Many years ago
His strong jaws digs into my shoulder, biting down hard. I raised my hand, blasting the rocks from the floor towards him as he tumbles back, his black fur rippling as he snarls before charging towards me. I could already feel his venom pumping through my veins. My magic weakens before the rocks drop to the floor inches from his paws. His head tilts to the side and I can picture him fucking smirking at me. I hate wolves.
He drags his paws through the dirt, deep scratch marks digging deep into the ground. Then he leaps into the air, his razor-sharp teeth aiming for my neck. Fuck, I’m done for. This is the end. The venom is slowing me down, my magic weakening as I let out the last blast suspending the beast in mid air, giving me enough time to roll out from under him as I quickly evaporate returning to the coven as I collapse on the floor. “What the hell happened?” Tobin roars as he pulls my shirt back, seeing the deep bite mark on my shoulder. “Shit,” he grumbles before helping me into the house as the others appear in the doorway.
“Calyx! Oh my god, what happened? Are you okay?” Odette calls as she fusses over me, irritating me. “Leave me be, woman,” I beckon the bottle of scotch, pulling the bottle top off with my teeth before I take a big swig. After a few gulps, I pour some over the wound. It hurts like a bitch. “Cal, what the fuck did you do that for? You're going to contaminate the toxins further, then we will only have one choice left,” Tobin explains, his brows creased at his frustration as I let out a sigh. “It’s too lat anyway,” I utter, taking another sip as they all stop what they're doing to look at me. “What do you mean, babe?” Odette asks, her blonde hair tumbling down over her bare, slender shoulders.
