Winston's POV

I've closed billion-dollar deals with less difficulty than dealing with one woman.

I stared at the closed door across the hallway before rubbing the bridge of my nose.

"This is going to be a very long week."

"No," Attorney Castillo corrected calmly. "A month."

I slowly turned toward him.

"What?"

"The arrangement is for one month."

I blinked once. No, hindi na ‘ko papayag talaga!

"Absolutely not."

"It's Don Alejandro's instruction."

"I don't care if it's my grandfather's instruction." My voice remained calm, but I could already feel my patience wearing thin. "One week was already unreasonable. A month is ridiculous."

Attorney Castillo adjusted his glasses. "Then consider it a test, gusto mo ‘yon diba?"

Mabilis akong napailing.

"I don't take tests, Attorney. So, please stop this nonsense."

"No." He smiled faintly. "You usually give them."

I looked away. I hated it when he made sense.

"I have work," I said. "Board meetings. Investors. International conferences. I don't have time to babysit a provincial girl."

Oh, goodness! No fucking way!

"You don't have to."

"Good."

"You only have to live in the same house."

That wasn't any better. But what if, bilhan ko na lang ang promdi na yon ng condo diba? Kaysa sa dito siya tumira sa mansion. Pwede naman siguro yon.

Attorney Castillo handed me another envelope.

"These are your grandfather's house rules."

"My grandfather left house rules?"

"He anticipated your personality."

Of course he did.

I opened the envelope. There were only three lines.

Treat her with respect.

Do not intentionally make her feel unwelcome.

If she leaves because of your behavior, you fail.

I stared at the paper for several seconds. He really knew how to corner me.

"So if she decides to leave..." Attorney Castillo nodded. "You lose your inheritance."

Unbelievable. He didn't leave me company. He left me in a hostage situation.

An hour later, I was finally inside my office. Peace with silence. Exactly the way I liked it.

I opened my laptop and resumed reviewing tomorrow's acquisition proposal.

Five minutes passed then ten. Everything was quiet and I really liked it. Maybe she'd decided to stay inside her room.

Finally, I had barely finished signing one document when someone knocked on my door but I ignored it.

Another knock.

"Sir?"

I looked up. One of the housemaids stood awkwardly outside my office.

"What is it?"

She looked nervous. "Miss Guanzon is asking..."

I waited.

"...where the rice cooker is."

I frowned.

"What?"

"The rice cooker, sir."

I stared at her. "Why would she need a rice cooker?"

The maid smiled awkwardly. "She said she's hungry."

I checked my watch. Three-thirty in the afternoon.

"Lunch ended two hours ago."

"She said she wasn't hungry earlier."

I closed my eyes for a second. "Tell Chef Roberto to prepare something."

"We did, sir."

"And?"

"She doesn't want truffle risotto."

I frowned harder. "What does she want?"

The maid hesitated. "Fried dried fish."

What the fuck?

"Excuse me?"

"With tomatoes and bagoong."

I slowly leaned back in my chair. This had to be a joke.

"We don't have dried fish in this house."

"I told her that, sir."

"And?"

"She asked where the nearest market was."

I pinched the bridge of my nose. Of course she did.

Windy's POV

"Opo."

"Ano po iyon?"

"Rice cooker."

Natigilan siya. "Meron naman po."

"Luh?"

"Automatic rice system po ang gamit dito."

"Automatic... ano?"

Tahimik siyang tumango.

"I'll ask Mr. Domingo."

Napasinghap ako. "Hala!

  • My Promdi Wife   Special Chapter

"Good morning po." "Opo."

