Chapter 5

Myra's P.O.V.

I'm excited for next week! Do you know why? Because it is finally the Graduation day! I am happy because I am sure that I will graduate, and in June I can start teaching.

"Besty! We're beautiful!" Cass said happily and we took a selfie.

Our graduation picture feels so good. We are actually here in the salon and getting ready.

My make up is so beautiful! It's been a while since I put on a make-up like this again. My last make up was when we did the junior/senior highschool promenade and it was too long ago.

I sent my picture to Nhel.

Nhel immediately replied and greeted me that I was very beautiful, of course which girlfriend would not be thrilled by that, right?

"We are getting married soon" I said and smiled.

"Wow! Don’t assume!" Cass said and laughed.

"That's okay! I might be surprised you get married first than me" I said, jokingly.

"No! my Daddy would kill me" Cass said.

I just laughed remembering that Cass's parents were strict. Not like me. Nhel and I are legal with Mama and we are also legal on Nhel's family side.

"Let's go to school. Let's just ride a trycicle as if there is no taxi passing by" Cass said.

I just nodded and we went to school.

When we got there we saw a lot of students who were very nice and handsome because it was the Graduation picture today.

I looked around and saw Sir John looking at me. Wait? Is it really me?

I looked behind me and checked because maybe later, he was looking at something else and not me, but I saw nothing.

When I look again at Sir John's place, he is gone.

"Hey! You look haunted again!" Cass said to me ang hold my arm.

"No, why" I just said.

We all went to the picture and we lined up.

We had a good conversation and we all planned to make a printed T-shirt for our batch, of course everyone agreed.

"You're beautiful" I was terrified by the voice I heard. I looked behind me and saw Sir who was so close to me that I backed away.

"You're still flattering sir, when you know I'm always beautiful" Ara said happily.

I sighed because I wasn't the one he were talking to.

Gosh Myra!

I immediately walked in the other direction to get away from sir and when sir left then, I returned to the queue.

After a while I will be the one to take the picture.

"Yiiee! Myra is beautiful" Dave said happily.

I just laughed at him.

I smiled at the camera and then I looked into the distance and saw Sir John watching us.

After our photo shoot I texted Nhel because we had free time.

After the graduation picture of all the students, we were sent home.

The next day, Saturday, I helped my Mom to sell meat at the market.

I count those who pay and repay.

"I told you, daughter, don't come with me. Look, you'll just get dirty" my Mom said.

"No Mom! I'm used to it, I’m always don’t have a time to help you here." I said.

"At least! You should just be at home and resting" Mom said.

"Huh? Mom, how can you say that? Of course I won't let you get tired. We should be the same" I said to my Mom and smiled.

"I'm really lucky to have you" Mom said.

"I'm also lucky to have a great mother like you" I said.

"Please let me buy a kilo of this" said the customer who just arrived.

We immediately sold it.

After a while Sir John seemed to catch my eye.

I closed my eyes and it disappeared. Maybe I'm just mimicking again.

Why do I always see him? Ever since something happened to us, I have always seen him everywhere even though he’s not really here.

I'm hallucinating badly!

"Myra, buy some flowers first, then we will go to your father's grave" Mother said.

When I remembered the date today I immediately obey my mother, I bought flowers for Dad, because today is Dad's death.

The afternoon came and Mama and I went to the cemetery. We lit a candle for Dad and prayed fervently.

Wherever my Dad is, I hope he is happy. He would have always remembered that Mother and I loved him dearly.

** bbrrzz ** (phone vibrate)

I picked up my cellphone and read that Nhel had a message for me.

‘love? Are you busy? Take a break and do not dry some sweat or you’ll be sick '

I immediately replied.

'Love we are Papa's grave, it’s his death anniversary. You also, Love. Rest and do not starve '

I smiled and looked up at the cemetery gate and was surprised to see Sir John again.

I feel haunted! I don’t know if he is real or not!

I averted my eyes and returned to the position as if praying.

‘Lord why am I doing this?'

"Myra, are you okay?" Mom asked.

"Amen" I said and signed of the cross.

"Are you okay? Let's go home so that darkness does not overtake us on the road" said Mama and started walking.

I followed Mama while I was still texting Nhel.

'We're Home Love'

I told Nhel.

"Be careful, by the way, my prof said that our graduation will be next month". Nhel said.

We are just in next week and they will be next month?

'Long time no see. But I will go 'I reply.

"Myra, hurry up and walk, do your cellphone later, my knees are already hurting. I want to lie down on the bed" said Mama.

I ran the distance between Mama and me and then I clung to Mama's arm.

"I will massage you when we get home" I said.

"All right, thank you" Mama said and smiled at me.

Even if you look like a ghost Sir, thank you, because I do my best for my family. Thank you for passing me on even though the replacement cost is too high.
