hospital to eliminate the vampire that was spotted there, not knowing that I’ll meet my mate there.

Eight hundred years ago, when I bade her goodbye to life, my mate had promised to come back to me, but I wasn’t expecting her now of all times.

For centuries, I watched the world pass by in black and white, untouched, unloved.

I’ve seen many look alikes but none had the blood that tastes like hers Sweet and refreshing.

The high priest tapped me, “What are you grinning about like a boy in love?”

“Old man?” I smiled again, “Shall I tell you a very interesting story?”

He sneered, “You drank some delicious blood last night?”

“Yes” I replied as the bed scene crept up my mind again.

I felt like a virgin that got deflowered just by thinking of it. My intentions of biting was to kill her for seeing the scene where a vampire drinks a human blood, just like the rules.

But when she turned out to be my mate, I had to quickly bring her to my bedroom and stop the spread of my biting poison and which is why she became horny.

High priest gasped. “Don’t tell me you killed someone!

“Hey!” I yelled. “I didn’t kill anyone. I was killed instead” I showed him the dagger mark on her chest.

He gasped and jump to his feet to inspect it, but I pushed him aside gently “You worry too much for a two thousand years old man. Will I small dagger kill me?”

“But who did it?” he cried.

I heaved a long sigh. Not high priest acting like my parent right now.

But the horror on my mate’s face after stabbing flashed before my eyes and I smiled again at her cute foolishness.

High priest pinched me, “Why are you blushing now?”

“How did you feel when you meet your mate again after her reincarnation?”

He looked at me strangely, “You say what?”

“I met her last night!” I finally confessed. “I mean my mate”

High priest was shocked. “Edwin, you don’t me you really….”

I smile with fulfilment, “I’m telling you. Last night was fire!”

“Yes!!!” he shrieked in ecstasy.

High priest and my friend, Dimitri knew my ordeal with different ladies that I’ve met in the past and that looks like my mate.

Even though the taste and scent of their blood is a method of identification, I still hold on to that faith that it’s my mate.

I got on my feet and faced the happy old man, “I’m leaving for work, now prepare to get going”

“Work?” he bellowed, “After all the billions of money you stashed up in the past years?”

I smiled softly, “Don’t worry. It’s just a college professor. I want to monetize my knowledge in economics”

He growled as he pack his leather bag. “Take that dress along with you. It will be useful”

I frowned, “Why taking it? I’m just going there to teach not to….”

“I’m off, young champ”

Before I could say anything else, he disappeared. Huh! That arrogant old man. He never concludes his words.

I went back to my room and got dressed before taking the dress like he advised.

That old man was never wrong anyway.

However, before I walk out of my room, I sighted a piece of fabric laying in some corner.

I took it gingerly and held it up, turns out to be a bra!

I laughed instinctively. “That clumsy girl” I packed it alongside the dress.

Who knows.

Then off, I drove to pyramid college to start my new career as a professor after doing different jobs since for many centuries.