  • My Promdi Wife   Chapter 55: A Price I'm No Longer Willing to Pay

Winston's POVThere was a quote my grandfather repeated throughout my childhood."The most expensive mistakes are the ones you realize too late."Back then, I thought he was talking about business. Failed investments, poor negotiations, and bad decisions.Tonight, for the first time I understood what he truly meant.~I couldn't stop thinking about what Windy had said."Kapag tapos na ang lahat... babalik na lang ako sa Batangas."She had said it so casually. So naturally. As though leaving was already decided. As though she had never planned to stay. The gala ended nearly an hour later. Guests continued thanking us before leaving one by one. I answered every handshake. Every congratulation. Every farewell. But I couldn't remember a single conversation because my mind was somewhere else. The drive back to the mansion was unusually quiet. Windy sat beside me, looking out the window. She smiled whenever she caught me looking. The same warm smile. Yet, it felt different now. Like someone

  • My Promdi Wife   Chapter 54: "...ano'ng plano mo?"

Winston's POVI had spent years learning how to read people. A slight change in posture. A brief pause before answering. The way someone's eyes moved during a negotiation. Most people revealed more than they intended.Isabelle was no exception. She wasn't at the gala because of charity. She wasn't there to congratulate me. She wanted something. The only question was...What?The auction had just ended when Benjamin approached me."Sir."I turned toward him."Miss Isabelle Reyes is asking if she could have a few minutes of your time."I looked across the ballroom. She was standing near the terrace doors, patiently waiting. I glanced in Windy's direction. She was laughing with Veronica and one of the foundation's scholars.Good. She was enjoying herself."I'll be back."I said quietly before walking toward the terrace. The cool evening air greeted me the moment I stepped outside. The sounds of the gala became distant behind the closed glass doors. Isabelle stood near the railing, lookin

  • My Promdi Wife   Chapter 53: Sold

Winston's POVThere were people you expected to see again. Business rivals, former colleagues, and old acquaintances. Then there were people you were certain had already become part of the past.Isabelle Reyes belonged to the second category.Or at least, I thought she did.For a brief moment, the ballroom disappeared, the conversations, and the music. Even the hundreds of guests inside the hall. All I saw was the woman standing at the entrance. She looked exactly the way I remembered, elegant, composed, and confident. Nothing about her had changed. Unfortunately, the same couldn't be said for me."Winston." Benjamin's voice quietly brought me back. "The guests are waiting."I blinked, right. The speech. I looked away from the entrance and forced myself to focus on the podium."Ladies and gentlemen..." I continued my opening remarks as though nothing had happened.Years of experience made it easy to hide emotion. No one noticed. At least, that was what I believed.~The applause echoe

  • My Promdi Wife   Chapter 52: The Former F

Winston's POVThere was something ironic about charity galas. People arrived wearing clothes worth millions. They donated impressive amounts. They smiled for the cameras. Then went home believing they had changed the world. My grandfather used to attend every single one. Not because he enjoyed them. But because he believed influence carried responsibility.I never questioned that. I simply inherited the obligation.Tonight, for the first time, I wasn't thinking about the event. I was thinking about the woman standing in the room next to mine.I adjusted the cuff of my tuxedo before checking my watch. Seven o'clock and we needed to leave.A soft knock came from the door."Sir." Benjamin stepped inside. "The car is ready."I nodded. "Is Windy ready?""I believe Miss Veronica is helping her with the finishing touches.""Good." I reached for my coat then stopped. "Benjamin.""Yes, Sir?"He looked at me expectantly. After a brief pause, I asked,"Do you think she'll be nervous?"A smile sl

  • My Promdi Wife   Chapter 51: The Decision

Winston's POVI barely slept. Every time I closed my eyes, I saw the same three things. My grandfather's letter, his journals, and that photograph. For years, I believed I knew every important chapter of his life. Apparently, I didn't.The next morning, I arrived at the office before everyone else. The building was unusually quiet. No executives, no assistants, and no meetings. Just me.I placed my grandfather's journals on my desk one last time before closing them. There was only one person left who might know the whole story. I picked up my office phone."Benjamin.""Yes, Sir?""I need the contact information of Attorney Salvador."A brief silence followed. "The former family lawyer?""Yes.""I'll arrange it immediately."Less than an hour later, the elderly lawyer walked into my office. Attorney Salvador had worked with my grandfather for more than thirty years before retiring. His hair had completely turned white. His posture wasn't as straight as I remembered. But his eyes remain
